My Healing Games

Chapter 13, Task 2: Watch TV

Chapter 13, Second Task: Watch TV
Han Fei's brain reacted in a fraction of a second; he had no extra time to think, and his body immediately sprang into action.

Both sides raced against time. Han Fei was the first to arrive at the fourth floor, where he took the large bunch of keys and began searching for the key to the security door.

The footsteps behind him grew closer and closer, and what made him even more uneasy was that, in addition to the sound of footsteps, he also smelled a strong stench of blood!

Yes, the thick, fishy smell almost suffocated him.

"Hurry up! Hurry up!"

The rigorous training actors undergo in controlling their muscles and bodies greatly helped Han Fei; although he was extremely flustered, his hands did not tremble.

The moment he found the key, he inserted it into the lock in one go.

With the sound of the spring clip snapping open, Han Fei forcefully pulled open the security door and rushed inside.

He slammed the door shut and covered his mouth.

Through the door, he could clearly hear the panting sounds outside, like those of a wild beast.

"What the hell is this thing?"

Han Fei struggled to stand up straight and looked out through the peephole, but there was nothing in the empty hallway.

"The panting has stopped, but the smell of blood remains!"

Han Fei couldn't possibly open the door at this moment. He kept adjusting the angle and finally saw a small part of a face hidden under the security door through the peephole.

The guy on the sixth floor didn't leave! He's hiding in the blind spot of the peephole, guarding Han Fei's door!

If the old lady on the third floor gave Han Fei a feeling of kindness and gentleness with a hint of eeriness, then the person on the sixth floor gave Han Fei a feeling of madness, bloodshed, and cunning.

"My neighbors have a lot of problems!"

Han Fei took a step back, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead: "This guy is guarding the door, I can't get out at all. To exit the game, I have to complete a task. Am I supposed to do newbie quests in this room?"

To be honest, even the seemingly simplest beginner tasks have left Han Fei with a psychological scar.

"Let's wait three hours first." Han Fei didn't know how to describe his current situation. There was a blood-soaked killer blocking his door, and the haunted house he lived in was haunted at night. He was surrounded by enemies, and even that couldn't describe his miserable state.

"I've been playing for so long and I'm still only level one. Maybe things will get better once I level up."

The game is mandatory; that's the only way Han Fei can comfort himself now.

Staring at the clock on the wall, Han Fei didn't dare to go inside. He turned on all the lights and stood next to the security door.

The stench of blood in the stairwell grew stronger, and strange noises could be heard from time to time. The neighbor on the sixth floor was very patient, but Han Fei found his way of "greeting" rather unbearable.

"When I completed the fuse replacement task, the system prompted me that harmonious neighborly relations are the first step to a perfect life, which means that the game wants me to get along well with my neighbors."

"If I want to live a good life, I need the friendship and help of my neighbors." Smelling the pungent smell of blood in the air, Han Fei made a bitter face: "This is really a healing game. I am autistic and have social anxiety, and it has given me the treatment that I will die if I don't make friends."

Time passed slowly, and before we knew it, it was three in the morning.

The three-hour time limit has expired. Han Fei only needs to complete one more task to leave the game.

The "hospitable" neighbor outside the door had not yet left, so Han Fei could not go out for the time being. After thinking it over, he decided to try the beginner's task.

“If that ghost comes after me again, I’ll open the security door. If my neighbor on the sixth floor is accidentally killed by the ghost, I’ll find a way to take his key and live in his house from now on, so that his sacrifice won’t be in vain.”

That's the ideal scenario, but in reality, Han Fei is more likely to be killed by his neighbor the moment he opens the door.

After opening the task panel, Han Fei hesitated for a long time before finally choosing the second beginner task—watching TV.

He had already discovered the ghost in the bathroom while doing the sleeping task. If he then chose the shower task, wouldn't that be like asking to have a close encounter with the ghost?
Player ID 0000 has accepted a G-level beginner quest: Watch TV!

"Mission Introduction: Since moving here, you've lost count of how many times you've suffered from insomnia. Unable to fall asleep, you decide to watch some TV."

"Task requirements: Please turn off all the lights in the room, turn on the TV, and watch any channel for thirty minutes. During the thirty minutes, please do not take your eyes off the TV screen."

The beginner's quest doesn't seem difficult just by looking at the description, but Han Fei knows that some things can't be judged by appearances alone.

Unable to leave the room, Han Fei had no choice but to bite the bullet and go on.

He turned off all the lights in the room and turned on the television at 3:05 a.m.

A hissing sound came from the old-fashioned box television, seemingly due to a poor signal; many channels had no picture, just a black and white static screen.

Before he knew it, the beginner's mission had begun. Han Fei sat upright on the sofa with the remote control in his left hand and a kitchen knife in his right, his eyes fixed on the TV screen.

"It's okay, just hold on for thirty minutes."

After constantly changing channels, Han Fei finally got a picture on the TV when he dialed channel 44.

The light was dim, and the images playing on the screen were not very clear, like an animated film, but Han Fei had never seen a similar animation before, because its art style was too bizarre.

"A mini-theatre of the underworld?"

Han Fei leaned forward as he tried to turn up the TV volume, when he suddenly heard footsteps.

The gradually clearer sound didn't come from the television, but from inside the bedroom.

Someone is moving around inside the house!
The footsteps grew closer to Han Fei, and the other person walked out of the bedroom and headed straight for him.

Is it that ghost?

"Could it be carrying a knife?"

Han Fei didn't dare to move, and the sound of his footsteps finally disappeared behind the sofa.

I was watching TV at home at three in the morning when I suddenly heard footsteps in the unlit room. The sound eventually disappeared behind me.

"Did he leave? Or did he stay standing behind me the whole time?"

His Adam's apple trembled slightly, but Han Fei resisted the urge to turn around, his eyes fixed on the television.

The animation on the screen had no sound. The little man with a mutilated body seemed to be hiding from something. Whenever he paused for a moment, an invisible hand would grab him and drag him backward.

Han Fei didn't know what the animation was trying to express. When the little man was caught for the third time, Han Fei felt a sudden weight on his left shoulder, as if something had been placed on him.

He didn't turn his head, but glanced at his left shoulder out of the corner of his eye and vaguely saw a pale white arm.

His heart began to pound uncontrollably. Han Fei gritted his teeth and forced himself to watch TV, but when he moved his gaze, he saw an even more terrifying scene.

A pair of legs appeared behind the TV cabinet where the box-shaped television was placed.

There was more than one ghost in this haunted house. Han Fei's body began to tremble. He really wanted to run over, open the security door, and invite his neighbor on the sixth floor to watch TV together.
