Chapter 1694 Marching Towards the Burning Throne
Chapter 1694 Marching Towards the Burning Throne
"what is that?"
The warriors of Azeroth, who were fighting bravely, all looked up in astonishment at the burning cloud that covered the star field.
The raging fire cloud was rapidly expanding and spreading. At first, it was only about the size of Argus, but now it was almost the size of the planet Azeroth itself.
Even Varian Wrynn, who had no talent for magic, could sense the incredible evil power contained within that enormous cloud of fire through the portal.
"Ha, ha ha ha ha! You're all finished!"
The dreadlord Tichondrius, his chest pierced by a voodoo spear and on the verge of death, coughed up a mouthful of green blood and let out a maniacal laugh:
"The Legion's Great Lord is finally going to personally wipe out you maggots!"
You and Azeroth are doomed, hahahahahahaha—"
Bang! Tichondrius's head was smashed to pieces by the Doomhammer.
Thrall raised the Doomhammer and spat at the headless corpse of the Dreadlord: "Pah! Demon..."
A tremor came from not far away, and Genn, piloting his humanoid mech Alpha Wolf, landed on top of the starship where Thrall and Vol'jin were: "Warchiefs of the Horde, where is your starship?"
Thrall and Vol'jin exchanged an awkward glance. The starship they had painstakingly rented from the Alliance had been destroyed in the previous battle by Tichondrius, the King of Nathrezim, with powerful fel magic; even the mechs had been blown to pieces. Had it not been for the timely arrival of Azeroth's blessing, it wouldn't have been Tichondrius who died, but the two of them.
Seeing their expressions, Gene understood what was going on: "Now is not the time to fight for points or for infighting between the Alliance and the Horde. Come on, board the Leo. We must fight Sargeras and defend Azeroth from the Dark Titan."
Thrall and Vol'jin, one a former Warchief of the Horde and the other the current Warchief, should theoretically be bitter enemies of the Alliance. But as Genn said, the Alliance and the Horde now share a common enemy: Sargeras and the Burning Legion.
If Azeroth falls, their best fate will be to flee their homeworld in panic, like the Velen and Draenei, and then wander the universe in despair forever.
Thrall and Vol'jin didn't hesitate any longer and jumped decisively into the outstretched palm of the mech alpha, which carried them both towards the Leo.
Upon entering the Leo, most of the other Azerothian warriors and leaders had already gathered there, along with some unfamiliar faces whom they had never met before.
Archmage Khadgar was excitedly embracing two 'strangers': one was a burly man with short silver hair and wearing golden armor, and the other was a stunningly beautiful high elf with a graceful figure.
They were Turalyon and Alleria, Alliance heroes who had been missing in Outland for a long time. No one knew that they had been rescued by Xerath's Legion of Light and had become its commanders.
After the Light Legion's starship Zenidal crashed, Nanami took advantage of the chaos to steal Xera's core crystal. The progenitor Naaru immediately crashed, and command of the Light Legion fell into the hands of Turalyon. He had just led the Light Legion out of the starship to fight the demons to the death when he encountered the Leo and was taken aboard.
"Turalyon and Alleria, I didn't expect them to actually be alive. It's a pity that the Banshee Queen can't see this, but considering her cold-blooded and heartless nature, who knows what might happen after she meets her sister Alleria."
Thrall could only remain silent in the face of Genn's words. Sylvanas, the Banshee Queen, truly did not participate in this battle to defend the fate of Azeroth, nor did the Forsaken send a single soldier to fight.
If everyone survives this war, Thrall and Vol'jin will inevitably have to reconsider the feasibility of Sylvanas and the Forsaken remaining in the Horde.
"Khadgar! You've become younger and more robust!" Alleria was delighted to be reunited with her old friend and carefully examined Khadgar.
Khadgar proudly flexed his biceps: "Now I'm Super Khadgar! And look at this!"
As he spoke, he took out a brand-new orc skull from his waist and showed it to the two of them like a treasure: "Gul'dan's skull! This is a rare and precious artifact!"
Gul'dan ultimately died at Khadgar's hands, and their fateful entanglement, which began in Draenor, finally came to an end at the Tomb of Sargeras.
Not far away, Malfurion looked up at the Tree-Moving King, his mouth agape for a long time: "So cool... This is the purest and most flawless aggregation of life force. Lor'themar, can I borrow it for a bit?"
“Call me A-Qiang!” Lorthema A-Qiang Theron corrected her solemnly, “The Tree-Moving King is a secret passed down through generations of the Theron family, and only I can pilot it.”
Beside her, Tyrande knelt on one knee, communicating with the moon goddess Elune. For some reason, Elune's oracle was clearer than ever before.
Whether it was her imagination or not, Tyrande even sensed... fear in Elune's oracle?
Was she afraid of Sargeras? Or...? Tyrande's mind flashed with the face of the Star Goddess Heather, and she quickly stopped thinking about it in fear.
Varian Wrynn, seeing Jaina looking travel-worn, nodded with relief: "Jaina, it's so good to see you safe and sound."
"Your Majesty, I've tried, but I still can't open the portal directly to Argus." Jaina's face showed no joy, only frustration.
She could be considered the most skilled archmage in Azeroth when it came to teleportation, but even she couldn't open a teleportation portal, or even teleport herself there alone.
An unimaginably terrifying fel energy is raging from within Argus, disrupting all external energy interference.
"Fly over there using the Leo."
Velen, leaning on the Redeemer's Staff, walked slowly over. The holy light emanating from him was no longer as dazzling as before; instead, it transformed into a robe of holy light that draped over his body, and a crown of holy light, the Crown of the Ruler, appeared above his head.
"We must strike at the heart of the matter, destroy the Burning Legion's stronghold, and free the noble Argus. Only then can we buy Azeroth a sufficient opportunity."
Upon hearing this, Turalyon shook his head: "Prophet, things are not that simple."
Argus has now become a breeding ground for fel energy, with countless demons using the power of the Argus star-soul to shorten the time required for their resurrection. The Argus star-soul is hidden by Sargeras in the deepest part of the Burning Throne of Antorus.
With the portal guardian Hassabel present, the Legion can continuously transport troops to Azeroth, while we cannot use teleportation spells to move to the Burning Throne.
Piloting a starship straight into the Burning Throne is a pipe dream. The most powerful demons guard the Burning Throne and do not allow any outsiders to approach. To the demons, it is a sacred place.
The Holy Light Legion has attempted to attack the Burning Throne countless times, but has always failed. This latest attempt has resulted in heavy losses for the Holy Light Legion.
Even Zenidal's warp drive couldn't breach the Burning Throne; if I may be so bold, your starships can't either.
"So we can only watch helplessly as Sargeras gathers his power and completely destroys Azeroth?" Baine slammed his fist into his palm, hot white breath billowing from his nostrils.
"I can help you with that."
Upon hearing the sudden sound, almost everyone present knelt down simultaneously. Turalyon and Alleria, bewildered, were also forced to kneel on one knee by Khadgar frantically tugging at their sleeves and trouser legs.
A phantom appeared before them. Within the phantom were two slightly blurry figures, one being the great Star Goddess Heather, the other appearing to be a night elf but possessing breathtaking beauty. Tyrande nearly cried out upon seeing this figure, "Azshara?"
No, no! It's the Star Soul of Azeroth!
Seeing this, everyone lowered their heads even further.
Heather smiled at everyone: "Azeroth and I both saw your valiant fight; you did a great job. Good children deserve rewards. You've already received your reward from Azeroth; now it's my turn."
With that, Heather snapped her fingers.
A massive spatial rift instantly materialized, appearing in front of the Leo. At the other end of the rift lay endless evil fire, darkness, and magma, along with countless demons.
“That’s the Burning Throne of Antorus, the Burning Legion’s stronghold!” Turalyon exclaimed.
"Set out, children of Azeroth, the path has been opened for you. Go forth and slay the last remnants of the Burning Legion, and win victory and glory for your mother."
Heather raised his hand, and everyone felt a tremor beneath their feet. The Leo, along with the entire Azeroth space fleet, flew towards the giant space tunnel and quickly disappeared at the end of the tunnel.
Inside the Chamber of the Heart, Azeroth looked at Heather with adoration: "Your control over power is amazing."
Faced with the heartfelt praise from the world's will beauty, Heather smiled so wide her gums showed: "Oh, not at all, these are just the simplest application techniques. I can teach you step by step later... cough cough!"
Seeing Nanami approach, Heather quickly coughed twice and said in a serious tone, "These are all basic application techniques. You'll be able to use them proficiently after exploring them for a while."
"So what should we do next?" Azeroth blinked. "Wait for my children to bring back the Argus star-soul?"
"No, we can't put all our eggs in one basket. We need to be prepared for both possibilities. Come here, I'm going to give you a good boost."
Heather rubbed his hands together, his soul as a weapon forger beginning to boil:
"After all, it's you who will be fighting Sargeras in the end."
