Batian Martial Soul

Chapter 14000: How about we have a meal together?

The young demon king walked calmly into the city, his eyes serene and indifferent, as if nothing in the world could arouse his interest.

He raised his hand to signal the people behind him to stop, and stepped into this city full of unknowns alone.

The streets were bustling with activity, filled with the shouts of vendors and the laughter of pedestrians.

Vendors enthusiastically greeted passersby, displaying their wares; pedestrians strolled along the streets in small groups, chatting and laughing, enjoying this moment of tranquility and joy.

However, when the young demon king walked by, the once bustling street instantly fell silent.

People cast curious glances at him, some whispering among themselves about the suddenly appearing boy; others looked terrified, as if they had seen something horrible.

No one expected that this seemingly ordinary young demon king was actually one of the two kings who controlled the powerful demon sea.

His arrival was like a boulder thrown into a calm lake, shattering the tranquility of Batian City and signaling the coming of a storm.

Just then, on the bustling street, a man with a big smile approached the young demon king like a slippery eel.

The smile plastered on his face was fake and pretentious, his mouth stretched wide, revealing a few crooked, yellow teeth, and his eyes gleamed with a malicious light, like a hungry wolf lurking in the dark, watching its prey.

He looked the young demon king up and down, his gaze seemingly trying to see right through him, before speaking in a fawning tone: "Little brother, judging from your appearance, you're new to Batian City, aren't you? This Batian City is a mixed bag, quite complicated."

The boy nodded slightly, his cold gaze sweeping over the man like an icy blade.

The man couldn't help but shiver at the innate authority and indifference in those eyes.

Upon seeing this, a cunning glint flashed in the man's eyes, a cunning gaze like a venomous snake hidden in the darkness, ready to strike at any moment.

He quickly put on a concerned expression and said, "There are a lot of bad people in this Batian City. As someone who is new here, you have to be careful! You might get targeted by bad people at any time, and then it will be too late to cry."

The Demon King glanced coldly at the man, a flash of red light in his eyes, which resembled a burning flame, carrying boundless intimidation.

Immediately, he turned and left without hesitation, each step firm and powerful, as if declaring his disdain for such a despicable person.

After he had walked more than ten steps away, the man suddenly collapsed to the ground as if all his strength had been drained.

His body convulsed on the ground, blood gushing out, quickly staining the ground beneath him like blooming, bewitching yet terrifying flowers.

Upon seeing this, the people around screamed in terror and scattered in all directions, turning the once bustling street into chaos in an instant.

The Demon King seemed oblivious to the commotion behind him and continued toward the Imperial Palace.

His steps were firm and composed, as if nothing in the world could stop him.

Before long, he arrived at the imperial palace.

A man stood with his hands behind his back, his posture upright like a pine tree; it was Ling Xiao.

He wore a light blue robe, the hem of which fluttered gently in the wind, like a cloud swaying in the breeze.

A smile curved his lips, a smile as warm and gentle as the spring sunshine, and he said in a clear voice, "Welcome to Batian City. Today, as you step into this imperial palace, you have forged a bond with Batian City."

The Demon King stared directly into Ling Xiao's eyes, his gaze like a sharp sword piercing straight into Ling Xiao's heart.

His tone was calm yet sharp, as if concealing countless murderous intents: "The lives and deaths of countless people in Batian City are all in your hands! You should think carefully, because your decision today will determine the fate of Batian City."

Ling Xiao pondered for a moment, a complex look flashing in his eyes.

Then, he stepped forward, still wearing that confident smile, and said, "Let's not talk about these unpleasant things. In this life, good food is something we shouldn't miss. Here, I've made a few dishes, let's eat and chat."

With that, he waved his right hand, and a soft light flashed, instantly revealing a crystal-clear jade table in front of the two of them.

The jade table emitted a faint luster, as if it were carved from a huge piece of beautiful jade.

The table was laden with tempting dishes: bright red sweet and sour pork ribs, emitting a sweet and sour aroma; golden and crispy fried chicken wings, making one's mouth water; and vibrant green vegetables, refreshing and delicious.

The fragrance filled the entire imperial palace.

The Demon King did not refuse. He sat elegantly at the table, his posture upright, and his every move exuded a noble air.

He looked at the dishes on the table, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes, as if he hadn't expected Ling Xiao to have such culinary skills.

"You did it?"

He raised an eyebrow slightly, his tone tinged with doubt.

Ling Xiao nodded confidently, his eyes full of pride. "I made these! Every single one of these dishes is one of my specialties. I guarantee you'll never forget them."

Just as the Demon King was about to pick up his chopsticks, a nimble figure suddenly appeared.

The little fox appeared beside Ling Xiao. She was wearing a pink fluffy jacket, and her fluffy tail swayed gently behind her like a soft ribbon.

She blinked her big eyes, which were like two crystal-clear gems, sparkling with lively light. Looking at the food on the table, she drooled with desire.

"I want to eat too!"

She spoke in a childish voice, her voice as clear and melodious as a silver bell.

Ling Xiao threw his head back and burst into loud laughter. His hearty and unrestrained laughter echoed throughout the imperial palace, as if it were about to break free from the palace's constraints.

"Okay, let's eat together! But we must be mindful of our hospitality; we should let the guests start first."

As he spoke, he gestured for him to enter, his face full of enthusiasm and generosity.

The little fox responded obediently, its voice soft and sweet, like a gentle breeze in spring.

She immediately turned her head and looked at the young demon king with wide, expectant eyes, as if urging him to start eating.

The young demon king looked the little fox up and down, his eyes filled with scrutiny and surprise.

The little fox was petite and delicate, with snow-white fur without a single blemish, shimmering with a soft luster under the light.

Her nine fluffy tails swayed gently, like nine blooming white flowers.

"Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox, the future holds limitless possibilities!"

The young demon king spoke softly, his voice low but carrying an undeniable certainty.

The little fox tilted its head and asked curiously, "Does it mean it's very powerful?"

Her eyes sparkled with a thirst for knowledge, like those of a child yearning for learning.

The young demon king nodded, his expression serious. "That's right, the nine-tailed celestial fox is a spiritual creature of heaven and earth, with boundless potential and limitless future achievements." (End of Chapter)
