Chapter 3454: Research on Cats and Dogs (Part )

Bruce replied to his phone in a garbled voice. Pamela sat there, rolling her eyes. Harry, holding a cigarette in his mouth, leaned on the armrest of the sofa, looking around the dance floor.

After a while, Bruce slammed his phone onto the table, leaned back dejectedly, and looked like he was completely drunk.

Harley took out her phone and started taking pictures of Bruce. She used the fingers of her other hand to take the cigarette out of her mouth, exhaled the smoke and said, "This is Batman's late-night drunken revelation. If people from other universes saw this, wouldn't their jaws drop?"

Pamela reached out and pushed Bruce, who waved his hand away. Pamela leaned forward, stretched out her arm to take the cigarette from Harley, and lit one and put it in her mouth.

"I really don't know how long he will go crazy." Pamela exhaled a puff of smoke, but it was more like a sigh. "I was wrong. I shouldn't have thought that it was a good thing for him not to be Batman. He should learn more from Batman."

"Damn Batman!" Bruce muttered, turned over, hugged his arms, and fell asleep on the other side.

Pamela called the waiter over and ordered another glass of wine. She took a sip and her lips twitched due to the spiciness.

Harley rested her elbows on her legs and played with her phone. Rows of messages flashed across the screen. It seemed that she was competing with others in a group chat.

In the dim light, Pamela saw Harley's phone and said, "Is this a new model from the Wayne Group?"

"Of course not, this is a phone from another world." Harley shook the phone in her hand and said, "Didn't we go to another world to play some time ago? Everyone bought one. It's a touch screen, and it's very smooth."

When he said this, Bruce sat up straight, then rushed to Harley's side as if sleepwalking and snatched her cell phone.

"What are you doing?!" Harry was startled by him and hesitated for a moment, but still did not snatch her phone back. Instead, she couldn't help asking, "Are you so poor that you can't even afford a phone?"

Bruce didn't say anything either, and began to repeatedly check the system of Harley's mobile phone, debug the buttons, and observe the interface of the mobile phone from front to back.

"You know that you look like a mad scientist right now?" Harry looked at him and said, then stretched out her hand to Pamela, "I'm not talking about you. You're not crazy enough when you're not short of money."

Pamela seemed to finally be unable to bear it anymore. She walked over, grabbed Bruce's shoulders, turned him around, then pulled him back to his original position.

Drunk Bruce held on to his phone tightly, looking left and right, up and down, and fell asleep again after a while.

But he still held the phone tightly, and Pamela tried for a long time but failed to get the phone out of his hand.

Harry waved his hand and said, "It's okay, I have another one."

After saying that, she took out another mobile phone from her coat pocket. It looked more advanced than the previous one and even had holographic projection.

Fortunately, Bruce did not suddenly go crazy this time. He collapsed on the sofa and seemed to be completely asleep.

Pamela picked up the glass again, glanced at Bruce's profile and said, "I think we should do something to change his crazy state. Otherwise, we won't be able to live like this."

Harry was still playing with his phone nonchalantly and said, "Before we change his state, we have to figure out what's wrong with him."

Pamela counted on her fingers: "Professor Schiller should have given up on harassing him about the article, so it's ruled out. There haven't been any vicious incidents in Gotham recently, so it's ruled out. Thomas and Martha have returned to the main world, so they shouldn't put any pressure on him, so it's ruled out. Dick and the others haven't had any major life events recently that he needs to worry about, so it's ruled out."

"What else could it be? It can't be because I had a fight with Talia, right?"

But Harley's eyes widened and she said, "You and Talia had a fight. Why?"

Pamela immediately began to change the subject, saying, "It's not important, and it certainly has nothing to do with Bruce's current condition."

"Then he had a fight with Selina," Harry said. "I guess it was about Elsa's education or something. Probably."

"But didn't they have a fight before? It wasn't this serious, was it?" Pamela showed a reminiscing look, and then said, "Elsa has been doing well recently, and can even form sentences. He should be happy."

"Could it be Superman?"

"You said he quarreled with Clark?" Pamela obviously didn't believe it and said, "Clark would never quarrel with him. He has such a good temper, how could he deliberately quarrel with Bruce?"

"That's hard to say." Harley pouted as she called the waiter over to order some drinks, then said, "From what I've observed, the positions of Batman and Superman in our universe are reversed."

"Upside down?"

"Almost." Harley nodded and said, "In other universes, Batman is the more determined one, while Superman is always gentle and easily worried about gains and losses."

Pamela thought for a moment and said, "It seems to be true. Between Bruce and Clark, Clark is obviously the more determined one. He knows what he wants and what he is doing. And Bruce... maybe he is still confused sometimes."

"I don't think he's lost, he just needs more emotions." Harley took the ice bucket and added more ice cubes to the wine, then said, "In other universes, compared to Batman who is more like a god, Superman is more like an ordinary person and has higher emotional needs. But in our universe, it's the other way around. Clark is like a god, and Bruce is more like an ordinary person."

"And humans and gods are doomed to not coexist peacefully." Pamela continued, "Either one kills the other, but worse is another situation, they become friends, and one has to love the other."

"That sounds like human history," Harley said. "They built their entire society around this cycle. But it's not like the eddy current in a sink. It's like a storm, or a waterwheel turning to its death. It's violent and heavy."

"So Bruce is going crazy."

"What about you and Thalia? Are you like this too?"

"We are obviously the former," Pamela said, "and unfortunately, my role in this game is the god who is to be killed. But fortunately, I am one step ahead."

Harry rolled his eyes and said, "That's the Green of All Things being better. I guess he'll want to kill you too when he finds out you're using his powers to fix the mess you left behind from your one night stand."

"Then you underestimate him. I even used his power for my one-night stand. I'm still alive and well." Pamela exhaled a puff of smoke nonchalantly.

"To borrow a phrase from a doctor from another world - when you are shameless, no one can win over you."

"Honestly, if the other universes knew that Batman would get Superman drunk, God's phone would be blown away." Pamela continued, "They have to have a reason. I mean, didn't they just team up in the fighting world to play duo?"

"Maybe that's the problem," Harry said. "Maybe they don't have the right chemistry. Does Bruce feel like he's too weak and holding the team back?"

"Absolutely impossible." Pamela denied. "Whether they have tacit understanding or not is another matter, but they are queuing for a restricted dungeon. In this kind of dungeon, Bruce should be stronger."

"That's because Clark felt that he was too weak and didn't want to team up with him anymore, and Bruce was sad."

Pamela still frowned, obviously not agreeing with this statement. She bit the cup with her canine teeth, making a clicking sound, and said while thinking, "If the Batman in other universes is compared to a cat and Superman is compared to a dog, then it is reasonable for cats to often find dogs annoying. But in our universe, Superman is a cat and Batman is a dog. If a cat finds a dog annoying, it must be that Superman finds Batman annoying, but Superman will never find others annoying, let alone Bruce."

"Yeah, didn't you hear him on the phone just now? Clark even took the initiative to invite him to a couple's night. He didn't even invite us!"

"We're not a couple," Pamela said. "Of course, although I suppose we could be..."

Harry immediately extended a hand and said, "Stop. Let's finish solving your problem with that female killer before discussing this topic."

"It's done. Didn't I solve her problem?"

"A physical solution is considered a solution? And you haven't completely solved her physically. Okay, aren't we talking about Bruce?"

"I don't think the problem is with Clark," Pamela said firmly, "Either Bruce is crazy, or..."

"Either what?"

"Either the two of us are crazy and come to the bar with Bruce Wayne. He's drunk and we'll have to find a way to carry him back later."

"How difficult is that? Just wrap him up with your vines..."

"It's not difficult to carry him away, but the hard part is how to avoid the various tabloid reporters. You don't want to be part of his romantic scandal, do you?"

"I don't mind." Harry took a sip of wine and said, "If the two of us are on the news together, I will go to Wayne Building to ask for money. He will at least give me a few million to keep me quiet."

Pamela rolled her eyes and glanced at Bruce from the corner of her eyes. Bruce was sleeping soundly. When he was drinking and dancing, he was like a madman, but when he was asleep, he was like a dead person.

A vine came out from under the sofa. Pamela walked over and pretended to carry Bruce, but in fact she relied on the vine to support him. Harley supported him on the other side, and the three of them staggered out of the bar.

Then there was Clark Kent.

"This scandal is going to spread to the metropolis," Harry said with a smile, "You can't shut me up unless you give me 10 million."

Clark frowned at Bruce, who was drunk as a mess, but still took him from Pamela.

"His car is over there." Pamela pointed to the intersection on the right and said, "The flashiest one is his. Yes, that bright purple Porsche 911."

Clark looked back and saw that the car was very conspicuous, almost becoming a landmark of Bar Street, but what was even more conspicuous were the cameras and long guns lurking next to the car. He even saw a familiar face from the Daily Planet there.

If he just helped Bruce over now, the sex scandal between the world's richest man and the metropolitan reporter would spread all over the world the next day, and Bruce obviously couldn't afford the sky-high hush money now.

Seeing Clark in a dilemma, Harley snapped her fingers and said, "If you are willing to lend me Krypton for a few days, I will lead them away. How about it?"

"Forget it," Clark said. "You're definitely going to feed him junk food, and he can't get any fatter."

"Then what are you going to do..." Harley said as she looked up and watched Clark grab Bruce and take off like a rocket, slowly disappearing into the night of Gotham.

"What did I say? The Superman and Batman in our universe are not normal." Pamela shrugged.
