They all call me an Outer God.
Chapter 563 You're an imposter
The sky darkened in an instant, and the enormous tornado roared as if it could connect heaven and earth, relentlessly crushing towards the royal city.
The soldiers' faces darkened further, but even so, they did not flee. Instead, they looked around as if waiting for something.
"call----"
The storm whipped up sandstorms that filled the sky, growing ever more terrifying. In the face of natural disasters, both humans and giants seemed so insignificant. This storm was unprecedented. If it were allowed to enter the royal city and wreak havoc, it was estimated that within an hour, no normal human beings would be found alive in the city.
"damn it!"
The soldier gritted his teeth, his muscles trembling slightly, and just then, as the storm was about to engulf everyone, it suddenly disappeared.
Indeed, he vanished into thin air. Everything fell silent as if nothing had ever happened. Behind the city gate, a man adorned with gold ornaments and with heavily drawn eyeliner appeared.
"High Priest!" The soldiers and the crowd cheered when they saw the High Priest appear. It was this priest who had just quelled the disaster and restored peace to them.
"Quiet—have the Henu come too?"
High Priest Roin strolled leisurely out of the city gate, scrutinizing the Hanu before him, especially Ria. He was slightly puzzled; the Hanu were long-lived, and he knew all the princes of their clan, yet he had never seen this Hanu before.
Moreover, the man's hood covering half of his face made him look suspicious.
Then he thought of the storm that had just occurred; that storm was definitely not formed naturally…
"So you're finally starting to show your claws?"
Loin walked up to Ria and looked up at him sternly: "Take off your hood."
Lia obediently removed his hood, revealing a plain, even somewhat ugly, face behind it. It was ugly because of a scar on the top of his head that ran diagonally across his eyes and nose, and where the scar was located, much of his hair was missing.
The moment he revealed his face, Ria unconsciously turned her head away, seemingly unwilling to let anyone see her ugly side.
"New here? I don't think I've seen you before."
Faced with Roin's interrogation, Sistoru quickly explained, "My lord, he is the prophet of my people. He has come to see the Pharaoh because he foresaw the changes that would affect the royal family."
"A prophet? An upheaval?" Now Loin's eyes looked even more strange. He knew that the prophets of the Hanu tribe were always mysterious. They rarely made prophecies, but once they did, it meant a change in civilization or the beginning of a catastrophe.
Now a prophet of the Hanu tribe has appeared here. Could it be that the prince's faction is truly so loyal, even to the point of being willing to offer up their own tribe's prophet?
Loin did not trust the Hanu, but the king must have had his reasons for choosing to accept them.
Others can be dealt with according to normal procedures, but for this prophet, Loin needs to personally interrogate and detain him before reporting to the Queen and making further plans.
"Put your hood on and come with me."
He gave the soldiers a look, and soon soldiers approached Ria with shackles, signaling him to squat down. Then, they bound his hands, feet, and even his neck.
Throughout the entire ordeal, Ria did not offer any resistance. He felt the substantial weight of the metal on his body and suddenly realized that it could actually suppress supernatural abilities to a certain extent.
“Things are starting to get interesting.” Faced with the unexpected turn of events, Ria felt a surprising joy. The priest had dispelled the storm he had created, even though Ria hadn’t exerted much effort in creating it. Dispelling it in an instant was no ordinary ability.
It seems that not rashly declaring war on the Pharaoh from the beginning was the right decision.
Ria lowered his eyes, and countless golden lights shimmered in the shadows beneath his hood. In just a few minutes, he had felt the gaze of dozens of different eyes. The oppressive feeling emanating from the owners of these gazes was enough to prove that they... or perhaps they were not benevolent beings.
“Angels, thirteen angels, but their gazes are not those of living beings. Perhaps they are casting their gazes here through some medium.”
"Is it a mural?"
As Lia glanced casually at the patterns carved on the building surfaces, she noticed that there were also many eyes in the patterns.
Barkley was already rife with eye worship, and the Eye of Horus was a noble symbol of royal power, which the Pharaoh used to communicate with the sun and the moon.
Loin was about to leave with Ria first, and Ria took the opportunity to tell Sicily that she would be fine and that she was just going to see the Pharaoh ahead of time.
He didn't believe the Pharaoh would be uninterested in the sudden appearance of the Hanuman prophet, whose prophecy could be either significant or minor; if Ria wished, he could even claim that his prophecy directly concerned the Pharaoh's throne.
And so he was separated from the giants. Loin escorted him all the way to the palace prison, but as soon as they approached the palace gates, Ria looked up as if he had sensed something.
What came into view were people; the city walls were densely packed with people.
Those men drew their bows and shot arrows, aiming the arrows at Ria. Ria looked at Roin and asked, "Sir, what do you mean by this?"
"Don't you understand?" Loin sneered, drawing his sword and pointing it at Ria. "You are too suspicious, Hanu. When you were impersonating this persona, did you ever think that we also have a god who is good at prophecy? He did not predict that any Hanu tribe prophet would appear today."
"Then there can only be one answer: you are an imposter."
"You despicable Hanu, you think you can enter the palace this way? Your status and acting skills are far from sufficient—"
“Oh, so there’s another prophet…” Ria murmured to himself, then smiled and said, “But the fact that He couldn’t foresee my existence speaks volumes. The inspiration of the Hanu people is so powerful that your so-called gods can’t match it.”
"Watch your words." Roin's eyes sharpened, and with a wave of his hand, he severed one of Ria's arms. Ria screamed and clutched her arm, his tone becoming increasingly obsessive.
“You’re too anxious, High Priest. It’s not shameful to admit your shortcomings. Otherwise, you could try to ask that god to predict my intentions, and you’ll find that He can’t predict anything at all.”
"Not only could He not predict the future, He didn't even know who I was."
His tone quickened, and Royne's eyes widened as he saw the black, fleshy tendrils extending from the severed arm that had fallen to the ground.
In a short while, those fleshy tendrils transformed into dark and eerie tentacles that struggled to connect with Ria's wounds, eventually reattaching themselves intact.
At that moment, Ria summoned an enlarged version of the Sword of Damocles towards the enemies covering the city walls.
