Ordinary observers in fast time travel
Chapter 1008 Where is this?
Shi Jia didn't know where she was. All she knew was that her whole body was burning with pain, especially her legs and face.
The surrounding air also smelled bad, like the smell of metal being struck by lightning, and it was filled with countless metal particles.
Well, Shi Jia had never smelled air filled with countless metallic particles before, but that's how she felt at that moment.
Her eyes were tightly closed. She couldn't help it; it wasn't that she didn't want to open them, but she was now facing direct sunlight, a blinding light she had never experienced before. Hmm? How did she know she had never felt anything like this before?
I am Shi Jia, but who am I?
Shi Jia felt her head was heavy, and she had no memory of anything. This made her increasingly uncomfortable.
Shi Jia lay there in the scorching sunlight, the pain in her body intensifying. She couldn't move, couldn't even speak, and her throat burned. She felt a sticky sensation in her throat, swallowing her saliva mixed with the taste of blood.
Oh, she can't even cough up blood now.
Time passed slowly, and the sunlight seemed to lessen. Despite the excruciating pain throughout her body, she felt a faint energy surging from her brain and slowly moving downwards.
As the energy moved, Shi Jia felt the pain lessen considerably.
Since the sunlight had stopped being scorching, time seemed to speed up, and it quickly grew dark. She opened her eyes.
It was dark!
That was her only feeling. It was dark all around, and she couldn't see anything. If it weren't for the real feel of the weeds beneath her, she would have thought there was nothing at all.
Shi Jia's face and legs were still in pain. She carefully reached out and touched them; they were sticky and had a fishy smell! It didn't smell like normal blood!
"Could it be poisoning?" she blurted out instinctively. She was anxious, but she still couldn't sit up. The only things she could move were her hands and eyes.
Thinking of the energy emanating from her mind, she quickly focused her attention and tried to draw that energy out and apply it to her legs.
The wilderness in the dark is often dangerous, and the dangers in the unknown place where Shi Jia is located are even more unpredictable.
Soon after darkness fell, the surrounding grass began to rustle and rustle, and further away, the roars of beasts could be heard continuously. The stench of blood wafted on the wind, startling Shi Jia, who was struggling to transport energy, several times.
But she was also lucky; no matter how lively the surroundings were, no small animals came to "disturb" her.
After a night of moving things, as dawn broke, Shi Jia was finally able to move her legs. She struggled to sit up, supporting herself with her hands.
She looked down and saw a large scab on her left thigh, and a similar large scab on her right knee where it was bent. She first touched her left leg; there was no twisting. She then moved her left leg; it was free to move, so there shouldn't be any problem.
She touched her right leg again; her knee was dislocated, and she could feel sharp bone spurs, indicating a comminuted fracture.
"Hoo~" Shi Jia pursed her lips and looked around. The grass leaves around her were sharp and dark green. The distant forest was also dark. If it weren't for the sunlight shining on the leaves and reflecting a little green, she would have thought the leaves were black.
About a hundred meters away from her, there was a large, silver-gray object.
Shi Jia braced herself with her hands on the ground and struggled to stand up on her left leg. She needed to see what that silver-gray object was and whether it was related to her identity.
Shi Jia grabbed a blade of grass in each hand, took a deep breath, and leaped up. He quickly let go of the grass and grabbed the blade of grass in front of him to steady himself.
"Hiss~" A tearing pain shot through my right foot.
Shi Jia took a deep breath and continued jumping. At first, Shi Jia would pull her right leg with each jump, but gradually, she was able to hop on her left leg with ease.
Shi Jia jumped for over thirty minutes covering a distance of about a hundred meters, then leaned against the silver-gray object, panting heavily, slowly calming her wildly beating heart. After a while, her breathing returned to normal. She glanced at her right leg, which was bleeding again, then casually looked away and began to examine the silver-gray object. Soon, she saw the deformed hatch on the other side.
Escape pod!
The word popped into Shi Jia's mind. She blinked and followed her hazy memory. It was a single-person escape pod, small in space but fully equipped with escape supplies.
Shi Jia pulled a small box from the side of the cabin. Inside were five vials of nutrient solution, a bottle of hemostatic spray, a roll of gauze, and a bottle of repair solution.
Memories of these things automatically appeared in Shi Jia's mind when she received them.
She picked up a bottle of nutrient solution and drank it. It didn't taste like much, but she felt a bit stronger. She then picked up a hemostatic spray and sprayed it on her right leg, and the bleeding stopped immediately.
But having his right leg bent was no good! He had to find somewhere with people as soon as possible. With that thought, Shi Jia rummaged around in the escape pod again and finally pulled out a piece of cloth of unknown material and a long, unidentified metal strip.
Shi Jia stubbornly tried to pry open the escape pod, but how could she possibly do that? It was something that could drift in space and shield itself from cosmic radiation; it wasn't made of paper.
In the end, Shi Jia had no choice but to give up. The sun overhead was getting hotter and hotter, and that metallic smell of air drifted in again.
Thinking of the burning sensation, Shi Jia quickly took out gauze to fix her right leg, so that at least her right leg wouldn't be affected when she jumped later.
After binding her right leg, she also tied the nutrient solution, hemostatic spray, and repair fluid to the inside of her right leg. Finally, she draped herself in the unknown piece of cloth she had just found, and began her journey, leaning on the metal bar for support.
The sunlight grew increasingly intense, and Shi Jia's head began to feel dizzy; the stinging sensation of the sunlight returned.
This time, however, she only felt a stinging pain in her head and face; the areas of her body that were covered didn't feel much. She immediately realized the special nature of the fabric and quickly tore it open to wrap her head and body together.
After a while, the energy flowing out of my head relieved the stinging pain in my head and face.
Shi Jia's mind cleared up. "Let's find a place that can block out the sun and wait for the sun to pass."
She peered out through the gap in the fabric. To her left was a forest, to her right an endless wasteland, and in front of her was a mountain, shrouded in mist and indistinct.
She was a little lost; which way should she go?
After thinking for a while, she decided to avoid the sunlight, so she headed towards the woods.
"Shasha~"
Before she even got close, Shi Jia felt a chill run down her spine. An extremely dangerous aura enveloped her, and her intuition told her that she was now a lamb on the chopping block, a pig in the butcher's hands.
She immediately stopped, staring intently at the woods, and took one, two, three steps back.
Suddenly, a dark shadow lunged at her. Shi Jia instinctively dodged to the left, and to her horror, she saw a long, snake-like vine graz her cheek.
Shi Jia's breath hitched, and the will to survive took over her mind. Her left leg seemed to be equipped with a motor, and she jumped incredibly fast. In less than a minute, she had jumped more than ten meters away and successfully escaped the strangulation of the vines.
"Hoo~ho!"
Shi Jia was panting heavily. She subconsciously turned around and saw that the previously quiet forest was now like it had been hit by a typhoon. The branches were growing wildly and the leaves were flying everywhere, as if it had gone mad.
She couldn't help but shiver, pursed her lips, looked at the boundless wilderness and the misty mountains, and felt that there was nowhere safe.
A desperate panic quickly overwhelmed her; she trembled, collapsed to the ground, wrapped her arms around herself, and sobbed uncontrollably. (End of Chapter)
