Chapter 1683 Fire Suppression
Chapter 1683 Fire Suppression
Dark green flames streaked across the sky, followed by a barrage of bright blue electron beams.
Green and blue lines intertwined in the air, accompanied by a dense barrage of explosions and sharp whistling sounds.
Gul'dan froze on the spot, not knowing what had happened.
Shouldn't the Burning Legion use its far superior technology and fel power to utterly crush the natives here, thus completing the great task of suppressing the entire planet in one fell swoop? Just like it did with the countless civilizations in the universe that wanted to resist the Burning Legion.
But what about those spaceships that are now appearing in front of me?
Not long ago, I learned that the Alliance and Horde's highest technological achievement was a large wooden ship that could fly and physical cannons. How come they have advanced their technology to a level comparable to the Burning Legion in just a few months?
Is this scientific? Wait, so engineering is an upgrade mode of 'suddenly and explosively climbing the technology tree'? I shouldn't have become a shaman or warlock in my early years. Wouldn't it have been better to study engineering directly?
Gul'dan had originally planned that the vanguard of the Burning Legion, summoned by him, would be able to suppress the resistance forces of Azeroth with their starships and fel cannons. This would not only highlight his command skills but also conserve mana for summoning the leaders of the Burning Legion later.
But now, the Burning Legion doesn't have the upper hand; it's Azeroth that's prepared.
The enemy clearly knew what was going to happen, even knowing when he was going to summon the Burning Legion's vanguard. In fact, they were waiting for him to summon the vanguard so they could unleash a devastating attack immediately.
Damn it! Those cunning dogs of Azeroth! Gul'dan is from Draenor, so he has no problem wreaking havoc on Azeroth and its children.
boom! !
In the blink of an eye, a Burning Legion starship exploded in multiple bursts of fire and billowed thick black smoke, clearly having been subjected to concentrated fire from several Azerothian starships.
Oh no, the firepower of the Azerothian starships seems to be even stronger than that of the Burning Legion. Gul'dan didn't have time to think about where the natives of Azeroth had gotten their starships and powerful shipborne weapons from; he only knew that if he didn't do something, the Burning Legion might not be able to gain the upper hand.
With this in mind, Gul'dan no longer hesitated and immediately raised his hand to begin summoning the remaining magical energy within the Tomb of Sargeras. He was going to open a semi-permanent super teleportation array, powerful enough to allow the entire Legion to flood into Azeroth!
But as soon as he started to move, he saw the magical city of Dalaran flying rapidly toward him, led by a raven.
It was Khadgar! Gul'dan's eyes turned red when he saw the culprit who had not only completely ruined his plans but also caused him to be exiled from his 'homeland' to this place.
"Khadgar!!"
"Gul'dan!!"
Both sides roared simultaneously, and Khadgar flipped back into human form in mid-air, wielding the Atiesh Guardian Staff and hurling it at Gul'dan. Several massive arcane orbs shot towards Gul'dan like meteors.
Gul'dan immediately raised his hand, aiming at the arcane orb in the sky. A surge of magical energy coalesced into a liquid cannon, shooting out and blasting straight through one of the arcane orbs. Then, Gul'dan swung his arm violently, sending the cannon flying through the air in a green arc.
Arcane orbs were detonated one after another after being hit by the magic cannon. Khadgar was thrown sideways by the huge blast, and even Dalaran was hit by the magic cannon. Despite the powerful arcane defense array in front of it to resist the magic cannon, the aerial city of Dalaran was still forced to move backward continuously. The buildings in the city shook and roared violently, and buildings collapsed from time to time.
Taking this opportunity, Gul'dan roared at all the Burning Legion vanguard: "Protect me! Don't let me be interrupted while I'm maintaining the summoning ritual!"
The most distinctive feature of the Burning Legion is that its subordinates are completely obedient to their superiors, even if they are sent to their deaths. After all, demons do not truly die in the material universe.
After Gul'dan officially joined the Burning Legion, he was given a rank by Kil'jaeden that was no less than that of the highest-ranking demon general, making him the supreme superior of most of the demons present.
Upon hearing Gul'dan's command, several Legion starships immediately broke free from the Azerothian starships' obstruction and flew towards Gul'dan. High above, numerous dark green vortexes appeared, from which green fireballs were summoned and crashed down upon the Azerothian starships.
These fireballs are all hellfire, demons that are the weapons of war of the Burning Legion, bloodless, tearless, and merciless, born only for slaughter and destruction.
But the chaotic rain, which used to be able to completely destroy civilizations on the planet's surface, has encountered an unprecedentedly powerful enemy this time!
boom! ! !
A massive white beam of light, powerful enough to burn away a demon's retinas, ripped through the sky, instantly illuminating the airspace that had been stained dark green by magical energy!
The main gun of the Alliance flagship Leo roared and fired white light, instantly wiping out the hellfire meteors and the swarm of evil bats that had just flown out to ambush the Azerothian starship.
A blinding white light drew a line across the surface of Azeroth that was clearly visible even from outer space, followed by several bursts of intense dark green flames.
The Burning Legion starship, unable to evade in time, was directly blasted apart by the electronic heat ray cannon. The magic defense barrier was no different from paper in front of the Leo's main cannon.
The white light lasted for a full three seconds before going out, clearing a safe zone in the airspace in front of the Leo.
Gul'dan looked up at the countless charred remains falling like raindrops, his green eyes bulging out, his mouth wide open and unable to close.
A rainbow of convergence and focus?
Although it is not as powerful as the original Focusing Rainbow, Gul'dan believes that this twin electronic heat ray cannon operates in the same way as Focusing Rainbow, with its destructive power only reduced by two levels.
That despicable AI, are you deliberately limiting the destructive power of the Focusing Iris because you're afraid the Theramore tragedy will repeat itself? Hmph, this actually benefits us!
Since the Focusing Iris could not be fired continuously, Gul'dan took the opportunity to continue mobilizing his magic power. Legion starships kept leaping into the air above the Tomb of Sargeras amidst muffled, squeezing sounds. The Burning Legion, with its continuous reinforcements, gradually withstood the fierce attack of the Azerothian starship legion.
Compared to the extremely brutal Battle of the Broken Shore in the original timeline, in which both the Alliance and Horde supreme commanders perished, this ambush was undoubtedly a resounding success, as evidenced by the Legion starships falling from the sky like dumplings.
But the children of Azeroth are clearly not satisfied with such achievements; their target is the high-ranking generals of the Burning Legion.
"Is it not ready yet, Varian? Gul'dan is on the list too, and he's worth 500 points!" Inside the ship's cabin, the impatient voice of Wolf King Gene came from the giant mech 'Alpha Wolf'.
“Be patient, Genn. Gul'dan is a crucial teleportation unit. If he's taken out early, the Burning Legion won't be able to rush into Azeroth one by one like they are now, allowing us to focus our fire. Not to mention, we need his teleportation array to locate the Burning Legion's main base.”
Lionheart stood beside him with his arms crossed, and Varian's voice came from the cockpit:
"Jaina is locating their general... Watch out, they're coming!"
Boom! Boom! Boom! This explosion was even more massive than the previous one, as three colossal legion starships, comparable in size to Storm Fortress, tore through space and crashed into Azeroth's near-Earth orbit.
At the same time, Jaina shouted urgently in the channel:
"Extremely high magical energy fluctuations detected! Everyone be careful, it's a general-level leader of the Burning Legion!"
P.S.: I ambitiously wrote a new chapter yesterday, but I'm now one chapter behind today. How embarrassing...
