Chapter 525 Fat Boy Pedestrian Street

Chapter 525 Fat Boy Pedestrian Street

Dillashau made that remark because guarding the long street in front of the Emerald Temple were a group of headless warriors who were similar in height to the Black Blade Messengers but several times larger.

These guys are quite terrifying in size, with huge muscles and a thick layer of fat.

He carried a large, curved sword nearly half his body length on his shoulder. Strange patterns, resembling some kind of eerie growth, were clearly visible on his armor, exposed skin, and weapon, appearing as a grayish-brown color.

It was headless, but clearly a living creature.

At the point where their necks were severed, only a dark hole could be seen. Combined with their overall round and plump shape, they looked like a giant pot more than three meters tall.

These enormous, fat guards, leaning against stone pillars, are the only slightly wild sight in the otherwise peaceful and languid city of Serefis.

However, if you don't observe them up close, these big fat guys look more like sculptures frozen in place. Only when you get close can you feel their heavy breathing and the rise and fall of their chests.

Milo and Dirac had no idea what kind of creatures these were.

However, it is certain that although Selphis appears peaceful, it is not without the ability to deal with extreme situations. In fact, managing a port like this, which is full of all sorts of people, requires even more military deterrence, and the rows of fat men in front of the Emerald Temple should be a kind of demonstration of force.

Do you think these fat guys are a match for you?

Dillashau muttered to himself, "I don't think it's a good idea to provoke two temples at the same time, and besides, I quite like the city of Serefis."

“It’s really strange to hear such words from a defector,” Milo grinned.

"There are so many people on the street, it's not appropriate to start a fight. My suggestion is the same as this cat brother's: it would be best to follow the people of the Golden Law Temple back to their docking location and then look for an opportunity." Dirasha put his hands in his pockets under his cloak and sized up the passersby on the street in front of the temple.

"Let's see what kind of people the second group of people sent by the Temple of Law are." Milo said noncommittally.

He was actually a little puzzled. The first group of Black Blade Messengers acted swiftly and decisively. They descended from the sky and attacked without saying a word. Their image before joining the temple was exactly as rumored: pure executioners of the gods.

But after these executioners were crushed, the temple's subsequent actions took a completely different turn. Instead of sending a more powerful force to the forbidden zone, they docked at the capital port of Os-Nargai in the form of ships and stayed there for several days, as if they were in no hurry to deal with the two sinners in the forbidden zone.

This led Milo to speculate that the second wave of the Golden Law Temple's forces was very likely composed of high-ranking officials.

Dillash offered another guess:
"Is it possible that they have more important things to do?"

“If that’s the case, I think we absolutely need to mess up this ‘more important thing’ for him, don’t you think?” Milo said.

“That makes sense.” Dillash nodded in deep agreement.

...

After walking along Fat Boy Street, you'll see cats already waiting at the bottom of the steps in front of the Emerald Temple.

It waved to Milo from a great distance: "Here, here."

And so, Milo's team gained another cat.

The one who led the way was Arthur, a pure white kitten, while Morgan, a tabby cat, was in charge of meeting us in front of the Emerald Temple.

Morgan the tabby pointed with its paw to some slight scratches on the onyx steps and described them to Milo and the others:

“Three people entered the temple. They were three old men dressed in silver... no, gold robes. The old man in front was holding a staff. They also carried the totem of the Golden Law Temple and the emblem of the royal family of the Shattered Floating City.”

Morgan busily gestured in the air with her little paws, not missing any details such as the old man's height and the length of the staff.

This aligns with Milo's earlier speculation.

The second group's identities are fundamentally different from the first. The Black Blade Envoy is clearly an assassin or executioner loyal to the Golden Tree, while the one who simultaneously possesses the identity of both a Law Totem and the royal family of the Shattered Floating City is most likely a mid-to-high-ranking member of the temple. Only such a person would leisurely linger in Selphis for several days, only visiting the local temple today. It's likely that for the previous three days, they spent their time, like Milo and his group, indulging in a life of decadence and debauchery.

“Then…should we go in and take a look? Since Nath Horsas is a benevolent god, I think He wouldn’t reject two ambitious young people from another world, would He?” Dirashau asked.

“Of course…” Milo was speaking when suddenly the lights on the long street in front of the Emerald Temple brightened up, and even more intense bonfires were lit on the stone pillars on both sides, illuminating the entire wide street as if it were daytime.

At the same time, the air was filled with the enchanting fragrance of grass and trees and the melodious strains of musical instruments.

Immediately afterwards, the fat men who had been standing on both sides of the long street with their backs against the stone pillars began to move their large curved knives, evacuating the pedestrians stranded on the street to both sides, including Myrodillac and the two cats.

"Looks like some important person is about to make an appearance," Milo muttered to himself.

Arthur, quite naturally, jumped onto Milo's shoulder, glanced in the direction from which the melodious music was coming from, and then said, "That's the biggest guy in Os-Nargay."

“Nath Horthas?” Dirac thought instinctively that the most important figure in this immortal kingdom must be Nath Horthas, the chief god of the Emerald Temple.

However, this is not the correct answer.

“No god would easily show his face on the street.” Little tabby Morgan jumped onto Milo’s other shoulder as well.

Then, the local citizens on the street began to shout in unison, answering Diracho's inner doubts with a very simple slogan: "Praise be to the great King Kurans!"

After walking along the pedestrian street and exchanging brief greetings with passersby, the elderly man, surrounded by numerous priests wearing flower wreaths, entered the Emerald Temple.

It was Kurans, the ruler of Os-Nargay.

The legendary dreamer from the waking world, the creator of this immortal kingdom.

That legendary man who supposedly traversed the stars, reached the ultimate void, and successfully returned, and was the only one who didn't go insane because of it.

...

After witnessing King Kurans walk down the long street and enter the Emerald Temple.

Milo and Dillash exchanged a glance.

"I know what you're thinking: isn't he just a grumpy old man?"

"really."

The two felt exactly the same way.

As it turns out, King Kurans may have become a Dreamer a little too late, so much so that even in this dreamlike realm where time stands still, he can only maintain an old and frail appearance.

Furthermore, this king was dressed in a casual morning robe, looking like an old man who hadn't fully woken up from a hangover and was out sunbathing, without a trace of royal grandeur.

But he is the creator of this nation, that much is undeniable.

Os-Nargue is the dream he had when he was still in the waking world. He created everything here in the dream, so he is rightfully the king of this place.

……

"It seems that the second group from the Temple of Law did indeed come with some more important mission."

Milo squinted as he watched King Kurans, surrounded by priests, enter the Emerald Temple.

Those who could be personally received by King Kurans must be guests who are also members of the royal family. Apart from those old men who entered the Emerald Temple not long ago, who else could it be?
