Chapter 4441 Dark Prelude (Twenty-Six)
While the agents searched the back, the others had already subdued Damian. Diana had actually wanted to warn them that he might be dangerous, but these agents seemed exceptionally fearless. Schiller gave the order, and with zero frames, they immediately pinned Damian down.

Diana hadn't expected Damian to offer any resistance, nor to harm the agents the way he had harmed her. He simply struggled and shouted, "The Justice League and the President! You've been deceiving the people all along! You damned bastards!!!"

To be honest, even though the little guy had hurt her earlier, Diana couldn't help but think that he was absolutely right. He had become the righteous and kind rebel, while she was the mastermind behind the conspiracy.

But there was no way to get off this ship now; there was no turning back. Diana walked over to Schiller and whispered, "So, this is your purpose?"

"What purpose?" Schiller smiled at her. "I have many purposes."

Diana was just about to count how many goals he had achieved when she saw reporters rush in. Leading them was the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet, followed by Louise and a group of independent journalists.

They first rushed to the mural and snapped away, then went to interview Schiller. The editor-in-chief, however, had a keen eye; he approached Diana, raised the microphone, and asked, "Hello, ma'am, did you cooperate with the government to subdue these Martians?"

After composing herself, Diana began, "To be honest, I didn't know this was a Martian conspiracy. I thought it was indeed my compatriots who committed the crime. At first, I just wanted to clarify that I hadn't stolen the artifacts and catch the culprits, but I never expected these Martians to have laid such a trap here. If Mr. Rodriguez hadn't come to my rescue in time, I'm afraid I wouldn't have been a match for them..."

Diana moved her arm, and the editor-in-chief immediately noticed. He immediately directed someone to take a close-up shot of Diana's arm and said, "Even a superhuman as powerful as you is injured like this. The Martians are truly too powerful."

Diana had no intention of boosting others' morale while diminishing her own. But the source of the curse beside her kept giving her meaningful glances, so she could only sigh and say, "Yes, superpowered individuals each have their own strengths; not everyone has strong defenses. If you fall into a trap or are ambushed, your life could be in danger..."

"So, doesn't that mean our president is also in danger?"

“He’s never been safe!” Diana said this from the bottom of her heart, while constantly glancing at Schiller. With a secretary constantly hovering around him, it would be strange if he were safe.

“I must remind you that superpowered individuals are not a shield. On the contrary, precisely because they don’t want these superpowered individuals to protect humanity, the Martians will try every means to frame and harm them. I am the best example. If I hadn’t tracked them down to their lair and uncovered their conspiracy, I probably would have been expelled from Earth.”

"My fellow human beings, now is not the time for infighting. The Martians are lurking among you, plotting to sow discord between you and your loved ones. They want to isolate each of us so they can defeat us one by one. Whether you are an ordinary person or a superhuman, if we want to protect Earth, we should unite like sisters and never give any extraterrestrial forces an opportunity!"

Diana spoke these words with utmost sincerity. After all, while there were no Martians now, there were these resurrected Death puppets. To be honest, it was no different from a Martian invasion, and perhaps even more dangerous. Ron had mentioned that Martians were weak against fire, and it was unclear what weaknesses these puppets possessed, making them even more troublesome than the Martians.

Moreover, they've clearly targeted the Justice League, obviously trying to incite public opposition against them. And stirring up emotions is actually quite simple; like this time, how many people can truly believe Diana's innocence?
Even though everyone knew that Martians had infiltrated the human population and were preparing to create chaos, not everyone reacted so quickly. Add to that a group of people constantly stirring up trouble, and many began to believe their arguments made sense—that no one but Diana, a superhuman, could have switched places—and naturally, the blame was pinned on her, allowing the other side to succeed.

Fortunately, this group ran into Schiller, the master of stirring up trouble. After the interview, Diana opened a news website and found it flooded with high-resolution photos of the new "Serpent of Fringe".

By now, Diana could also have guessed several of Le's objectives. Allowing the online narrative to fester and plunging her into a media storm, nearly framing her, was a necessary step. Because, compared to empty rhetoric, undeniable facts are far more convincing.

If you tell people out of thin air that the Martians will definitely target the Justice League and try every means to frame them, the public may not believe you. They might even think you are making a mountain out of a molehill and have paranoia.

However, this incident changes things. Diana was indeed framed—the mural wasn't switched by her at all; it had been switched long before it was shown to the public and was stored in the British Museum.

The news of the royal family stealing artifacts is not unfounded; it is a true story. It's just that Martians infiltrated the royal family and, under the guise of a charity gala, smuggled the artifacts away in order to conceal their existence.

For many years, Martians have been making preparations all over Earth, not only constantly destroying all kinds of evidence that record their existence, but also cruelly silencing those who know about them, all in order to deceive humanity and one day take over Earth.

To this end, they had already infiltrated high-level officials in various countries, secretly manipulating elections, controlling the public, and erasing evidence of their crimes, which is why they were able to keep this a secret for so many years.

They impersonated members of the royal family, stole the murals, and then framed Diana in an attempt to tarnish her reputation and cause people to distrust the Justice League.

This news caused a huge uproar. The case of the stolen artifact was already quite sensational, but this unexpected twist caught everyone off guard. Major media outlets rushed to report on it, and the image of the new version of the "Serpent of Fringe" quickly spread around the world.

It's easy to see that the Egyptian figures above resemble Ron more closely. But more importantly, what they are doing is carrying a pharaoh's coffin.

Connecting this to the ancient Egyptian legend of Tutankhamun slaying the serpent, many people are wondering: could Tutankhamun be inside this coffin? But why would Martians be carrying his coffin?
This has fueled conspiracy theories, especially considering news reports of Martians impersonating royalty to steal artifacts, and even the possibility that they have infiltrated high-ranking officials in various countries. If Martians were already there back then, could the Egyptian royal family have also been infiltrated?

This is highly likely. After all, in a technologically advanced society, they were able to infiltrate high-level society silently; in that era, it would have been a piece of cake.

To speculate even more boldly: Could Tutankhamun have been replaced by Martians? The murals depict the scene of them killing Tutankhamun, removing his body, and replacing him?

But this raises another question: if Tutankhamun had already been replaced, why did he slay the snake? Wasn't that snake also an alien?
Soon, the relevant personnel noticed something amiss in the details of the legend. In this legend, Tutankhamun slew a red and blue serpent, but Martians are green-skinned, so what does that have to do with red and blue?
Meanwhile, another piece of information was revealed: there is more than one group of aliens on Earth.

This is obviously obvious. After all, Earth is like a cosmic accident hotspot, a crossroads without traffic lights, where all sorts of strange spacecraft crash. Over the years, it should have accumulated quite a few aliens.

However, this so-called red and blue alien race is particularly famous because they were once one of the most advanced civilizations in the universe, originating from the distant planet Krypton.

Don't ask who leaked this information—shortly after the Christmas holidays ended, the president gave another televised address.

"Hello, human friends. You must be wondering why I address you this way. Even if you all know the truth, I would prefer you to see me as one of your own. But today, I must tell you the truth: I am indeed an alien."

"You must think I'm a Martian because there's been a lot of noise about Martians lately, and I look so much like you, there's no difference in appearance. You'll think I'm a good Martian."

"But that's not actually the case. I am indeed an alien, but not a Martian. My home planet is much farther away than Mars. I come from Krypton, which is a very beautiful planet."

At this point, the director inserted a video clip. It was taken by Clark on Krypton, though not intentionally by him; it was taken by a camera Bruce had left on him. The footage was remarkably clear. Furthermore, Krypton had been highly modified; from above, the mechanical structures supporting the planet were clearly visible. This couldn't possibly be a human creation or special effects; it was clearly the work of an extremely advanced alien civilization.

"This is my beautiful hometown. My ancestors and parents were born here, and so was I. The difference is that my parents sent me to Earth in a spaceship right after I was born. I grew up on Earth, was adopted by human parents, and was a small-town boy farming in Kansas."

"I think you have already noticed that this beautiful alien city looks rather old and desolate, and there are no of my kind there. This is because the Kryptonian civilization has long been extinct."

“We haven’t explored society enough and have over-exploited resources, putting the entire planet at risk of disintegration. The loose structures you see are the products of the explosion. And those cities that were lucky enough not to be blown to pieces are now empty, because everyone died from radiation. Only I survived because my parents put me on a lifeboat before they died.”

"And the red and blue snake depicted in that famous mural you see is the image of a Kryptonian. The Superman suit I wear every day is actually a Kryptonian award ceremony uniform."

At this point, the director inserted another shot, filming Superman's costume: red and blue with a large "S" on the chest.

“In ancient Egypt, a Kryptonian officer once visited Earth. Like me, that general couldn’t distinguish between humans and Martians. Caught off guard, he was killed by a Martian disguised as Tutankhamun. This was seen and carved by an ancient Egyptian sculptor. Knowing he couldn’t be discovered, he kept the mural hidden until it was discovered by the British.”

"After the murals were transported back to Britain, they were kept hidden in the British Museum and never exhibited. There is very little, if any, information about them in history books. This is the result of the Martians' diligent efforts to erase evidence and distort history."

"But even so, they were still not at ease. Under the guise of a royal charity gala, they completely replaced the murals, erasing all the unfavorable information about them, all in order to hide their existence."

"Human friends, although I am also an alien, I utterly despise the Martians' actions. The Kryptonian civilization is extinct, and I am its only survivor, but I have never thought of reviving it on Earth—this is a shameful act of robbery!"

"Moreover, the grudge of their plot to kill my people thousands of years ago cannot go unpunished. Whether as the president of humanity or as a Kryptonian orphan, I will never let them go. Please believe me, I will always stand with you."
