Chapter 1694 The Third Path (Long Chapter, Requesting Monthly Tickets)

The dense fog began to contract in an instant, and the huge, dark void began to be covered by the scattered mist.

Riley's body fell from the sky, and the drifting earth regained its gravity.

At the top of the sky, the trembling void and the storm that tore apart the bottom of the world weakened in that instant.

A purple ray of light suddenly pierced the sky and shot into the dark void in the heavens.

The dim world echoed with light, but just before the purple light was about to fall into the void, a green light descended from the sky, forcefully intercepting the purple light from mid-air.

The moment the two beams of light collided, the dim void was torn apart, and countless dark, hollow cracks spread out from the point of impact.

These cracks spread extremely quickly, covering the entire sky in an instant, and even almost completely obscuring the dark void.

Countless green and purple rays of light collided, intertwined, and shook the very foundations of the world, stirring up a howling storm.

A terrifying and twisted suction force emanated from these cracks, drawing in countless shadows floating in the air, including Riley herself, and sweeping them towards the cracks.

At that moment, the huge, outward-spreading limbs contracted violently, then contracted inward at an even faster speed.

Naturally, waterfalls of mist formed between heaven and earth, drawing the mist from the earth into the sky through the gaps between the dark cracks.

The enormous, dark void was instantly covered by a thin layer of mist, and the thickness of the mist was increasing at a visible rate.

The reflections of those cities gradually took shape in the misty sky, while the shadows of the cities on the ground, along with the outlines of those figures, faded at a visible speed.

The green and purple lights that were fighting in the sky crossed for a fleeting moment, and then the purple light suddenly flashed past the green light and rushed towards the void that was gradually being covered by mist.

The green light accelerated instantly, following closely behind.

As the battle between the two beams of light ended, the black cracks that had spread across the entire sky disappeared rapidly at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Like stains wiped clean from glass, the sky quickly regained its original clarity and transparency.

People who were drawn up by the cracks quickly slid down as the cracks disappeared.

Gravity regenerated on the earth, drawing people floating in the air back to the ground.

Riley also fell from the sky. She watched the falling figures around her, raised her hand as if she had disturbed something.

A faint breeze rippled through the void, slowing the falling figures and halting their descent.

Above the sky, the green and purple beams of light had pierced through the thin mist and reached the enormous void.

The purple light suddenly surged forward, about to disappear into the gap between the twisted, hazy limbs in an instant.

But in that instant, a green glow appeared as if in a flash before the purple glow.

Immediately afterwards, a new green radiance descended from the sky and landed on top of the green radiance below. The two rays of light merged, and a surging green radiance spread out from all directions, enveloping the purple radiance.

Countless dark spatial rifts opened up again in an instant, then slowly closed up once more.

Caught off guard, the purple radiance was completely extinguished by the green radiance after a very brief pause.

After the purple radiance was extinguished, the green radiance did not hesitate. It turned around and plunged into the huge hole in the sky, passing through the gaps between the limbs and entering the deepest part of the limbs.

Those twisted, invisible limbs were rapidly converging, about to completely disappear into the void in an instant.

At this moment, where the purple radiance had been extinguished, faint specks of light flickered and floated out, then coalesced again into a faint purple radiance.

This radiance was much weaker than the previous one, almost imperceptible without careful observation, but it still appeared before the void as if by magic, piercing into the dense, twisted, and formless limbs.

In the next instant, countless twisted limbs were completely absorbed into the void, and a thick mist covered the sky.

The tearing and storming in the void seemed to end at this moment, as did the battle of the gods beyond the heavens.

One after another, illusory figures fell from the sky, returning to the city and to the earth. The mist that covered the entire city seemed to disappear completely at this moment.

The layers upon layers of urban illusions quickly dimmed and dissipated.

Riley landed on the ground and quietly watched the thick fog in the sky. Some invisible object seemed to be wriggling above the fog, but it quickly receded and disappeared into the fog.

She turned her gaze and looked around.

As the city's shadow disappeared into the wilderness, only the phantom of a solitary, old building remained between heaven and earth.

Future Building.

Riley looked up and, following the direction of the phantom, gazed at the corresponding spot in the sky.

The futuristic skyscraper shrouded in mist was also vaguely taking shape.

However, right before Riley's eyes, the building hanging upside down in the sky was visibly fading away as the mist rippled.

She lowered her head and looked ahead.

In her field of vision, the buildings that stood on the ground like phantoms were rapidly solidifying at the same speed.

Finally, the buildings on the ground solidified completely, while the inverted outlines in the sky completely blurred and disappeared. The vast mist in the sky writhed and returned to its original state.

boom--

A gentle breeze rustled through the lush green grass of the field, and in the instant the building on the ground solidified completely, its tightly closed doors suddenly swung open.

Willens

Denon's body landed back on the high-rise building. He looked up and watched as the surrounding mist dissipated as if it had never existed.

He looked up, but there was no reflection above him, nor any illusory emptiness.

He rubbed his forehead, as if he had just had a bizarre dream and had not yet recovered from the chaotic dream.

Beneath him, on the streets, dazed figures rose from the ground, looking around blankly.

Denor raised his head and looked ahead, towards the end of the city.

A ray of light is rising from the edge of the city, piercing the darkness and illuminating the city and its inhabitants on the skyline.

breaking Dawn.

He withdrew his gaze and looked ahead. The tall building standing in the city center still seemed to stand there, only now it had transformed into some kind of illusory phantom:
Future Building.

Future Building
Riley stepped through the quiet air as she walked down the narrow corridor.

Outside the window was a light mist, and beyond that, an endless plain stretched out.

She didn't know how long she had walked, but she raised her head and looked ahead.

A girl in a white dress stood quietly by the window, gazing at the fields outside.

As Riley approached, the girl seemed to hear footsteps as well.

She turned her head excitedly and looked in Riley's direction.

She paused for a moment when she saw Riley's face.

Then, she looked up, walked past Riley, and gazed behind Riley.

But all she could see was an empty, narrow corridor.

Her expression paused slightly, and her eyes lowered.

Riley gazed quietly at the girl in the white dress, her mouth slightly open, but she didn't know what to say for a moment.

But then, she heard the girl in the white dress speak softly, breaking the eerie silence, "Has he left?"

Upon hearing the question, Riley paused slightly, and finally nodded gently, saying, "Yes."

Upon hearing her answer, the girl in the white dress did not press further. She simply stood there quietly, slowly turned around, and looked out the window at the fields once more.

Riley walked over to her, slightly opening her mouth as if trying to say something.

thump—

Just then, she heard a slight noise behind her.

It seems to be in one of the rooms behind us.

Riley instinctively turned around and looked behind her.

Ding ding dong dong——

Just then, a cacophony of sounds began to emanate from the room behind them.

Immediately following was a sound of people exclaiming in surprise.

In that instant, the little girl in the white dress suddenly realized something, and she immediately turned around and rushed into the corridor behind her.

In the blink of an eye, she arrived at room 1821.

At that moment, a slight sound came from behind the door.

The girl in the white dress reached out and pushed open the door.

At that moment, Riley followed her movements and arrived behind her.

She looked up, her gaze following the open door to the scene inside.

At this moment, the two figures embracing in the room are coming to their senses in a daze, looking around.

Riley stared at the scene in disbelief.

Is there really a third way?

Just then, the woman holding the doll turned her gaze and saw the girl in the white dress standing at the door. She paused for a moment, rubbed her eyes, and then said in surprise, "Siwei? Aren't you in Xiluo City? What are you doing here?"

The girl in the white dress simply watched the scene quietly, then she suddenly rushed forward, entered the room, and reached out to hug the man and woman embracing inside. She lowered her head, her nose twitching slightly.

"Hey, what's wrong with you, girl?" The woman was a little confused by the hug, but she quickly reached out and hugged the girl in the white dress.

The man beside her also reached out and hugged the girl in the white dress, smiling as he said, "Alright, alright, you're here just in time. We were planning to go home soon anyway, so we'll take you to have some fun in Willens these next couple of days."

“Indeed, it’s perfect to stay here for a few days,” the woman said, then seemed to remember something, raising her hand to hand the brand-new doll to the girl in the white dress. “Look, this is the doll we bought for you. You really wanted this doll when you came here last year. Do you like it?”

The girl in the white dress let go of her parents' arms, lowered her head, and looked at the doll the woman handed her.

She sniffed, reached out and took the doll, holding it close to her chest. She looked up, her eyes filled with glistening mist, and hugged the doll tightly, nodding gently, "I like it."

Then she seemed to remember something, hugged the doll, took two steps back, and said, "Mom and Dad, I have something to do, I'll go out for a bit."

"Hey, you're not familiar with this place," the woman said instinctively, raising her hand. "Be careful, don't wander off!"

But before she could finish speaking, the little girl disappeared from the room.

Riley, standing at the door, didn't even realize what was happening.

She glanced at the somewhat bewildered couple in the room, gave them an awkward smile, and then followed the girl in the white dress.

Soon, they arrived at room 1812.

A slight noise came from the room, the sound of a table being moved.

The girl in the white dress grasped the doorknob, turned it, and pushed open the door.

Inside the room was the same middle-aged couple. They seemed to have just gotten up from the floor. The husband, with his square face, was placing a cookie box on the table, while his thin wife was swinging a bracelet in her hand.

"The bracelet seems to be out of power," the woman said softly, her head down. "I can't make calls."

"Charge it first," the man said, pulling out a charger from the side. "Turn it on and start playing, or Loren will get worried."

"Okay." The woman nodded.

Just then, she seemed to sense something, looked up at the door, and saw the girl in the white dress and Riley pushing the door open. "Who are you?"

The girl in the white dress didn't answer; instead, she went straight into the room.

She reached out and hugged the frail woman.

The woman paused slightly, gazing at the girl in the white dress before her, before reaching out and gently embracing her.

The room fell silent for a moment. After a brief pause, the girl in the white dress let go of her hand, looked up at the bewildered woman, and the equally bewildered man beside her.

“Uncle and Aunt,” she began softly, “I am Loren’s friend.”

Seeing the woman's questioning look, she twitched her nose and said softly, "Loren went to a very, very far place. Before he left, he asked me to take care of you all for him."

The woman's body stiffened slightly.

The girl in the white dress paused, looked up at the woman in front of her, and said hesitantly, "Can you treat me as your daughter?"

The thin woman stared blankly at the little girl in front of her. After a brief pause, she reached out and hugged the girl in the white dress again. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she smiled gently, "Okay, you look like a good child."

The girl in the white dress reached out again and hugged the woman in front of her.

After a brief pause, the two let go of each other's hands.

The girl in the white dress turned around and looked at the man beside her.

The two gave each other a light hug.

The girl in the white dress then let go of her hand and stepped back, saying, "Uncle and Auntie, please rest for a bit. I'll come back to find you later."

After saying that, she slowly stepped back to the door and gently closed it.

From inside the room, one could hear soft sobbing and the busy tone of a telephone dialing.

The girl in the white dress slightly raised her head and wiped away the tears on her cheeks.

"Why..." Riley looked at the girl in front of her with a blank expression.

“When he took me away from Xiluo City,” the girl said softly, her head bowed, “he said he would help me find my mom and dad.”
