Chapter 1677 The Primordial Wilderness, The Man Behind the Scenes (Seeking monthly votes at the end of the month)
Sizzle—click—
As the rusty, old elevator doors slowly opened, He Ao looked up and gazed outside.
A dense yet well-arranged array of 'shops' came into view.
The building owner transformed the entire first floor into a commercial area to facilitate shopping for the building's residents.
At this moment, some people in these shops are fleeing in panic, some are clutching their money boxes, and some are huddled in the corners.
Throughout the corridor, hurried crowds were scattered about.
But their movements froze at that final moment, like statues etched into time, forever fixed on the earth.
He quietly slipped through the gaps in the crowd and reached the outermost edge of the entire business district.
There was a narrow 'hall' of about one or two hundred square meters. This hall seemed to possess some kind of special 'power', as all the people who were frantically fleeing stopped at the edge of the hall and did not enter it.
Even if you cross this hall and reach the main exit, it's only a distance of ten or twenty meters.
Inside the lobby was a small 'stall' with a bright sign that read 'Check-in Registration'.
Inside the stall was an old, empty recliner.
In this 'empty' hall, the only figure was standing in front of the door.
He was a short, somewhat bald, white-haired old man wearing a simple striped shirt.
Unlike the rest of the panicked crowd on the first floor, the old man stood directly in front of the door, holding a silver baseball bat, glaring angrily ahead.
His eyes were wide open, and his relaxed muscles stretched his skin as if he were facing some heinous enemy.
He Ao walked up to the old man, paused for a moment, bowed slightly to him, then turned around and walked towards the tightly closed door in front of him.
The door is made of metal, but there is a window in it that allows people to barely see what's outside.
However, all that met the eye was a thick fog, and it was impossible to see what was inside.
He reached out, grasped the doorknob, and gently turned it.
But unlike the other doors in the building that open easily with a twist of the wrist, this door's lock seemed to be jammed and could not be opened.
He took two steps back and stared at the tightly closed door in front of him.
Is the main door locked? Is it impossible to leave this building? Or are there other rules for leaving?
Strictly speaking, the Future Building didn't seem to be like the anomalies he had seen before, filled with rules of killing and danger.
Since entering the building, apart from the figures frozen in the final moments of its collapse, he hasn't encountered a single obvious 'abnormal rule'.
This locked door was the first 'unusual' thing he encountered.
As he pondered, he turned his gaze and looked around.
There was a narrow little door to the side of the main gate, which was also tightly closed.
He Ao walked over and pulled on the small door, but it wouldn't open.
While pondering, He Ao turned around and looked again at the empty hall behind him.
Finally, his gaze fell on the old man holding a baseball bat, glaring angrily at the door.
The old man seemed to be the owner of the old building, and his actions were different from those of the residents who were running away or in fear. He seemed to be 'protecting' the building, or 'intimidating' the enemies outside the building.
This 'old man' is probably a key figure in this building.
With a thought racing through his mind, He Ao walked up to the old man and said slowly, "Sir, my name is Loren. My father is Ernst, and my mother is Triss. They were tenants in 1812. I am now..."

Before he could finish speaking, a crisp sound suddenly came from behind him.
He Ao turned around and looked behind him.
The small door next to the main gate, which had been tightly closed, was now slightly ajar.
An invisible mist was gently pushing the small door from the outside, seemingly trying to open it completely, but it was quickly pushed back by some invisible force.
ka ka ka-
The small door knocked on the doorframe, making a rapid and crisp sound, as if a voice behind him was urging He Ao to leave quickly.
He Ao turned to look at the old man holding a baseball bat in front of him, bowed slightly, and said, "Thank you."
Then he turned around and walked directly to the small door.
The moment he reached the small door, the door, which had been opening and closing, suddenly opened, and then, as if some invisible force swept past him, it pushed him on the back.
He Ao instinctively tried to dodge, but quickly regained control of his body. The force was neither too strong nor too weak, propelling his body forward and causing him to fall into the thick fog outside the door.
boom--
Immediately afterwards, the small, open door slammed shut, and the dimly lit hall returned to its deathly silence.
Only the old man holding the baseball bat remained standing in front of the door, maintaining a fighting stance, glaring angrily ahead.

Ilan City
Heo, who was controlling Pete's body, lowered his head and looked at the 'public computer' in front of him.
At a certain instant, users with network addresses in the northeastern part of the Federation disappeared from the network.
He searched for many users with web addresses in the northeastern part of the United States and tried to contact them privately, but all he got was silence.
Even those users who claimed to reply instantly did not respond.
Meanwhile, all websites with servers in the northeastern part of the Federation are now in a special inaccessible situation—the homepages of these websites are still accessible, but attempts to navigate to any secondary pages from the homepage result in a lag or loading screen.
He tried calling several municipal numbers in the northeastern United States using virtual phones, but the calls went unanswered. He also tried calling Reed and Denon's numbers, but the calls still went unanswered.
It was as if the northeastern part of the Federation had been silently erased from the world.
However, it seems that no one noticed any of this.
The entire federation continued to operate as usual, and no one noticed anything amiss.
He posted several updates online about the current situation in the northeastern United States.
There was no agreement, no rebuttal, not even a single view; nobody cared.
No information about the Northeast region being cut off can be found online, but previous information and news about the Northeast region still exist, and people are still discussing it.
It was as if everything was normal.
"Here's a news report from outside the city: A major pharmaceutical factory explosion occurred a couple of days ago in Xilo City in the northeastern part of the Federation. The accident released a large amount of hallucinogenic drugs, causing the hallucinogenic components in the air to be dangerously high. A brave 18-year-old hero broke into the factory and shut off the valves..."
A huge television screen hanging on the wall was currently broadcasting a news program.
People came and went in the spacious hall, but no one seemed to notice the news broadcast.
He Ao turned his gaze to the branded sign next to the television, which showed his current location:
Pete-King Hospital
He gently raised his hand, feeling the invisible rhythm deep within the world.

Old Future Building
The young body emerged from the thick fog, and He Ao raised his head to look at the hazy world around him.
A gentle breeze stirred in the void, blowing through the mist and seemingly dispersing some of the thick fog.
He Ao raised his head, looked in the direction from which the breeze was coming, and quickly moved forward.
As he moved forward, the thick fog around him began to dissipate rapidly, like snow and ice under the sun.
A vast yet dim world slowly unfolded in his field of vision.
The gray sky and the vast, verdant fields were reflected in his pupils.
He lowered his head and looked at the 'green grass' in the field. Those emerald green lines plunged into the dark earth and swayed in the wind, just like real grasslands.
He Ao gazed at the swaying green grass, his eyes slightly narrowed.
He raised his head and looked up at the sky.
The entire sky was shrouded in a hazy mist, a gray and indistinct expanse.
And in the hazy clouds, not far above He Ao's head, a somewhat old building was hanging upside down.
The building hung upside down in the sky, tilted slightly, like a sharp spike piercing the heavens and nailing itself to the sky.
Most of the building was obscured by the thick fog in the sky, with only a small part at the top vaguely visible.
That's the Future Building.
He Ao lowered his head and looked at the lush green fields in front of him.
This is the meadow he had visited in his previous dreams.
The Primordial Wilderness...
After going around in circles, we've returned to where we started.
“When you entered here, Wiestan was very surprised.”
A voice, tinged with emotion and a sigh, rang out in front of He Ao.
He Ao raised his head and looked ahead. Directly below the upside-down building, a capable figure wearing a simple, plain-colored robe and with her hair tied in a high ponytail stood quietly in the field.
He Ao didn't know when she appeared there. When he scanned his surroundings just now, he seemed to see her figure, but then again, he didn't.
However, he didn't care about any of that. He slowly walked forward to the side of the capable woman and, together with her, looked up at the Hope Building that hung upside down in the sky above.
“I never really thought I’d be able to get here,” He Ao said softly, gazing at the inverted futuristic building. “Am I the only surviving immediate family member among all the victims?”
“If no other problems arise in the sects of the major cities,” the capable woman said softly, “you should be the only one.”
She gazed at the futuristic skyscraper above her and sighed, "You should actually be able to sense that there's something special about your body."
“Anomaly?” He Ao said calmly. “I originally thought that this anomaly came from the assimilation of the anomalous houses.”
“That little girl’s power can’t assimilate you,” the capable woman shook her head slightly. “Your power comes directly from the connection to the anomaly built through your parents. Your body has essentially become an extension of the anomaly. That’s why your body is strong enough to withstand the angelic power that the god you prayed for.”
"It sounds like I'm of a pretty high status," He Ao chuckled.
This is also the fundamental reason why he descended into Loren's body without exploding directly.
Because of his special connection with the anomalous, Loren has essentially become one of the 'incarnations' of the anomalous to a certain extent.
Although Loren didn't want this 'special' treatment at all.
“I’m actually quite curious,” the capable woman said, turning her gaze to He Ao, “what price did you pay to the deity behind you to make Him willing to support you so much.”
“I don’t know either,” He Ao shook his head slightly, his gaze calm yet wistful as he stared at the futuristic skyscraper hanging upside down in the sky. “Just like I don’t know why you did these things.”
He turned to look at the capable woman. "Should I call you Estella, or Vestaen?"
“A name is just a label. You can still call me Estella if you want,” Estella turned to look at Heo. “When did you find out?”
“Estella, the Sky Stone,” Heo whispered. “Vestane, the Sea Stone; in the ancient language of the North, the sea is the reflection of the sky on the earth.”
He turned to Estella and said, "The answer lies in the riddle itself."
"You even know the ancient language of the North? Did you learn it in Heclairan?" Estella gazed at Heo's face, at the Vestarah Spear on his back, and suddenly chuckled. "You really remind me of my old friends."
"So you want to break the seal they created with their lives back then?" He Ao gazed at the Future Tower hanging upside down in the sky and said softly.
“An abnormal awakening is inevitable,” Estella shook her head slightly. “Instead of pointless resistance, we should try to control him.”
"Can an ant manipulate a human?" He Ao whispered.
"How will you know if you don't try?" Estella turned to look at Heo.
"And what if you fail?" Heo stared at her.
“The fate of an abnormal release is inevitable,” Estella said calmly. “Failure is merely bringing forward the predetermined fate.”
He gazed at her calm and natural face, falling into a brief silence.
“Are you thinking that my seven hundred years of guarding this place seem meaningless?” Estella gazed at Ho. “I am personally releasing the ‘prisoners’ I have imprisoned. I know you find this hard to understand.”
She averted her gaze and stared at the sky, her eyes firm and determined. "But a terrifying being at the level of a usurper poses a huge threat to the entire Federation. If we are not careful, the whole world will be destroyed. In order to prevent him from destroying everything, we have to take some risky actions."
“No,” Heo, standing beside her, simply gazed quietly at the towering futuristic building. “I was just thinking that my parents had already bought their airship tickets, and they’ll be home in a few days.”
I'm still a little short of monthly votes. I'm asking for votes at the end of the month or the beginning of the next
