"If I may ask, do all seventeen watches belonging to your leader have the same time, or do they each have their own different time zone?"

“This…” Claden had no idea. He was just a henchman who originally thought he could join the Black Hand to make a living, or at least show off his power through the organization. Little did he know that his rare display of backbone would lead him to his downfall.

He's so stupid, really.

If given another chance, he'd rather stay home washing dishes than go out and run into Ria. Who could stand someone who's so open and honest with everyone they meet?

Is this a normal person? This is practically a living ancestor!

Claden was still pondering his words when he watched as the architecture of the surrounding landscape underwent a dramatic transformation.

In just over ten seconds, all the buildings were quickly dyed with the color of gold, a deep and dazzling gold that flowed like lava along every brick and every wall.

Not only the buildings, but even the most ordinary glass windows were transformed into sparkling diamonds, emitting colorful light. These lights intertwined and collided in the air, forming magnificent ribbons of light.

And those usually inconspicuous green plants seem to have been reborn at this moment. They have transformed into crystal clear jade, and the blooming flowers have transformed into all kinds of precious items... dazzling rubies, deep blue sapphires, each flower exudes a charming and fatal temptation.

"Oh my God!"

Claden's eyes widened suddenly, and he involuntarily took a few steps back. Logically speaking, these scenes would be fatally tempting to black market merchants, but Claden seemed to have seen some kind of hellish picture, and he lost all interest: "It's the boss's domain. He opened his domain in broad daylight... I'm not playing anymore. Tell me to leave. This has nothing to do with me!"

"field?"

This was probably the first time Ria had heard such a word, and judging from Claden's expression, it was definitely not a good thing.

"Some corruptors with a unique understanding of the extraordinary can influence the surrounding area and turn it into a scene that is absolutely advantageous to them. Lord Sophia's domain usually only appears at night. Under his manipulation, Lidsh at night will become a paradise where everyone revels in money."

“But it’s daytime now. I’ve never seen him activate his domain during the day, and its range has spread throughout the entire Lidsh…”

Claden's voice trembled more and more, but Ria found it very interesting. He walked to a golden wall and tried to knock on it. After finding that it was real, his interest intensified.

"It's actually real gold, but it might only be real for now. Once the domain is removed, the matter will return to its original state. This method of replacement is quite interesting."

"Lord Kercha, we'd better run! You can't defeat him; he's the king here."

Claden wanted to persuade Ria, but since Ria showed no intention of letting him go, he was afraid that if he didn't say a few more words, he might not be able to say anything at all.

"Don't be so pessimistic, Mr. Guide. One must remain calm."

Ria tapped her cane lightly, and Claden immediately noticed a gold badge on his chest with the words "Gold Medal Guide" engraved on it.

Although the surrounding buildings have become magnificent, the tallest building is right in front of them, with unobstructed roads, and it seems that they can reach it just by walking a little further.

However, Ria knew things wouldn't be that simple, and Claden knew even better. That was a black market boss, and black marketeers were best at manipulating people's desires for profit. They knew how to easily break down people's psychological defenses and manipulate them at will.

Everyone is just a chip in their casino.

And that tallest building is desire itself.

Its shadow in the night created an unreal, mesmerizing, and oppressive atmosphere. It wasn't long before Ria reached the bottom. Looking up from there, it seemed there was no end in sight. Clarden had probably given up trying to persuade Ria. He gritted his teeth and decided to stake his life on this man.

"This building is a mysterious object, the core of the entire field."

"I can feel it."

Even though Liya was just standing in front of it without entering, he could sense that this thing was unusual. He couldn't perceive its true height, and he even found that he couldn't reach the top of the building by climbing or flying. Destroying this thing would be even more difficult.

The only way to reach the rooftop seemed to be to obediently climb the stairs. After they entered, they heard a creak, and the door behind them closed automatically, sealed with layer upon layer of tape.

Ahead lay a corridor, at the end of which stood a door with some slightly messy words written on it.

As the two approached, they discovered that the word on the door was "arrogance."

A note appeared in front of Ria, which read: "You are a debtor. Please collect 10 billion chips before reaching the top, otherwise you will be considered a failure in the challenge. The loser will be forever trapped in this building and accompanied by original sin."

Current Original Sin: 1/7

Current chips: -3000

Before Ria could figure out what was going on, the door suddenly opened.

Both of them were met with a blinding white light. Once their eyes adjusted to the light, they saw several doctors in white work clothes and masks.

“You poor bastards, do you even deserve to be hospitalized? Do you think this is a charity? We’re short of beds right now, so if you can’t pay, get out of here.”

Lia was taken aback, thinking they were talking about him. However, he noticed that the doctors' gazes seemed to be fixed on several patients on the ground. The patients were trembling and kneeling, begging for mercy, as if pleading with the doctors not to kick them out.

"Please, we will raise the money."

"What a load of rubbish! You're a penniless wretch who can't even afford health insurance—and you too!"

Finally, someone turned their anger towards Lia: "If you keep speaking up for these cowards, you should pack your bags and leave your post. Don't stop us from making money!"

It turns out I'm a doctor.

Ria suddenly realized what was happening and quickly understood the situation. Claden, who was now a doctor, seemed to be frantically hinting to Ria not to offend the higher-ups here, but Ria just smiled helplessly.

"If I still had some money and a salary, I might lay low for a while... But right now I'm in debt and no one's giving me a penny, so why should I be subservient to these people?"

Do you think I have plenty of time to play with you guys?

Lia suddenly looked up, grabbed the doctor in front of her by the neck and lifted him into the air. The light above him flickered, making his shadow even more distorted.
