Chapter 1347 Radar Station
Chapter 1347 Radar Station
Jack and Clay had already taken off their diving suits, revealing the still tight jellyfish suits underneath. Each of them was carrying a large equipment box, and at first glance they looked like Saint Seiya who had come for training.
Although the surface water temperature of the Caribbean Sea remains at around 26 degrees all year round, there is still a risk of hypothermia when diving for a long time at night.
Therefore, in addition to choosing a 3 mm thick diving suit, the two also put on a layer of jellyfish suit inside, which makes it easier to put on and take off.
Following the gravel path to the top of the mountain, they saw a cylindrical building similar to a bunker.
The so-called radar station seemed to be rebuilt from a small meteorological observatory located at the highest point of the island. Its exterior had long been mottled due to the erosion of salt-rich water vapor, and some unknown vines were climbing on the outer walls.
It is unknown when the original meteorological observatory was built. It was only about ten meters high and looked like a three-story building. The wind speed measuring instrument on the top had long been rusted and bent to the side.
Instead, a white radar antenna in the shape of a building block was slowly spinning. It looked quite new and seemed somewhat out of place with the old-looking building.
-
"Bedi, guess who I saw during the day?" The young black man in a colorful satin shirt was sucking on his cigar happily, sitting with his legs raised high on the table in a very uncouth manner, looking very leisurely.
The middle-aged Latino man sitting opposite the black guy, whom he called Bedi, had a lighter complexion and a curly beard and was also smoking.
However, compared to his companions' indifference, his eyes would at least scan the beeping radar display from time to time.
"Haven't we met enough celebrities? I suggest you better shut up. The people above don't like to hear us talking about this kind of thing." Bedi warned with a stern face.
"No, no, no, I bet you can never imagine this." Xiao Hei flicked the ash from his cigarette, put down his feet, and put his face close to the other person across the table, looking mysterious.
"It is the Duke of York, and he has brought his nephew's wife with him."
Hearing this title, Bedi, who had been serious at first, became nervous, "The Second Prince? Oh, no, after his brother ascended the throne, the title of prince should be that of his two nephews.
Diego, are you sure you read it right? Are you saying that the Duke brought a future queen to our island?"
Diego laughed, "She's not the eldest prince's wife, but the second prince's. I heard them call her Megan. I don't think she can become the queen, but this is already exciting enough, isn't it?"
"The Duke of York was once the Second Prince. Perhaps he and the current Second Prince have the same taste in bed partners."
Bedi curled his lips in disdain, but seemed to be successfully aroused by Diego's topic, "That's nothing, I have seen an old man in a wheelchair come to this island, it seems that the only part of his body that can move is his eyes.
What was his name? I can't remember, but he was the scientist who said the universe was created by a big bang."
Diego's dark face suddenly became very interesting. "Are you kidding? What can he do? Stick out his tongue?"
Bedi shrugged to indicate that you can believe it or not, "Who knows? I heard that he likes to watch little girls doing homework on the blackboard."
"It's hard to understand." Diego took a deep sip of the cigar butt that was already a little hot, threw it on the ground and stomped it out, "I'm going to go out and get some fresh air. Is the fishing boat still there?" Bedi glanced at the radar display and nodded, "It's still there. I hope they leave later tomorrow morning. We can drive the speedboat over to buy some fresh fish from them.
That damn British chef only cares about cooking for the guests, and our staff meals are always sloppy."
"It would be great if I could get a tuna, or sardines would be fine too. I can make fish soup, and my mom has a very delicious secret recipe for it!"
Little Black Diego's figure disappeared at the door, and the last sound he made was a little strange, but it did not arouse Bedi's vigilance.
After a long while, the Latino still didn't see his partner come back, so he stood up and walked towards the door with some confusion, "Hey! Are you trying to slack off again? The supervisor will check on me over the radio in ten minutes, and I won't cover up for you anymore."
However, apart from the sound of waves crashing in the distance, there was still no movement at the door.
"Diego?" Bedi held the door frame with one hand and looked out in confusion. However, before his eyes could adjust to the dim moonlight outside, he was strangled by a strong and powerful arm.
-
"We have passed the 'yellow stage' and entered the 'green stage', over!" Jack stuffed the communicator back into his waist and slapped him hard.
"Snapped!"
"Ah, uh." Bedi, who was awakened from his coma by the huge pain, only had time to let out half a scream, and the rest of the sound was stuck in his throat, because he felt a cold and stinging pain coming from his chin, where a sharp dagger was now pressed.
Clay walked down the stairs with an AKM slung over his shoulder, and said in a relaxed tone, "It's safe up there. It looks like the security on the island is a lot more lax than we thought."
"It's probably because he's been comfortable for too long." Jack glanced at the tattoos on the arms of the middle-aged Latin American man in front of him. On one side was a statue of the Virgin Mary, and on the other side was a python and an assault rifle with a bayonet. It was a typical South American military tattoo.
"Beddy, right? I thought you wouldn't mind talking to us."
Jack spoke calmly, as if he was chatting with a friend he had just met, "There are still five minutes until your supervisor comes to check on you. I think you will be willing to cooperate with us, right?"
As he spoke, his hand gently turned the handle of the knife, and as the sharp blade scratched across his cheek, leaving a trail of blood, the curly beard fell from Bedi's face.
Feeling the stinging pain spreading from his chin to his cheek, the Latino man initially stiffened his neck and tried to look tough. Even as blood slowly slid down his cheek, he still stared at the other person without blinking.
But as Jack raised his wrist, the tip of the knife flashing a cold light appeared in front of his eyes, and it was getting closer and closer to his eyeball. Bedi took a hard breath.
"Stop, what do you want to know? I am willing to cooperate with you."
At the same time, on the other side, Clay was doing the same thing to another security guard, but Diego's mental quality was much worse. He was begging for mercy almost the moment he woke up.
