Chapter 4463 Dark Prelude (The End)

Chapter 4463 Dark Prelude (The End)
Everyone stood up. Hal still looked troubled. He said, "Then you should talk things out properly and avoid conflict. The Guardians of the Universe have a very high level of technology; they were already a top civilization in the universe many years ago..."

Without wasting words, Clark waved his hand and said, "Open the portal."

Hal had no choice but to open the portal, but instead of going directly to the Guardians of the Universe's planet, he went to the Green Lantern Corps' headquarters first.

As soon as the green portal opened and the Justice League members stepped out, the security monitoring equipment started alarming loudly. The Green Lanterns all looked towards the hall and flew over.

“My God, Hal Jordan! How could you bring a non-Green Lantern to headquarters?! This is a serious violation…”

Before he could finish speaking, a flash of red light appeared before his eyes, and a laser beam shot him down. Hal quickly flew into the air to stop Clark, whose eyes were bloodshot, and said, "No, no, no, don't hurt them, they are all good people."

The other Green Lanterns immediately assumed fighting stances, and the Justice League was not to be outdone. Green Lantern energy and red lasers flew wildly, interspersed with Hal's screams of agony.

"Stop fighting! Stop fighting!! Let's talk this out!!"

"Clark, stop! And you, Sinestro, you stop too!! We're not enemies!!"

Clark wasn't going to waste words with them. He knew perfectly well that they were coming here because they were bound to fight; otherwise, there was no way they could take away the Green Lantern energy. Since they were going to fight sooner or later anyway, they might as well just start fighting.

Green Lantern Headquarters has thousands of Green Lanterns, and even now, hundreds have arrived in the lobby. Clark is completely unafraid, standing in the middle like a defensive tower, striking wherever the lasers fly towards him without stopping.

After a while, he must have gotten tired of fighting. He took a deep breath and unleashed a laser cannon more than three meters thick, circling around him. Green Lanterns fell like raindrops.

Green Lantern wasn't about to back down, and Sinestro countered with his Green Lantern Energy Cannon. But then, a magical shield appeared in front of Clark. The multicolored, prism-like shield reflected the Green Lantern Energy Cannon back, knocking down another group of people.

Immediately afterward, Clark soared into the sky, his body protected by magical energy, before plummeting down like a meteorite. A palm strike descending from the heavens crashed into the planet's surface with a deafening boom, creating a massive crack and causing the entire planet to shake violently.

"Stop, stop!"

"The planet is about to fall apart! Stop him!"

"Hal, stop your compatriots!"

"Does he look like one of my compatriots?!"

Sinestro, who had just gotten up from the ground, said somewhat helplessly, "Hal, make him stop. Let's talk things out."

Hal rushed forward and stopped Clark from crashing into them again. If that another impact landed, the planet would definitely fall apart. Where the hell did this monster come from?!
Clark landed back on the ground, hovering in mid-air with his arms crossed. Sinestro looked at him and said, "Did you come here just to cause trouble?"

“Of course not,” Clark said. “I’m just here to inform you that a multiverse-level catastrophe has befallen Earth, and you, as the cosmic police, haven’t done a single thing. Now is the time for you to show your skills.”

His words sparked a heated discussion. None of them had noticed any multiverse-level catastrophe; the universe had been unusually quiet lately, even Darkseid, the troublemaker, had been quiet.

But Sinestro was clearly more perceptive than these people, saying, "Is it related to Darkseid?"

“It’s related at a deeper level, but it’s not the key point right now,” Clark said. “The forces of death are polluting the Earth’s oceans, and we need enough green light energy to disperse the pollution.”

"Coming to us won't help," Sinestro said. "The source of the Green Light energy is controlled by the Guardians of the Universe..."

“So I need you to take me to the Guardians of the Universe,” Clark said. “Since they call themselves the Guardians of the Universe, they must be quite generous in providing energy to those who protect the universe, right?”

“I can take you there,” Sinestro said, “but I don’t recommend that you use such violent means to deal with Oa. There are a lot of important devices on there, and if they are damaged, it could affect the stability of the universe.”

“That depends on their attitude,” Clark retorted without backing down. “If they are willing to fulfill their responsibilities, I will naturally treat them with courtesy; if they are not, I can only offer some reminders.”

Sinestro said with a hint of helplessness, "The guardians of the universe have great power, aren't you afraid of your home planet...?"

“My home planet is long gone,” Clark said. “Don’t you know about the extinction of the Kryptonians?”

Sinestro was somewhat surprised. He looked at Clark and said, "You're a Kryptonian? But... but I've never heard of any Kryptonian having superpowers..."

“He’s a special breed,” Hal pulled Senesto aside, then said, “You’d better send a message to those blue heads right now to warn them. Superman has nothing to lose. If he really destroys Oa, what can the Guardians of the Universe do to him?”

Sinestro also realized the gravity of the situation. Other civilizations might have had some reservations, but the Kryptonians were truly reckless. No matter how powerful the Guardians of the Universe were, they couldn't retaliate against them.

Sinestro contacted Oars using his Green Lantern Ring. Normally, there would be an automatic reply upon receiving the message, and someone would contact him quickly, given his position as leader of the Green Lantern Corps and his high standing. However, this time, the message went unanswered for a long time.

Seeing that Clark's expression was growing increasingly hostile, Sinestro could only say, "I'll take you there first."

He opened the portal. Clark stepped inside, completely unconcerned. He wasn't worried, but the Green Lanterns were, and they all followed him. But what they saw behind the portal astonished both Clark and Sinestro.

All that remains of Ou'a Star is ruins.

Sinestro froze, and the Green Lanterns who followed also froze. Clark looked at Sinestro and asked, "What's going on?!"

Seneca took flight in disbelief, only to find the once prosperous city completely destroyed, with ruins everywhere and no trace of the lamps.

“Damn it,” Sinestro muttered to himself, “Darkseid, it must be him.”

Clark frowned. Sinestro continued, "For a while now, Darkseid hadn't destroyed any more planets, and we thought he'd changed his ways. Now it seems he's brewing an even bigger conspiracy. Only he has the power to destroy Oa..."

“The bigger conspiracy probably isn’t about destroying a planet,” Clark said. “He hijacked the Lighthouse, so we won’t have enough Green Lantern energy, and Earth’s oceans will definitely be polluted. Once Earth falls, the portal will be opened…”

"The passage?" Seneca looked at him as well.

“That’s right. A powerful being with the power of death is trying to break through the barrier of the multiverse and turn this place into a lifeless realm. Our universe is the bridgehead he has chosen. Now he has begun a large-scale invasion. We need the power of the Light Blossoms to resist the invaders!”

“Darkseid also played a significant role in this,” Clark said. “We suspect that he was the one who instigated that powerful being to invade the multiverse.”

“That’s not surprising. To prevent you from obtaining the furnace energy, he infiltrated Oa ahead of time.” Senesto sighed. He surveyed Oa and then said, “Search around here.”

"Looking for what?"

Sinestro opened his mouth, but didn't say anything, only saying, "Anything will do, there's definitely something useful."

The Green Lanterns had already scattered to search, and the Justice League could only help with the search. But the place was completely destroyed; not only were all the Green Lanterns gone, but the buildings, equipment, and roads were all destroyed, and even the plants were not spared.

Sinestro's expression grew increasingly puzzled. Clark looked at him and said, "You'd better just say what you have to say. If your concealment has any serious consequences, you'll be a sinner against the multiverse."

“It’s not that I don’t want to tell you, it’s just that I can’t be sure,” Sinestro said. “I’ve only heard rumors about it. The original owner of the Emotional Spectrum was imprisoned by the Guardians of the Universe. He was an extremely powerful being; he shouldn’t have been killed by Darkseid…”

“Then they must have run away,” Clark said.

Sinestro shook his head again: "If he were here, he wouldn't have let Darkseid take the Lamphearth. He's wanted to reclaim the power of the Emotional Spectrum for a long time. There's no reason he couldn't defeat Darkseid's army."

“Now is not the time to study these things,” Clark said, sounding somewhat anxious. “Where else can we get energy from the emotional spectrum?”

“He is the key,” Sinestro emphasized. “He is the only person besides the Guardians of the Universe who knows how to utilize the energy of the emotional spectrum. Finding him is the only hope!”

Sinestro looked around and then said, "I'll contact the other Green Lanterns first to see if they have any leads. You guys go back to Green Lantern headquarters and move the furnaces there to Earth. The Green Lanterns will go with you; the energy should be enough to last for a while."

Clark was somewhat dissatisfied, but he had no better solution. He left with the Justice League. Sinestro took one last look at the destroyed planet Oa, and then left as well.

On the way back, Clark paused, realizing something was amiss. He looked at the Justice League members and said, "I'm not surprised Darkseid could destroy Oa, but how did he manage to prevent the Guardians of the Universe from sending out any information?"

Diana was also taken aback. She said, "Right, weren't the Guardians of the Universe supposed to have advanced technology? They should have been able to contact the Lanterns for help, so how could they have been silently..."

“If Darkseid could destroy the Guardians of the Universe, he would have done it long ago,” Ron said. “A brutal man like him would definitely be the Green Lantern Corps’ mortal enemy. If he could just wipe out the Green Lanterns’ homeworld, he would have done it. The fact that he didn’t means he couldn’t, or at least couldn’t have done it so easily. At least a major battle would have been necessary.”

“There must be something we don’t know,” Arthur said. “But I can’t figure out who would want to…”

Suddenly, a detail he had seen on Oa flashed through Arthur's mind. The last time he had seen similar ashes was when the Hellbat armor killed Steppenwolf.

Because the battle was taking place at sea, Arthur knew more details than the others, and the ashes had also fallen into the sea. He knew better than anyone what the enemies killed by the Hellbat Armor looked like.

Arthur's breath hitched. He wanted to speak, but the words caught in his throat. If Batman really did it, why wouldn't he say anything and instead send so many people to search for him? He must have a reason. He couldn't ruin his plan.

But upon returning to Earth, they received another devastating piece of news—Steppenwolf, Atlantis, and other resurrected undead, along with the Justice League's enemies, had formed a supervillain organization and openly declared war on them.

A strange and deep voice echoed over the metropolis.

"The darkest night obscures the sun, its light waning and waxing, devouring everything in its path. It rips out your heart and steals your soul, killing you, and your spirit will rise again to serve the dark hand!"

"You will eventually understand that death is the eternal destination, and we will descend like the Black Day, plunging the universe into the darkest night. Come, offer your loyalty to the great Black Emperor!"
