Chapter 1014, The Meeting (Part 1)
The Blood Eye Gang was utterly wiped out.
This is only natural.
The Blood-Eyed Warriors are quite strong. They are able to gain the upper hand in battle against a detachment of the Angel Expeditionary Force and even launch a counterattack, which is quite impressive.
It is far more powerful than most of the enemies humanity encountered during the Dark Side Expedition.
However, no matter how powerful something is, there is always a limit.
They can defeat one detachment, but can they defeat two?
If necessary, if it's a really tough nut to crack, then the Alliance can send a third or fourth detachment fleet.
Moreover, after hearing the news of the Son of God, the matter received considerable attention from the Alliance's higher-ups. Under orders, Dante personally led the main force of the angelic expeditionary force here.
With this troop configuration, the Blood Eye Gang couldn't even handle the internal uprising, so how could they possibly hold out when attacked from both sides?
Their main force was wiped out in one battle. Apart from a small number of those who fled in panic and were of little use, the rest were just cult members on various planets who were struggling to even evacuate.
The war is not completely over, but what follows is more of a counterinsurgency war.
As the Dark Side Expedition has progressed to this point, a complete set of mature methods and solutions have been developed for the work of cleanup, eradication, and reconstruction.
The first step is to assess the planet's importance and value. For high-value worlds, a large-scale, decisive ground crackdown and cleanup is implemented. At this stage, cost and time are often irrelevant; the focus is simply on getting things done.
These kinds of worlds are either rich in resources, with excellent agricultural conditions, abundant mineral deposits, and precious resources such as adamantite and mithril that can be mined and refined; they have exceptionally good energy properties; they have a large population; and they have exceptionally strong industrial capacity...
In short, all of these count.
Alternatively, it may have strategic value, as its location is a special transportation hub on the star map, and failure to occupy it would block a large number of interstellar routes.
Or it might possess exceptionally significant political importance, the fall of which would greatly impact morale across the entire region. For example, it might have significant historical value, or it might be the capital of a star system or even a cosmic region…
But overall, such high-value worlds are relatively rare.
The remaining worlds will first undergo a safety zone strategy assessment. Those with major but minor problems will be placed in the safety zone, where planets will be autonomous and the alliance will provide support based on the assessment level. Once their problems are gradually resolved over time, or if the problems were relatively minor to begin with, they will be directly transformed into alliance-based political systems and brought under the direct rule of the alliance government.
Establish a government, invest, develop the economy, provide tax revenue and profits, build up the local defense forces...
That's all there is to it.
However, some problems arose here.
With a son of God around, things get complicated.
Even without Richard the Lionheart, the Alliance has a well-established set of methods for dealing with rebel groups.
Generally, the alliance acknowledges the blood and sacrifices made by rebels, resistance fighters, and other groups in defending the planet and humanity, praises their achievements, and actively incorporates these loyal human forces into the alliance's governmental system. The alliance highly respects the contributions of the local population, and their seats are guaranteed in newly formed regimes, usually substantial ones.
However, overall, the alliance system should still be followed. A high degree of autonomy, like the old empire's "local tyrant" planetary governor system, is definitely out of the question.
If these native forces, after being rescued, harbor any rebellious intentions or ulterior motives, that will certainly not be tolerated. First, negotiations; then warnings; if those fail, an ultimatum will be issued. At this point, they will be labeled as rebels, defined as enemies of humanity, and targeted for suppression. Their treatment will be similar to that of Chaos enemies, Xenomorph enemies, and heretics. The only difference might be that the Alliance can accept their surrender, but not the surrender of Chaos or Xenomorphs.
But the Son of God... is still too special.
Currently, within the New Empire's territory, there is only one special zone that has not been institutionalized into an alliance: the Infinite Chapter's stronghold, the Infinite Starfield.
The fact that the Infinite Starfield is allowed a high degree of autonomy and is written into the Imperial Constitution as a 'political special zone' is due to another important factor besides the fact that they are indeed governed quite well, no less than the core areas of the Alliance: Robert's special status as the Son of God.
Otherwise, the reputation of the Infinite Warband, a founding group, alone would not be enough to enable a star system to govern itself.
The other founding chapters, such as the Saints, and the Phoenix, Bat, and Golden Knight chapters which have now returned to the command of the Empire, also only have autonomy over their own homeworlds.
This was clearly stipulated in the Space Marine Codex, and the Alliance did not challenge it.
This isn't just true for newly formed groups; it's the same for some older groups as well.
However, the concept of a homeworld no longer exists in any of the newly established warbands.
All Space Marine training comes from the Newblood Breeding Centre, which is under the Space Marine Administration. Their 'homeworld' is the entire Alliance and the entire New Empire.
The Infinite Starfield, thanks to the Son of God and its own excellent governance, earned the special status of the Infinite Starfield. But how will the Lionheart King handle this situation?
Dante attempted to persuade Richard the Lionheart to order his rebels to relinquish their rule and allow the Allied government to establish a new regime.
But Leon rejected it.
It wasn't that he completely refused, but, in his words, he didn't understand what the Alliance was, nor had he heard of any new empire. Since awakening, he had inexplicably arrived in this region corrupted by the Blood-Eyed War Gang, leading the people of over a dozen planets in rebellion against the rule of Chaos. He couldn't possibly hand over his achievements so easily.
Faced with this situation, Gu Hang intervened directly.
After a brief discussion with Robert, he extended an invitation to the Lionheart through Dante.
Leon wanted to know what the Alliance was and what the new Empire was, didn't he?
Then please come to Holy Terra.
The Imperial Prime Minister and the Imperial Regent were waiting for him in the Imperial Capital for this meeting.
The veiled spirit gate is perfectly capable of supporting such small-scale meetings.
Even if Leon wanted to bring his guards, that was fine with him.
His guards were a group of Space Marines with black armor and red trim, wearing ancient battle armor and marked as belonging to the Death Angels, but their paint scheme and identity were completely different from the current Death Angels Chapter.
