Chapter 4073 Life Awaits Birth

Iluna accompanied Shad to eat some snacks, and the eighteen-year-old girl was very curious:
"Luvia, that so-called 'Child of the End' shouldn't be a being born at the exact moment before the end of the world, right? Otherwise, wouldn't the end of the world have arrived the moment it was born?"

"Of course, it's not the 'end' that's measured in time."

Luvia shook her head:
“As I understand it, creating the ‘Children of the End’ means creating a completely new race, which is why they are required to have the ability to reproduce. That construct master is right. As the last race born in the world, the Children of the End are indeed tragic. So, Shad, is the ‘Moon Egg’ that you and Danist found considered a new race?”

She did indeed set her sights on the egg, and Shad had no way to answer the question:

"Theoretically speaking, it is indeed a race different from any other life form currently existing, but whether it can be considered a new race is still hard to say."

"Shad, when you saw that egg, couldn't you see its species?"

Iluna asked curiously, and Shad shook his head:
"That egg can only be considered a seed at present, and it has not yet become a real life, so it cannot be seen at present."

He continued eating, while Luvia summarized:
"With the new intelligence provided by the Construct Master, the things that the various forces in the Arcadia region are currently planning to do can all be summarized in this direction."

The Blood Spirit School's goal is a new kind of humanity; the Holy Son Alliance's goal is to create 'Abominations' containing unknown and terrifying power; the Truth Society, according to Shad, is building highly intelligent 'Difference Machines'; and the traitors of the Creation Church probably want to create a stable mechanical race. I wonder what the Emerald Alchemy Association and the Demon Eye Club are up to—whether they also want to create life.

Iluna had also heard Shad mention the "difference engine," so she asked Shad about it again:
"Isn't the Difference Engine also a machine? You said it's an automated computer. The ultimate goals of the Truth Society and the Church's traitors seem quite similar."

Shade shook his head:
“There is still a difference. The Differential Machine of the Truth Society is a large-scale computing machine. They probably want to create a living computer. As for the Construct Masters, they simply pursue life in mechanical construction.”

"Although the candidate has not yet appeared, I think Shad will definitely find out something soon."

Luvia was in a good mood because the investigation into the tenth candidate had made significant progress:

"However, there are so many illegal organizations in the Arcadia region right now, and not every one of them necessarily has a candidate. In my opinion, the [Holy Son Alliance] probably isn't here for the chosen ones at all; they're probably just using this opportunity to give birth to 'Abomination'."

“According to the Construct Master, these organizations are all trying to collect life energy, so I will have many more opportunities to deal with them in the future.”

Shad said, then paused, and reached out to pull out a chair for Winnie, who had just finished working in the kitchen:

Shad said regretfully, then casually touched Mia and looked at the [Withering Fire Ring] currently on the cat's tail. However, its side effect of causing life forms to wither is even more unacceptable than freezing:
“Winnie, now that I have obtained the relic that can use the power of the Wither, why don’t we try to see if your power can suppress the Wither?”

Shad then spoke to Winnie.

"Of course, no problem."

The ice maid then tried to touch the ring on the cat's tail, and as expected, she was met with a threatening "meow" from Mia, which made everyone laugh.

"Shad, why don't you eat dinner first? Winnie isn't going to run away. You've been busy all night, can't you let yourself rest for a bit?"

Luvia said with a sigh.

So for the rest of the dinner, instead of discussing serious matters, everyone listened to Iluna recount her experiences in Arcadia and her views on the Church of Creation:

However, the attack by Shad and the ‘Construct Master’ using the energy of the Fire Source had a permanent impact on the land where the Vatican is located. They'll probably have a real headache dealing with the repairs to the Vatican buildings later on.

The appearance of the "Construct Master" tonight proves that Shad's conjecture that the traitors had not left the Arcadia region is correct. However, Iluna is not concerned about this; her main task there is to help the Church of Creation maintain the stability of that spark source.

The "Spark" that remained in the Vatican has now been successfully contained, so she has returned.

Everyone finished dinner with Shad, and then they tested the power of "Wither" together. Although Mia meowed at Shad a few times, she still let Shad remove the [Wither Fire Ring] from her tail.

"Although the battle just now has demonstrated that Wither suppresses 'Twisted Life Seed', I still want to give it a try."

As he spoke, Shad made the source of the ignition emerge from the mark on his palm, and then guided a wisp of fire from it.

He wore the heirloom ring on his left hand:
"Miraculous Technique: Life Ray!"

The life force drawn through "Life Regeneration" took on a decaying, dim yellow hue under the ring's influence. The dim yellow light struck the twisted flame, and the flame, which had previously possessed a tiny tail of flame, was reduced to a mere grain of rice-sized glimmer flickering at Shad's fingertip.

"'Withering' cannot diminish life force, but it can greatly suppress life activity. This ring is of great significance to me. Not only will it allow me to suppress the power of other sparks when fighting them, but it will also allow me to suppress the life activity of enemies with strong life force when I encounter them in the future, thereby extracting their life force without defeating them."

Shad was quite pleased with the ring, but Mia seemed even more pleased with it, and Shad suspected that the cat might wear it tonight.

"Let's try Winnie's power."

Luvia continued, and Shad nodded, first containing the distorted flame back into the source of the flame, and then using "Life Return" to draw upon the external life force again.
