Chapter 774 Inertial Compensators and Student Delegation

Chapter 774 Inertial Compensators and Student Delegation
Inertial compensator.

A science fiction technology from the Star Wars universe.

This technology was not originally intended for pilots and fighter jets; the inertial compensator is one of two key science fiction technologies that emerged with the development of hyperspace jump technology.

Another technology is called the Relativistic Shield, which is used to shield or counteract the relativistic effects (time dilation) during faster-than-light travel, keeping the spacecraft's time flow consistent with the external universe, while also resisting the impact of dark matter particles.

Hyperspace jumps in the Star Wars universe and subspace jumps in the Warhammer 40K universe, as well as various faster-than-light travel methods in other science fiction universes, may seem very similar, but they also have many different settings and details.

Subspace jumps are essentially tearing open the barrier between the physical universe and the immaterial world, creating an opening that allows a spacecraft to enter subspace. During this process, the relative speed between the spacecraft and the physical universe does not change significantly.

Hyperspace jumps utilize supermatter particles to propel a spacecraft into hyperspace. During this process, the relative speed between the spacecraft and the real universe becomes extremely high. Theoretically, the spacecraft and its crew would experience accelerations of thousands or even tens of thousands of Gs during the journey—while ordinary humans can only withstand accelerations of eight to nine Gs at most. Therefore, inertial compensators were developed to eliminate the effects of acceleration on the crew.

In other words, inertial compensators and relativistic shields were initially auxiliary facilities for hyperspace drives. However, it was soon realized that inertial compensators could also be installed on manned aircraft without hyperspace drives, which would completely eliminate the negative effects of high-G maneuvers such as hovering, sharp turns, and rolls on the pilot's body, allowing them to perform maneuvers with greater turning ranges.

This is why the Imperial Naval Academy's training facilities do not have large centrifuges for training G-force tolerance, and Imperial and Rebel pilots do not need to wear thick, heavy anti-G suits—because of inertial compensators.

Therefore, aerial combat in the Star Wars universe is often more intense and complex than aerial combat in other science fiction universes, because there is no need to worry about the excessive load of maneuvers putting pressure on the pilot's body and the fighter jet's structure.

In the Warhammer 40K universe, the Imperials of Man lacked the advanced technology of inertial compensators, so mortal pilots of the Army and Navy had to wear heavy anti-G suits. This is why the Swordtail-class interceptors, which are Space Marine-specific aircraft that mortals cannot fly, exist. The Astartes can withstand higher G-forces, and their strong physiques are natural anti-G suits.

But now, Fu Qinghai is asking his team members to manually modify and lower the output power of the inertial compensator.

"Blade II, setup complete."

Elwin was the first to speak and reply.

"Blade III, setup complete."

"Blade IV, setup complete."

The remaining four team members also responded.

The inertial compensator creates a weightless cavitation bubble for the fighter jet and pilot, preventing blood backflow due to G-forces or causing blackouts and redouts for the pilot. However, Fu Qinghai felt that this would only completely isolate him from the fighter jet, making it impossible for him to accurately perceive the situation he was facing.

Flying in an environment where the sense of acceleration is eliminated is like trying to pick up a handful of salt from the ground while wearing thick gloves. You might be able to pick it up, but it would be much easier without the gloves. Flying requires the use of all senses, but an inertial compensator cuts off all perception of motion.

"Flying is not a visual sport."

Fu Qinghai said calmly over the communication channel:

"This is the secret I'm going to teach you. Those who only rely on their eyes to fly will never become top fighter pilots. Use your bodies to carefully feel and experience the oppressive feeling that comes with every turn and sharp turn."

Fu Qinghai led his team in emergency training, especially resistance training for the neck muscles, in order to meet the special requirements he has now put forward.

Well-developed muscles can effectively contract and compress blood vessels when G-forces occur, reducing the flow and accumulation of blood in the lower limbs.

Of course, Fu Qinghai did not expect that a short month of special training would be enough for these trainees to fully adapt to the pressure brought by the load. The advantage of the inertial compensator is that it does not only have the two options of turning it on and off. It can also adjust the output power. In addition, Calida itself is a high-gravity environment, so the team members should not have any problem adapting.

Fu Qinghai glanced out the canopy glass and saw ground crew waving light sticks at him, indicating that they were ready.

"Take off and begin live-fire exercises."

Fu Qinghai calmly issued the order.

The TIE fighter jets detached from their landing gear one by one.

Although his true identity was an undercover agent for the rebel alliance, Fu Qinghai still decided to teach these trainees something real. He did have a factional stance, but he also had his own interests to consider: he wanted military merits, he wanted promotions, he wanted to build his own team... These things couldn't be obtained by pretending and getting by; they required solid achievements.

Setting the inertial compensator to 75% and using one's body to feel the pressure changes during flight was the first secret Fu Qinghai taught his pilots.

If Fu Qinghai can truly rise through the ranks in the Imperial Army as he and Yevander have said, this approach could very well become a hallmark of his school of thought.

……

Evening, Calida Military Academy, bar.

Fu Qinghai and his four teammates from the Blade Squad were sitting in a private booth, drinking and chatting happily.

After a long day of training, Fu Qinghai offered to treat his teammates to drinks, and they all readily agreed. So they went to a bar halfway up the mountain. As soon as Fu Qinghai sat down, he ordered a bunch of rather expensive drinks and generously declared that they could drink as much as they wanted, and that he would pay for the meal.

Upon hearing this, the four team members immediately beamed with joy.

Fu Qinghai chose these four people purely based on their performance in the video recordings. He had no prior knowledge of their personalities, hometowns, family backgrounds, or social classes.

Since he was going to build his own team, and these four people happened to have this special experience, they were naturally good candidates for development. Fu Qinghai planned to take advantage of this drinking opportunity to subtly probe his teammates from various dimensions such as family background, temperament, personality, and social class, to see if they were suitable to join his secret little group, the Sky Eagle Society.

From the perspective of the four boys, although Qingshan was their classmate, he was exceptionally capable, which convinced everyone. Moreover, he was generous and magnanimous, and his temperament and personality seemed to be the kind that was decisive, efficient, and did not engage in backstabbing. He was simply the most perfect and ideal boss, so the four of them were naturally happy to follow him.

As for why I didn't call him Elowin? Because in some situations, it's very inconvenient to chat when there are women present.

In fact, as the most famous star student of this class at the Calida Military Academy, Fu Qinghai had many classmates who wanted to get to know him and curry favor with him, far more than just the four in the booth. However, he was usually too lazy to deal with these social activities. Almost all of his spare time was occupied by absorbing knowledge and cultivating his Origin Force, which made him seem somewhat aloof to others. He gave people the impression that he was not good at socializing and did not like socializing, which caused some people who wanted to get to know him to back down.

After all, improving his personal strength was always Fu Qinghai's top priority. Other things, such as cultivating his own team and earning assimilation points, were secondary. Therefore, he initially entrusted the task of developing Sky Eagle Society members to Yevander, letting the person with the expertise do what he was good at.

However, this doesn't mean that Fu Qinghai is really bad at socializing. He's just too lazy to deal with these things. When he really wants to understand someone, he can get the information he wants through intentionally guided conversations and meticulous observation, and use that information to evaluate his teammates.

……

Time unknowingly came to night.

Fu Qinghai returned to his single dormitory room alone.

He reeked of alcohol, but remained clear-headed and calm. When he placed his palm on the fingerprint lock, he keenly noticed a slight difference in the feel of the touch—the panel seemed to have been pried open.
Fu Qinghai's eyes suddenly sharpened.

The gray metal door slid open silently to both sides.

Fu Qinghai slowly walked into his room.

He had already mentally prepared a combo of Force skills.

Then he saw: Roxie, with her messy, curly black hair loose, wearing a white towel wrapped around her chest, was lounging on his bed with her legs crossed.

The sound of running water came from the bathroom next door.

Roxie seemed to have just finished showering; she was engrossed in reading on a holographic e-reader, holding it in her arms. She looked up at Fu Qinghai standing in the doorway and said:

Hi, you're back.

After speaking, he lowered his head again and continued browsing the courseware.

"I remember my room door had a fingerprint lock."

Fu Qinghai twitched the corner of his mouth and said.

"A mere fingerprint lock? How could it possibly stump me, the top student in the Department of Electrical Engineering? I cracked it in just a few minutes."

Roxie stared at the holographic reader in front of her without looking up, and said in a dismissive tone.

Roxie was still the top student in the Department of Electrical Engineering? Fu Qinghai really didn't know that before. He had never paid attention to his friends' academic performance. He only knew that Yevander's grades seemed to be average while Hussein's grades seemed to be quite good.

You can't judge a book by its cover. Roxie usually wears cornrow dreadlocks and has some weird cyberpunk-style tattoos on her body, looking like a rebellious and bad girl. But she's actually a top student.

At this moment, the sound of water in the bathroom stopped, the bathroom door was pulled open, and Elwin walked out of the bathroom with a white towel wrapped around his head and held in one hand, wearing Fu Qinghai's large shirt, his two long, white legs bare, and a damp, misty steam rising from the bathroom.

"Oh, you're back."

Elowen looked up at Fu Qinghai and said.

Fu Qinghai looked down and saw that Elowin's shirt was loose and the buttons below the collar were not fastened, revealing his smooth, protruding breasts.

"How much did you drink? You smell strongly of alcohol."

Elowin brought his nose closer and sniffed:

"Would you like to take a shower first?"

"Oh, whose little darling is this?"

Roxie glanced in their direction with a look of disgust.

Elowin completely ignored her sarcasm, reached out and unzipped Fu Qinghai's coat, saying at the same time:

"I'll throw your clothes in the laundry for you too."

Tsk, two big gluttons...

Fu Qinghai thought to himself:

I don't know what kind of agreement those two made in private, but they both came to my dorm room because they were eyeing my muscular physique, and even cracked the fingerprint lock.

Fine, two people it is then.

It doesn't matter whether they take turns or go together.

He could have enjoyed himself even more.

…………

a week later.

Calida Military Academy, Gate of the Solar Storm.

The cadets of the Imperial Naval Academy formed several neat square formations and stood in the spacious hall at the main entrance of the school, following their instructors, ready to welcome the cadet delegation that had traveled from afar.

At this moment, in the plaza in front of the Solar Storm Gate, amidst the surging wind pressure whipping up chaotic dust, a flat and wide triangular warship was slowly descending.

Spark-class light aircraft carrier.

Fu Qinghai recognized the model of the ship.

With the support of three giant landing gears, the light aircraft carrier landed steadily on the square. Its lower part had four open square hangars, and a landing ramp extended downward from the hangar entrances. A group of male and female trainees in crisp training uniforms walked down the ramp in unison.

Fu Qinghai stood with his hands behind his back at the very front of the formation. He squinted slightly, his extraordinary vision allowing him to clearly see the expressions on the faces of each student in the distance. The two naval academies likely had image requirements when selecting representatives, as the students at the very front were all tall or slender, handsome men and beautiful women.

"stand at attention!"

The instructor standing in front of the formation shouted.

Five square formations stood solemnly, their black military boots striking the stone slabs with a dull, rhythmic "thump-thump."

Two middle-aged men with gray hair, wearing crisp white uniforms and bearing the rank insignia of major generals, walked up with smiles on their faces and shook hands warmly with the dean of the Imperial Naval Academy, who was standing at the front of the five formations. They whispered something to each other. Fu Qinghai guessed that these two men must be the leaders of the Coruscant Flight Academy and the Privsbelt IV Planet Naval Academy.

Fu Qinghai quietly perked up his ears.

Modify the cochlea and add the Force hearing.

He overheard the three people's hushed conversation.

Besides a bunch of routine pleasantries and small talk, Fu Qinghai also picked up a few interesting keywords:
Representatives from Sinofleet Systems also attended.

The carriages of Lord Vida and the judges.

TIE Advanced x1, TIE Advanced v1...

"salute!"

The instructor in front of Fu Qinghai shouted loudly.

All the trainees in the pilot formation raised their arms.

The three deans returned the greetings to the students and then walked away.
