Chapter 3815 Ruins, Yellow Sand, and Miss Pavo

Chapter 3815 Ruins, Yellow Sand, and Miss Pavo

The battle has been raging for several hours since Ellie broke the first seal on Friday night. Fortunately, the intensity of the battle is gradually increasing as the seals are destroyed one by one, so most of the people fighting in the snow mountain have not yet shown any obvious signs of fatigue.

Winnie's power caused a blizzard to conceal Shad's tracks, so the flying monsters didn't notice him. The two quickly arrived at the outer edge of the Peak of Destiny. Looking towards the summit from afar, they could see magnificent ritual arrays blooming one after another in the air. The whistling of magical spells and the roars of evil creatures tore through the wind, while the shimmering spiritual light almost turned night into day.

Pink crystals formed a platform near the summit, the stone golems summoned by the Earth Witch shook the mountains, the emerald glow of elven magic seemed to bring down giant trees, and the golden miracle light of the Five Gods Church's divine magic resembled the sun in the night sky.

The dragon breathed its power on the monsters climbing the mountain from the summit, while the sorceress with angelic bloodline sprouted wings on her back, appearing as if a true angel had descended.

Of course, there's also the golden-haired Time Witch who manipulates the order of time, to the point that the chaos of time around her has even distorted her own figure.

The intensity of the battle was even more exaggerated than Shad had imagined. At least ten thirteenth-ring sorcerers had gathered here, including the witches, which would have been enough to start a direct battle with the final enemy in the past.

At this moment, all they were doing was guarding the summit, giving the candidates and even those chosen later a chance to retreat. The path of redemption leading to the ruins at the summit was becoming increasingly clear, but the sandstorm blowing from the entrance was much denser than when Ellie and her companions had ventured in, clearly indicating that the situation inside the ruins was far from optimistic.

There were quite a few ring wielders present who possessed counterfeit rings, but apart from a few who accompanied the four candidates into the ruins, most of the other "ring holders" were held back here by the "fake ring beasts" and the "ring holders" under Mr. Snake's command and could not leave.

Shad believed that the Church was definitely trying its best to mobilize more high-ring sorcerers to come here, but at present, manpower was needed everywhere on the island and at sea, not to mention that the dense fog had spread to the coastline of the old continent, where help was also needed. Therefore, it was unlikely that a large number of reinforcements would appear at the summit in the short term.

"Winnie, fly a little higher. That's about right, just stay here. Silver Moon Slash - Falling Star Strike!"

Like a shooting star streaking across the night sky, but when the bright silver streak actually reached her head, Adele Isabella realized it was a beam of moonlight in the shape of a cross.

Shad didn't aim at the enemies on the summit; the falling moonlight passed over the peak and struck downwards. Emilia on the summit couldn't see what was happening below, but she could see all the enemies blocking her path melting in the moonlight.

When Shad flew back up, his right hand gripped the arm of the "priest" from the [Members of the Unity] with the distinctive hairstyle. Winnie had entered the summit area first to clear a path for Shad, and the people fighting there intentionally blocked the surrounding enemies, allowing Shad and the candidate to approach the entrance to the ruins.

Sylvie glanced at Shad, indicating that he didn't need to greet him. Galina and Megan also didn't approach. So Shad stepped forward and appeared directly next to Winnie. He then took the "priest's" arm and entered the "Path of Atonement" with Winnie.

The summit ruins are not actually visible; what is shown here is only the latter half of this path. However, once you enter the Path of Atonement, you can directly see the scenery behind the archway of the ruins above.

Shad and Winnie quickly went up and soon reached the end of the stone steps.

"Why do you want to help me?"

Only then did the cultist ask the question, to which Shad casually replied:
"Since we've happened to meet, I'll lend you a hand. I don't think you, who are so far behind, have any chance of becoming a chosen one. Besides, even if you did have that possibility, after cooperating with the [Cult of Doom] for so long, the believers of Doom have probably already prepared ways to deal with you."

Helping you enter the ruins only increases the chances of finding the Upper Spring.

A blizzard was also falling inside the ruins, but fortunately, although fine sand was blowing in the wind, the night above the ruins remained dark. The yellow sand was coming from the direction of the temple, and Shad glanced in that direction, but because of the wind, snow, and the obstruction of the ruins' crumbling walls, he couldn't immediately see what was happening at the temple.

Although the "pre-apocalyptic" scenery hadn't yet appeared outside the temple, the area was clearly already being affected by the apocalyptic forces. This force severely interfered with Shad's senses, to the point that even he couldn't immediately locate Ellie and Stella.

"Go and find Shangquan. Since Mr. Snake is still trapped, it means that Act VII is not over yet."

Shad spoke to the "priest," then ignored him and went through the archway with Winnie into the ruins.

Winnie has a curved ring on her body, which allows her to move around in this area for the time being. Shad plans to split up with her.

"Go find Stella and the others. Take all three runes that Sylvia gave you. I have the glass slipper; I can leave anytime I want."

The ice maid did not question her master's decision:

"So where are you going?"

"The temple. Although Shangquan can condense the Ring of Destiny, it is uncertain whether he will succeed and how long it will take. However, the miracle in the temple can definitely be obtained."

Shad said:

"I'll go check on the temple. You go help Stella and the others find the Upper Spring to gather destiny as soon as possible. Once Act VII ends, as the player, I should be able to immediately obtain a twenty-sided die with a decent score. I'll then exchange all the points for the second ring. As for the third ring, that depends on luck."

"Once the seventh act is over, I will immediately take them to the temple to meet you."

Winnie nodded gently and then transformed into a wisp of frost, flying into the distance. Shad, on the other hand, headed towards the source of the yellow sand. Unlike the battlefield-like exterior of the ruins, there were no enemies inside this ancient site of destiny; he only needed to choose a direction and move forward.

Why not go to the higher cliffs, to the Oracle Square, and obtain the Ring of Fortune?

"She" asked at that moment, and Shad shook his head:
“I have a feeling that once I get there, I’ll be facing ‘fate’ directly. The Oracle Square, the Cliff of the Saints—these names are so suggestive. Tonight is the final battle of fate, and even I can sense where fate will lead me.”

Shade looked up and gazed at the high point of the ruins through the wind and snow:

"Besides, I'm not sure if I can dig [Luck] out of the plaza's paving stones right now. So unless it's absolutely necessary, I won't go there for the time being."

Just as Xia De had thought, the source of the yellow sand in the wind was the temple. When they saw the temple from afar, its doors were open, and a dim yellow light emanated from them, casting a yellowish glow under the eaves of the temple entrance.

The candidates who had already entered the ruins would certainly not come to such a place, but when Shad arrived at the temple entrance, he still saw footprints on the snow.

Without hesitation, he entered the light at the entrance, marking his third visit to the temple of the god of fate.

Surprisingly, there was no wind or dim light inside the temple. Apart from the gravel piled up in the corners and the walls, floors, and ceilings looking as if they had been ravaged by tens of thousands of years, the only difference between this place and the last time I visited was that the seventh mural was more than half completed.

The mural depicts a group of people playing cards in the Drowned Tavern, but the five card players and Ms. White are only located at the edge of the picture. The scattered cards on the card table in the center of the picture are the focus of this mural.

The cards each depict the faces of five candidates, but the one truly at the center of the table is the one with two unicorns and a cat.

This makes it easy to identify who the real protagonist is in the seventh mural.

"In this way, Ellie appears on the murals of all six acts except for the sixth act, 'The Great Symphony of Fate'."

Of course, because the story of Act VII is not yet over, one-third of the seventh mural is still in a dimly colored state. But judging from the current progress, it probably won't be long before the mural is completed.

Uezumi will definitely be found tonight, otherwise, until the seventh act ends, Mr. Snake will never be able to appear on the "stage" in his true form.

Of course, although the temple only looked a bit dilapidated, it gave Shad a feeling similar to "before the apocalypse." And he wasn't the only one there; when Shad entered, Miss Pavo was standing by the wall, looking up at the seven murals.

Turning around at the sound, the current president of the [Truth Society], dressed in a black dress, nodded to Shad:
"Caller of the Gods, it's been almost half a year since we parted ways in Vistalin last winter. I'm so glad to meet you here again."

Shad was not surprised by her presence here:

"You had the [Assembly of All Things] send me a message saying they would wait for me here, and I didn't expect you to actually come. Why didn't you wait until everything was over before coming here to have the [Assembly of All Things]'s candidate fulfill their promise and give you that Ring of Miracles?"

The sorceress, who had an ordinary appearance but exceptionally bright eyes, smiled and said:

"Because I don't trust those cultists, it's better to see for myself. Compared to unpredictable fate, the Truth Society believes more in simple numbers and definite experimental results. I am curious about fate, but I also have a great deal of awe for it."

I didn't want to get involved in this story, but I was curious about how it would end, so I came here to wait.
