Shen Gongbao Great Sage Persuading Death Immortal

Chapter 389 [In the past, Yuanshi was Pangu]

Chapter 389 [In the past, Yuanshi was Pangu]

"The Bodhisattva is a bit extreme."

Shen Gongbao sighed. The idea of equality for all beings is indeed a great compassion, but this great compassion is filled with great demonic intent.

There are farmers who eat one chicken egg a day, fishermen who eat three thousand fish roe at night, hunters who hunt jackals, tigers and leopards, and even a golden-winged roc that devours all the civil and military officials, men, women and children of a kingdom, and occupies the city as its king.

The act of eating and eating somehow resembled the survival of the fittest, echoing the ruthless, predatory philosophy of the Ziwei Emperor.

"One cannot become a Buddha without becoming a madman." Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva uttered a Buddhist chant. His clasped fingers were as white as jade, and the clear light flowing from the white hair between his eyebrows dimmed instantly. Demonic flames ignited all over his body, and a sudden evil wind arose, causing his kasaya to flutter wildly.

As the saying goes, Buddhas and Taoists become demons, and demons become Buddhas through enlightenment; Buddhas and demons are one, arising from a single thought.

These days, even a highly respected Buddhist monk wouldn't dare claim to be an expert in Buddhism if he hadn't fallen into demonic possession. If a demon king in the demon realm couldn't comprehend Buddhist teachings, he would only be a minor demon, not a true demon king.

In Buddhism, all the joys and sorrows, partings and reunions in the human world are a kind of suffering. In this life, one is a human, and in the next life, one is a demon. Humans kill demons, and demons kill humans, just like a turning wheel, endlessly reborn, which is called reincarnation.

If one does not comprehend the despair of this endless cycle of rebirth, how can one aspire to Buddhahood, or have the thought of transcendence?

Gazing at the great light and the immense demonic power, Shen Gongbao exclaimed in horror, "The Heavenly Prison is a place of desolation in the end times. Under the decrees of the Heavenly Emperor and all the saints, all laws are forbidden. Where would a Bodhisattva obtain such power?"

“This is not magic power, but the thirty-two marks and eighty minor marks of the Buddha.” Wu Peng snorted and said, “Just like the innate body of my human race, it is an innate supernatural power, like eating and drinking, something we are born with, and it is not among the forbidden arts.”

"The innate Dao body was created by Nuwa in imitation of Pangu's eighty-one transformations, hence it was born of heaven and earth." Shen Gongbao frowned and said, "I have never heard of any Pangu having the form of the Tathagata, able to surpass all emperors."

“Excellent, excellent, all sentient beings possess Buddha-nature.” Mahasthamaprapta smiled slightly and said, “Therefore, the Dharma form is naturally formed.”

Shen Gongbao suddenly felt a jolt, as if an electric current had shot through his body, and as if the clouds had parted to reveal the sun, all his previous doubts were resolved.

All sentient and insentient beings are transformed from Pangu. Sentient beings are Pangu, and Pangu is sentient beings. Since all sentient beings have Buddha-nature, does that mean Pangu also has Buddha-nature?

"The various realms of the Great Luo are vying for the one phase of Pangu. Whoever occupies that phase is the rightful heir of the primordial world, thus leading to the struggle for destiny among all races and the fusion of civilizations, which is the innate path."

Wu Peng said in a deep voice, "Even though I dislike Buddhism, I have to admire Shakyamuni's great wisdom. He did not follow the path of the innate but explored the ultimate path of the acquired."

“It is not that Shakyamuni Buddha has wisdom, but that all sentient beings have great wisdom.” Mahasthamaprapta nodded and said, “A lone wolf cannot form a pack, but it is through compassion that it forms a clan. Having seen compassion, one should awaken the Bodhicitta.”

Wu Peng, who had just been admiring them, now scoffed, "What compassion? A race is formed by blood..."

"Fellow Daoist, do you wish to discuss the Dao with me?" The Bodhisattva's face was compassionate, yet it was radiating with demonic fire, clearly indicating that he did not want to yield.

Although they are both in the Heavenly Prison, their Great Daos are different. If we continue to discuss this, it will become a struggle over the Great Daos.

Wu Peng realized his mistake and cursed himself for arguing with the bald man. The Buddhists are masters of debate. No matter if you are right or wrong, you have already lost half the battle by opening your mouth with a monk. The best way is to take action directly instead of talking nonsense.

However, since they are still in the Heavenly Prison, they need to rely on the power of Buddhism, so it's not advisable to turn against them for the time being.

So Wu Peng coughed lightly, patted Shen Gongbao on the shoulder, and changed the subject, saying, "We great shamans don't stoop to the level of monks. This bald guy is too boring. Come on, let me take you to see another great shaman of our generation."

"And there's also the Witch God." Shen Gongbao was shocked. Although the Ziwei Emperor occupied one of the Four Emperors, the Fuxi Emperor was still alive, the Demon God had not completely won, and there was also Haotian in the center looking down on all races. How could all the Great Witches have entered the Heavenly Prison?

"It's not so much a witch god, but a witch ghost." Wu Peng's expression was strange as he pointed in a certain direction, where a divine peak stood, shrouded in clouds and mist, with cranes circling around it.

"I also have some connection with you, fellow Daoist." Mahasthamaprapta's casual remark aroused Shen Gongbao's curiosity. Who exactly was this person?

Although the three could not use their magic, they possessed innate supernatural abilities. They overcame all obstacles and reached the mountain peak in half a day.

On the edge of the Danxia cliff, amidst the clouds and mist, sat a Taoist priest, dressed in a black robe inlaid with gold, his white hair adorned with silver hairpins. His face was thin and slender, yet his complexion was ruddy, giving him the air of a youthful spirit despite his white hair, and the demeanor of a Taoist immortal. He was no ancient shaman, but clearly a Taoist immortal.

When the immortal saw the three of them coming up the mountain, he stood up and said with a smile, "Junior brother has come from afar. I am sorry for not welcoming you properly."

Upon seeing the Taoist wearing a fish-tail crown, Shen Gongbao hurriedly returned the greeting, saying, "Senior brother, you seem quite carefree, even though you are in the Heavenly Prison."

"The human body is a prison, and the world is also a cage. Wherever you are, you are in prison."

The Taoist sighed, brought out two prayer mats, and had the two sit down. He then sneered at Mahasthamaprapta, "Baldy, stand over there."

The Bodhisattva Mahasthamaprapta clicked his tongue twice and said, "What a stingy old Taoist priest, he has disgraced Xuandu."

Shen Gongbao's heart skipped a beat, and he tentatively asked, "Where in Xuandu does Senior Brother govern?"

“In the past, Xuandu was a virtuous ghost, who abandoned human affairs and served Heaven. He did not use human strategists, but relied on tortoise shells and divination sticks. He used shamans to govern the country, and wise men were abroad. Xuandu perished.” The Bodhisattva Mahasthamaprapta sneered and revealed the origin of the Taoist: “The souls of the dead from Shu return to Kunlun, where they obtain the elixir of immortality and can be reborn. The kings of Guifang are both shamans and immortals.”

"The transformation of witches and ghosts into Huangdi and Laozi is the origin of the corpse-dissolving ghost immortals of Shu."

"Corpse dissolution?" Shen Gongbao was startled. He looked at the Taoist and found no trace of yin energy. Instead, the Taoist shone with divine light, indicating that he was a deity.

"Junior brother, don't listen to that monk's nonsense." The Taoist secretly mocked Mahasthamaprapta for being a barbarian, then changed the subject and said calmly, "My Tao is also orthodox. Fellow Taoist, do you know that in one era, the Primordial Heavenly Venerable created the world for Pangu?"

“We’re naturally acquainted,” Shen Gongbao said with a smile. “I am a disciple of the Jade Void Sect.”

"I see." The Taoist was surprised and said, "I almost mistook my junior brother for a member of the Biyou Sect. My apologies."

Shen Gongbao's expression darkened, and he coughed lightly, saying, "Senior brother, please continue with your story."

The Taoist was not angry, but smiled and said, "Since Pangu is the origin, what is the most important thing in the creation of heaven and earth?"

"Pangu transformed into all things, but his primordial spirit and essence were the foremost," Shen Gongbao said subconsciously. "The Three Pure Ones naturally revere Yuanshi, and the Twelve Ancestral Witches are the legitimate successors of Yuanshi..."

"Wait, the Primordial Orthodox Lineage?!"

Shen Gongbao swallowed hard, his voice trembling slightly as he asked, "The Twelve Immortals?"

The Twelve Immortals of Jade Void were actually once the Twelve Ancestral Witches?

"That's right. The transformation from witchcraft to immortality is the lineage passed down from that era." The Taoist wearing a fish-tail crown clapped his hands and laughed, "Breaking mountains and destroying temples, sweeping away the old atmosphere, establishing the pure atmosphere, the Primordial Beginning opened the heavens, and Laozi ruled the world."

Like a bolt from the blue, Shen Gongbao suddenly realized what was happening, stood up and bowed, saying, "It is actually Zhang Tianshi in person, my apologies."

"Shut up!" Zhang Daoren's expression suddenly changed, but it was too late to stop him.

As soon as the words "Celestial Master" were uttered, the Heavenly Emperor's restriction was activated, and a bolt of chaotic divine lightning struck down, turning Zhang Daoren into a charred mess.

The Bodhisattva Mahasthamaprapta smiled and said, "Heavens, how can there be a teacher!"

To become Haotian's teacher, one must at least possess the cultivation of Hongjun, but even with Hongjun's cultivation, it may not last long.

Do you not see that the Purple Cloud Palace is now empty, the Dao Ancestor is gone, and the Heavenly Emperor reigns supreme?
