Chapter 531 Channels
Another day of meetings ended. Charles spoke for half an hour and then left the meeting. Later, someone found him leaving the venue with an American girl who was long-legged and extremely beautiful.

That night, Fudge came to Charles's place and found him entangled with the girl on the sofa.

When the girl saw Fudge coming, she let go of Charles and got up to leave.

"It seems I came at a bad time." Fudge smiled and asked for a new chair to sit down. He then picked up the half-bottle of wine on the table and looked at the label. "This is a good wine."

Charles frowned and said, "There's truth serum in it."

He said as he ran to the bathroom and heard a retching sound.

Fudge frowned.

Charles' identity is somewhat special. He is a well-known figure in the British wizarding community and has some fame internationally.

By doing this, aren't the Americans slapping the face of the British Ministry of Magic?
Charles returned to the sofa and sat down. On the way, he took a bottle of happy water from the refrigerator and drank it all in one gulp.

Seeing that he had recovered, Fudge asked, "What is the American going to do?"

Charles burped and said, "Minister, you should have heard about what happened on a small island in the Caribbean last summer."

Fudge said, "I understand. This matter has something to do with you?"

Last summer, a wizard rescued a girl and a boy from an island and killed many people, but because some people believed that this behavior violated the International Statute of Secrecy, the International Confederation of Wizards debated it and the Magical Congress of the United States even had a wanted warrant.

Fudge couldn't understand how this matter was related to Charles.

Charles said: "The MACUSA found out that the neighbor of the child who was rescued was my friend, and I happened to go play with that friend before the incident, so some people think that I hired someone to do it."

He didn't say something, but the Americans suspected him, which might be related to his close relationship with Moscow.

Fudge nodded slightly after hearing this, thinking that with Charles's character, he would really find someone to rescue people if he encountered such a thing.

He asked very seriously: "Charles, did you hire someone to do that?"

"You can talk to me without worrying about it. I won't make things difficult for you because I also think this is the right thing to do. I'm just worried that he might encounter an accident."

Charles spread his hands and said, "I didn't ask the wizard to go to that island."

"If I need to find someone, I can only find Professor Dumbledore. I can't find my grandfather."

Fudge thought it made sense. The only powerful and righteous wizard Charles could find was Dumbledore, and at that time Dumbledore was busy preparing for the Triwizard Tournament and had no time to take action.

He said to Charles, "Don't worry, I will tell the Magical Congress of the United States through private channels that this is a misunderstanding."

Charles said, "Thank you, Minister."

Fudge mentioned the main purpose of the night and asked casually, "How is the business of the Dancing Grass Restaurant recently?"

Charles replied: "Fortunately, there are more customers than usual."

Fudge asked again: "Are restaurants facing a lot of cost pressure right now?"

Charles replied: "It can still be maintained."

He wondered in his heart why Fudge brought up this matter. Could it be that he wanted to talk to him and the goblin?
Fudge said tentatively: "The price of food is getting higher and higher now. If you feel that the cost pressure is too great, you can raise the price."

Charles immediately became alert. How could a customer ask a restaurant to raise its prices? There must be something wrong behind it.

He thought that Fudge might have seen the clues from the price and determined that he had other channels to purchase goods. So what was Fudge's purpose, was it to let him share the channels, or to use this to put pressure on the goblins?
Charles said: "For now, the restaurant can still maintain, at least for a relatively long period of time will not increase prices."

He changed the subject and let Fudge explain his purpose himself.

Fudge pretended to be surprised and asked, "Won't you lose money this way?"

Charles saw that he was getting to the point and decided to fool around: "The guests' happiness is the most important thing."

When Fudge heard him say this, he was not sure for a moment whether Charles really thought so or was aware of his intention.

He said anxiously, "If this continues, I'm worried that the purchasing staff will reduce the quality for the sake of price."

"You may not have experienced such a thing when you first started your business, but I have seen it before. A store that was hundreds of years old went bankrupt because of this, so you have to be careful."

Seeing that he had indeed brought up the topic of channels, Charles followed up with the conversation, "It's okay. The person in charge of the purchasing department is the sister of a Gryffindor graduate. Many professors, including Professor Dumbledore, admire her very much. One professor still misses her very much. I trust her sister."

After hearing this, Fudge thought for a while and believed that it was a relative of a classmate Charles met in previous years in another college, just like the Indian twins now.

He was thinking again that Charles was reluctant to reveal the man's name because he might have some concerns, such as thinking that he had already taken away the goblin's business and was afraid that the goblin would cause trouble.

But that's enough.

Fudge didn't want the channel of the Dancing Grass Restaurant, but after confirming the existence of such a channel, he would use it as a tool to exert pressure when negotiating with the goblins.

The purpose had been achieved, and the minister started talking to Charles about something else: "What do you think of Percy Weasley?"

Charles was a little uncomfortable with Fudge's jumping around in topics and wondered if his goal had been achieved.

He couldn't figure it out for a moment, so he put it aside and replied, "Percy is a very serious and motivated person."

"I want him to be in charge of dealing with the goblins," said Fudge.

Percy is now a staff member under Charles, and any job transfer in the department still requires Charles' approval.

Charles talked to Percy last night and said with a frown, "The large-scale treatment of werewolves around the world will begin in the second half of the year. This involves a lot of work. Percy's task will be heavy. I also plan to ask the minister to arrange some helpers for him and Lupin."

It is said to be arranging helpers, but in fact it is asking others to come to the table and share the cake.

Charles, Lupin and Percy would definitely get the biggest piece of the pie, but the rest would be enough for quite a few people to enjoy.

There are so many people in the Ministry of Magic, and not all of them want to be as free and easy as Arthur. There are many people like Percy who want to climb up, and many of their children also want to make progress.

Charles just didn't want Percy to fall into this trap, but Fudge misunderstood.

"Percy is a fine young man," said the Minister. "He is certainly worth investing in."

"He can be a very good official, but he cannot be a leader. This is determined by his character."

Charles discovered that Fudge believed he was right in choosing Percy as the spokesperson for the Ministry of Magic, so he didn't let him fall into the trap.

He said: “Someone has to do it.”

After talking about the two things, Fudge talked about some other light topics and left soon.
