Chapter 3858 Miracles and Wishes
Chapter 3858 Miracles and Wishes
The morning sun quickly bathed the ruins atop the snow-capped mountain. The smoke of battle still lingered in the ruins, but the crowning ceremony of the Elf Queen dispelled the pent-up emotions of the night's fighting.
After the ceremony, Xia De left the mountaintop in a hurry without saying goodbye to anyone.
The reason is quite simple: at this moment, he should have finished the game as Shad Hamilton and be in a safe place.
After the card game ended last night, the other four players were sent back to where they came from by Ms. White. Among them, Claire's mother, Mrs. Reinhardt, even appeared directly in the Snow Mountain Hall, which is how the witches obtained first-hand information.
Although Mr. Snake stopped him, Shad knew he should have been in the city. Despite the chaos in the city last night, Shad believed the prophets wouldn't forget him, and therefore they should have already discovered his "disappearance."
Therefore, this morning's return should occur in a very appropriate place, and the reason for the disappearance should be explained in a suitable way.
There's no need for Shad to worry about this; Luvia has already taken care of it.
Therefore, after the road from the city to Kyle-Todd was reopened this morning, the town sent a message to the Prophet's Association informing them that Mr. Shad Hamilton had been in town with Mrs. Reinhardt the previous night.
Because of the intense battle last night, information about Xia De's whereabouts could not be relayed to the association immediately.
Considering that the island is not yet completely safe, the association did not require Shad to return to Time Wheel City immediately. Instead, it sent prophets, represented by Luvia, to the town to ascertain Shad's situation.
Yesterday, Luvia was assigned to the team that helped defend the town, so her absence all night didn't arouse suspicion.
Therefore, early Saturday morning, as the aroma of breakfast wafted through the Snow Mountain Hall, the group from the Prophet Association met Shad in his room upstairs. Shad greeted them with a yawn, feigning drowsiness—he was actually quite energetic after absorbing two drops of divinity. After a brief examination, the prophets, seeing that Shad was not injured but merely somewhat tired, did not disturb him further and instead told him to rest in the town.
“Mr. Hamilton, there are still some dangers on the island, so please stay in this town this morning and don’t go out easily. The Fatu people will take care of you. We will come to see you again this afternoon regarding what happened last night and your follow-up arrangements.”
Luvia, representing the association, informed Shad, and because there were other people present, she spoke very politely:
"In addition, the other players have informed the association about the 'wish' matter. The lady who hosted the game has not reappeared. If you have any experiences related to 'wish fulfillment' around you, please inform the association or church as soon as possible."
Each of the five players in the game has their own wish, and Ms. White mentioned that Shad's wish is to heal Queen Diana.
Thinking of Ms. White, Shad felt a little sad. He nodded slightly, then asked if the people represented by the identity cards in last night's card game were also safe. After Luvia brushed him off with "Sorry, we are not allowed to disclose this information," he bid farewell to the Seer and his group, watching them leave the room.
He walked alone to the window, looked at the azure sky outside, and sighed. Then he picked up the cat from the windowsill, put it on his shoulder, and turned to Grace and Helen, asking:
"Is breakfast ready on the ship?"
The Red Butterfly sisters replied with a smile:
"Yes, sir, everyone is waiting for you."
This time, even they, who never liked participating in group activities, attended breakfast on the Radiant Messenger. Adele had left, and the witches could speak freely again.
When Shad arrived at the banquet hall, Galina excitedly gave him a hug, but Vanessa pulled her away just as she was about to kiss him. Bella teased Shad about how familiar he had become with their Speaker, Megan remarked on how handsome Shad looked during the coronation ceremony, and Sylvia inquired if Shad was tired, inviting him to sit down and eat.
Shad smiled and looked at everyone present before speaking:
"Thank you."
The girls' laughter and chatter stopped abruptly. Galina grabbed Shad's arm and pulled him to sit down at the head of the long table.
"Really, shouldn't we be the ones thanking you? Everyone here has had their fate changed with your help."
The girls sitting or standing around the table all smiled, and the Duchess finally found an opportunity to kiss Shad on the cheek:
"Sit down and eat. We have to attend the elves' banquet tonight. Otherwise, we were planning to have a victory party on the ship."
"Jalina, don't steal any food!"
Sylvie complained, which made everyone laugh again. The red-haired duchess didn't mind; she smiled and gazed at Shad's face, then left another kiss on his cheek.
Most of the girls were very tired, so they ate breakfast in a hurry.
After breakfast, Galina and Tifa said goodbye to Shad and returned to Topsk, though they would come back tonight. Grace and Helen also bid Shad a sweet farewell; the old story was over, and they knew they would have plenty of time to date Shad during his upcoming vacation.
Having long since lost their patience, Lacey and Dorothy dragged Shad to the bedroom shortly after breakfast:
"There's not much time left until the Day of the Crimson Butterfly! We followed your instructions and didn't try to summon the [Savior], so we deserve a reward!"
"Wait a minute, let me say a few words to Sylvie first."
Shad had not forgotten this incident, nor had the princess and the writer:
“We found out about you and Sylvia. We already talked to her before we put on makeup. We’ll let her have the daytime, but tonight is hers.”
The cat was being held by Matilda, while the blonde maid, who had just sneaked a "snack," smiled and waved goodbye to Shad. Adelina stood there watching Shad be "dragged away" by her sisters, the eighteen-year-old princess feeling a mix of emotions.
The three of them went together to Shad's room on the ship, and then went to the bathroom first. Dorothy immediately noticed the traces left by the maids, and after Shad was forced to explain what had happened in the "dressing room," Lacey smiled and narrowed her eyes:
"The cool, refreshing feeling is nice, isn't it?"
"Oh! Lacey, don't let the water get cold, I want to take a hot bath!"
This is Dorothy's complaint.
After the door to Shad's cabin closed, everyone on the ship wisely refrained from disturbing him. However, around 10 a.m., a knocking sound rang out, followed by Lacey's extremely disgruntled voice from inside the room:
"who is it?"
"it's me."
Luvia's voice came from the corridor. Knowing she wouldn't bother her without a reason, Lacey could only say with displeasure:
"Come in, we didn't lock the door."
The door was opened and then closed again. The girl with purple eyes looked at the clothes scattered all over the living room floor of the suite, and the trail of wet footprints on the carpet stretching from the bathroom to the bedroom. She couldn't help but raise her eyebrows:
"There's only one set of footprints for the three people, so it seems they've merged together. Those two really do love being hugged."
She entered the room, and a familiar scent wafted towards her. The curtains by the porthole were tightly drawn, but the room was filled with incense that had a strange fragrance. It was unclear which of the three of them was casting a spell, but the light in the room had turned an ambiguous dark red.
The mere presence of this environment made Luvia's heart race as she walked in.
Dorothy was standing barefoot on the carpet, having just put on her nightgown, while behind her, on the bed with its curtains drawn, lay the figure of a female knight practicing her riding skills.
"Luvia, what brings you here? Is something the matter?"
Dorothy asked, pausing occasionally to catch her breath, her tone sounding almost like a coquettish whining to Luvia. Luvia then understood that although they were no longer in a fused state, they were still definitely "sympathetic."
"What are we going to do down here? We can chat just as well up here."
The mischievous fortune teller then laughed and said that Dorothy hummed in response, slapped her lightly, and then pulled her to sit down on the edge of the bed.
Because the curtains were drawn, the two sat on them. Behind the curtains, Lacia continued practicing while saying:
"Good morning, Luvia, is something the matter? How about we go together? Oh! How about we go together?"
"Lacia~"
Then came Shad's voice, a snapping sound, and a sweet, cloying response from a certain princess.
Dorothy's face was turning even redder, and Luvia noticed that her right hand, which was clutching the sleeve of her nightgown, was trembling.
Suppressing her inner turmoil, Luvia coughed and said:
"You guys really know how to cut to the chase. I didn't mean to bother you, I just wanted to tell you this news while the three of you are all here."
She paused, making sure all three were listening to her with her rhythmic voice, and even looked at her from behind the curtain. Luvia then spoke:
"It's about the Ring of Miracles. I tested Shad's ring, did some divination with Bella, and finally asked Ellie for her opinion."
The current conclusion is that if you take that ring to the temple to make a wish, while it won't completely eradicate the curse between you, it can weaken it, but that's only temporary. It should last about one to two years, during which time you can meet once every seven days.
Dorothy tried hard not to let her voice tremble:
"This is already very good. Both Lacia and I feel that the current situation is actually good. Being able to see each other only once every 21 days makes the sweetness even more intense. After all, the sweetest fruit always comes to Lacia, so slow down a bit."
