Chapter 1020, The Angel's Bitter Struggle

Chapter 1020, The Angel's Bitter Struggle
The forces of the High Master of Death, Organron, are already engaged in a fierce battle.

He felt a rare pang of regret.

But only a little bit.

If given another chance to choose, he would still summon the army of the Angels of Death and venture into this land of death, only he would be more cautious, gather more troops, and carefully consider whether to accept the support of the new empire.

But no matter what, it's bound to come.

Of course he knew that the evil god named Bassol had suddenly appeared in the Honey Earth sector of the Osa star system, and that it was clear to them that it was no coincidence, nor was it because their intelligence capabilities were particularly strong; it was purely Bassol's doing.

This is an invitation, but also a blatant provocation.

The Angel of Death will definitely come.

Being driven into the interior of the Stone Monastery is something that hasn't happened in ten thousand years of the Warband's history!
This scene unfolded during the last attack on the Stone Monastery. Had it not been for the sudden arrival of the Blood Angel, the Death Angel, caught off guard by the attack, might not have survived that battle.

For the Angels of Death, this was a profound disgrace. Taking advantage of their weakened state, the great enemy of Chaos launched a despicable sneak attack.

The mere act of washing away the shame was enough to provoke the Angels of Death to launch a full-scale attack on Bassol.

Moreover, the purpose of this war is not merely related to shame or honor.

They had even more compelling reasons to come.

When the last time the Stone Monastery was breached by the Chaos's greatest enemy, what the Angel of Death was most worried about was actually the many secrets they had buried deep within the stone.

Has the secret been discovered by outsiders?
Is it possible for a large-scale, widespread leak?
For the Angels of Death, the most important goal is to eliminate any potential sources of leakage.

Furthermore, it is best to avoid the involvement of forces outside the lineage of the Angels of Death.

Therefore, even knowing that this battlefield was likely a pre-planned area by the enemy, a trap, he still led his men into it without hesitation.

His daring to jump was not purely reckless.

He has his own strengths.

Last time, the Death Angels suffered a loss because they only had a small portion of their own chapter's forces. While they were elite enough, their numbers were simply insufficient. Under the rules of the Space Marine Codex, the legions had long been broken up, and even the Death Angels could only maintain a strength of a thousand men.

But that is by no means the full power of the Angel of Death.

This time, the 20,000 warriors that Erganglong has gathered are enough to be called a 'legion' in scale!
He was determined to utterly annihilate these enemies who dared to defy the Angel of Death!

So what if it's a trap? Erganglong believes that with the powerful force he has gathered, he can crush any trap or not underfoot!
The battle broke out in full force as soon as they entered the Honey Saturn sector.

Initially, the tide of war was tilted in favor of the Angels of Death. They held a significant advantage in space warfare and in ground landings on several planets.

Besides inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy, their advantage included another crucial gain: Bassol was forced to reveal himself in a battle, resulting in the annihilation of a Death Angel squad. That wasn't Bassol's true form, of course, but according to the Death Angels' Chief Think Tank, this avatar represented a significant investment of Bassol's full strength.

Destroying this avatar would greatly weaken Bassor's power, preventing him from casting new avatars into the real universe for at least the next hundred years, thus significantly impacting his ability to interfere with the real universe.

It's unlikely that a warp god could be directly destroyed, as was the case with beings of Bassor's level. However, destroying his most important avatar, thwarting his plans, and slaughtering all the Chaos traitors who served him... accomplishing these things would temporarily satisfy the Angels of Death, and could be considered a significant act of revenge.

So, after this guy showed up and the accuracy of the intelligence was confirmed, Erganglong immediately deployed a large number of troops to the target location.

That is a world called Rainborn Star in the Honey Earth Star Sector.

According to intelligence, the planet Yusheng is a rainforest world with abundant rainfall. Approximately 91% of its surface is covered by acidic oceans, while the remaining 9% of its landmass is located near the planet's equator, forming hot and humid rainforest zones. The total population of the planet is estimated at around 5.5 million. Their main industries are logging, processing, and primary agricultural products, making it a relatively poor and underdeveloped world.

However, during the battle, the Angels of Death discovered that the 'Rainborn Star' they encountered... seemed a little off. The land area was much larger than recorded; there were dense forests, but they were quite different from the rainforest areas in the footage, the types of trees were different, and each one was quite... distorted.

Initially, they believed that the main reason for such a big change was the corruption of chaos.

According to think tank analyses, Rainborn Planet has largely fallen into subspace, and may even be semi-subspaced. Under these circumstances, nothing that happens on Rainborn Planet seems particularly surprising.

But they soon discovered that things weren't so simple.

Rather than saying that Rainborn Star is semi-subspaced and about to fall into the Chaos Demon Realm, it would be more accurate to say that what is here is not Rainborn Star at all.

Everything here is almost exactly the same as the home planet Knights, which should have been destroyed ten thousand years ago, according to the Warband's records!
Bassor! How dare he provoke the Angel of Death like this!

All of this was done on purpose by that evil god!
Such blasphemy enraged the angels of death!
Whether that evil god did this for some ulterior motive or simply to humiliate the angels of death, it no longer matters.

Must kill!
Organron led his most elite group of death angels and their minions to Rainborn Star—they refused to acknowledge it as their home planet and continued to use its original name.

However, this is indeed a trap.

When Erganglong arrived on Rainborn Star with his core main force, he quickly discovered that the enemy was not as easy to deal with as he had previously appeared.

He and his troops were engaged in a fierce battle.

I had planned to write as much as possible during my business trip, but... I'm ashamed to say I couldn't.

I will continue to update it steadily until it is finished; it's almost done.

I'm not going anywhere for the National Day holiday; I'll stay home and write!
