Under one person: I, Zhang Zhiwei, the arrogant Zhang.
Chapter 912 Viewing the Ascension Site of the Martial Saint, Some Understandings of Ascension
"Is this your method, kid? It's indeed unique, even faster than the Golden Escape Stream. It's just that it made a bit too much noise. Old Sun just left and you've already destroyed their mountain gate. What a slap in the face!"
Zhang Jingqing kicked the dark pit under her feet and said.
“Master, please don’t wrong me!” Zhang Zhiwei said. “I did not go directly into the mountain, but instead came to the mountain gate, just to save face for Wudang.”
“Then you should at least stay a little further away from the mountain gate. Being so close to the archway, maintaining such a proper distance, is the most embarrassing thing to do,” Zhang Jingqing said.
Zhang Zhiwei: "…………"
Upon careful consideration, he realized that his master's words made a lot of sense. With a thought, he cast the spell Kun Character Earth River Chariot, and the ground rippled like water, filling the dark pit instantly.
Zhang Jingqing glanced at it and saw that the location of the pit had been almost restored to its original state, with every detail exactly the same as the surrounding area. Even he could not see any difference.
This kid's control is incredibly meticulous; he can reproduce even the smallest detail, down to the size of a speck of dust, in an instant.
Control has always been Huaiyi's strength, and it's the only aspect in which he can compete with Zhang Zhiwei. But now it seems that even in this aspect, Huaiyi is no match.
This kid has been traveling around the martial arts world a lot lately. I wonder if he'll come and join in the fun at Old Sun's ascension ceremony.
“Master, now you have nothing to say, right?” Zhang Zhiwei said.
Zhang Jingqing collected her thoughts and nodded, saying:
"No problem, the Wudang people are here, let's go into the mountains."
As soon as Zhang Jingqing finished speaking, several Taoist priests at the foot of the mountain came upon hearing the news. When they saw that the visitors were Zhang Jingqing and Zhang Zhiwei, they were immediately invigorated and hurriedly stepped forward to pay their respects.
The two of them, master and disciple, were well-known throughout the martial arts world.
"No need for formalities, everyone. Please guide my master and me up the mountain," Zhang Jingqing said with a warm smile.
"Celestial Master, Little Celestial Master, this way please!!"
The welcoming Taoist priest quickly stepped aside, allowing Zhang Zhiwei and Zhang Jingqing to stand in the center, and then they went up the mountain together.
On the way up the mountain, to avoid an awkward silence, the welcoming Taoist priest would tell Zhang Jingqing and Zhang Zhiwei about the origins of the scenery along the way and the stories behind them.
Zhang Zhiwei listened expressionlessly; he was all too familiar with this kind of rhetoric.
In the past, he would also receive believers who came to the mountain and tell them various stories and anecdotes, making him much more professional than these few Taoist priests who greeted guests.
Even the rhetoric used by these welcoming Taoist priests was invented by him.
Somehow it got to Wudang and became a popular catchphrase.
Experts listen to laymen. If he weren't so unfamiliar with some of the stories of Wudang, he would have liked to take the lead and tell these Wudang Taoists a story.
As they ascended the mountain, news of the Celestial Master and the Junior Celestial Master's visit spread all the way to the Golden Hall on Tianzhu Peak.
The red-faced old Taoist priest, who was busy with the ascension ceremony of Master Sun, put down what he was doing and flew down to greet him.
Zhang Jingqing's visit was not only to participate in the ascension ceremony, but also to support him as the new leader of Wudang, which he had to take seriously.
The red-faced old Taoist priest flew through the air and soon arrived in front of Zhang Zhiwei and Zhang Jingqing.
The red-faced old Taoist and Zhang Jingqing were of the same generation, and the old Taoist was even much older than Zhang Jingqing. Naturally, the two knew each other, and in fact, the old Taoist had dealt with Zhang Jingqing more often than Master Sun.
The two met without any formality, exchanging pleasantries before the red-faced old Taoist priest looked at Zhang Zhiwei:
"It's been several years since I last saw you, and the young Celestial Master is even more impressive than before. His Qi is so refined that it's completely imperceptible. This old Taoist's cultivation is insufficient, and I couldn't detect it at all!"
"You're too kind, senior," Zhang Zhiwei said with a smile.
“Every word is true.” The red-faced old Taoist smiled and pointed to the mountain ahead, saying, “This way, please.”
He wasn't just being polite when he said that. If he hadn't remembered Zhang Zhiwei's appearance and Zhang Jingqing hadn't been there, he really wouldn't have been sure.
Because Zhang Zhiwei is always in a state of oneness with nature, his own aura merges into the world, and he is indistinguishable from others, so outsiders cannot see through his true nature.
Afterwards, the group walked up the mountain along the trail. With the appearance of the red-faced old Taoist, the welcoming Taoists stopped telling stories, and Zhang Zhiwei completely gave up the idea of teaching the welcoming Taoists how to tell stories.
Throughout the journey, the red-faced old Taoist priest reminisced with Zhang Jingqing.
During the discussion, they also talked about the details of the Wudang sect leader's ascension to immortality, and whether any remains or relics similar to sarira were left behind.
The red-faced Taoist told Zhang Jingqing that Master Sun ascended to heaven in broad daylight, his body vanishing instantly without leaving anything behind.
Zhang Jingqing nodded: "Master Sun left cleanly and decisively, that's just his nature."
“Junior Brother’s personality is just too stubborn,” the red-faced Taoist said. “This time, we will trouble you, Celestial Master, to preside over Junior Brother’s ascension ceremony.”
Zhang Jingqing said, "I have known him for a while, and although we have many irreconcilable conflicts, since it is a request before ascending to immortality, I should agree."
"By the way, senior, where is Zhou Sheng?" Zhang Zhiwei asked, somewhat puzzled. This kid hadn't come to greet him.
The red-faced old Taoist said, "My Wudang disciples are all rehearsing tomorrow's ascension ceremony on Tianzhu Peak. I will take you there now."
"No rush, I want to go and see where Master Sun ascended to heaven first," Zhang Jingqing said.
“That will do,” the red-faced old Taoist said. “The sect leader ascended to heaven in the Prince’s Cave. I will take you there now.”
Upon arriving at Prince Cave, the scene here was exactly the same as what I had seen during the simulation not long ago.
Upon entering the cave, the first thing you see is the statue of the young Zhenwu Emperor enshrined inside.
Zhang Zhiwei bows and offers incense before the statue of Zhenwu the Great.
After offering incense, continue walking in for about ten steps, and you will see a stone chair, but the Wudang sect leader is no longer there.
Zhang Jingqing looked at the stone chair, pondered for a moment, and said, "Indeed, nothing was left behind."
Zhang Zhiwei's gaze fell on the stone chair, a flash of his double pupils passing through his eyes.
Not only was nothing left behind, but there was not even a trace of Master Sun's existence. All cause and effect vanished, as if this person had never existed.
Sure enough, Master Sun had severed all causal ties between himself and the outside world; otherwise, there would have been no need for him to specifically sever the causal relationship between himself and a chair… Zhang Zhiwei thought to himself.
He then fell into deep thought. The lines of cause and effect, the lines of fate, vanished, and even his body disappeared in an instant…
According to various classical records, there are many ways to ascend to heaven.
Some leave behind their physical bodies but ascend to heaven in spirit, like the living Buddhas in Buddhism.
Some disappear entirely, but leave behind some objects, such as those that leave behind relics.
There are even those who ascend to heaven with many others, such as the origin of the saying "when one attains enlightenment, even his chickens and dogs ascend to heaven." Xu Xun, one of the Four Celestial Masters, is an example of this.
There are also those who, after ascending to heaven, disappear from their physical bodies but leave behind some of their belongings; this is called "dissolution by weapons" or "dissolution by staffs."
Some ancient texts categorize these methods into high and low, noble and base.
But in reality, who can say for sure?
You say that leaving the physical body behind while the spirit ascends is a low-level approach, but that's how the Buddha entered Nirvana.
Bodhidharma, the first patriarch of Zen Buddhism, ascended to heaven in the second way, leaving behind relics.
Meanwhile, the Celestial Master Zhang Daoling led his disciples to ascend to heaven in broad daylight, disappearing from this world.
It can be said that each ascension method has its own top players, and those so-called rankings are not accurate.
Zhang Zhiwei believed that the different methods of ascension were not directly related to the level of one's attainment of enlightenment. It was merely an outward manifestation, just like the "hoeing the ground" technique, the "golden light mantra," or the "reverse rebirth threefold."
They are all cultivation methods for life and nature. In terms of life and nature cultivation, they are essentially similar. There is no such thing as using the Reverse Life Triple Refinement to temper life and nature being better than using the Golden Light Mantra or the Earth-Hoeing Technique to temper life and nature.
However, in terms of external manifestations beyond life and death, the Three Reversal of Life Techniques are much stronger than the Golden Light Mantra and the Earth-Hoeing Technique.
People only see the outward appearance, but not the inner substance, so they categorize them as superior or inferior.
In fact, excessively pursuing these things is a poor approach.
Whether by coincidence or deliberate choice, Master Sun's ascension to heaven in broad daylight is the most superior method of ascension recorded in many ancient books.
There is no first place in literature, but there is a second place in martial arts. Given Master Sun's personality, it's hard to say whether it's a coincidence or intentional... I wonder what kind of state and situation Master Sun will be in after his ascension... Zhang Zhiwei thought to himself.
But then, Zhang Zhiwei had a sudden thought and remembered what Master Sun had said when they had a spiritual connection and said goodbye when Master Sun ascended to immortality.
—My life is over, my form is established. Today I break free from the shackles of heaven and earth, and this body will forever be a great Luo boat.
Da Luo...
When he heard those two words, he naturally thought of the Daluo Cave Temple... and Gu Jiting.
Previously, he guessed that the mysterious person who attacked Wang Ye in the plot was Gu Jiting, and that all those mysterious abilities were the power of the Great Luo Insight.
After all, legend has it that when Gu Jiting was being chased by Hu Tu, the leader of the Shuzi Sect, he suddenly disappeared using some kind of trick, and he even drove Hu Tu insane.
This characteristic of sudden disappearance is quite similar to that of the mysterious person who attacked Wang Ye.
Moreover, if the other party harasses Hutu in the same way they harassed Wang Ye, it wouldn't be surprising if they drove Hutu crazy.
But with the existence of the Heavenly Gate of Qi, he already knew that the mysterious person who sometimes dressed up as a scarred face and sometimes as a white-stockinged maid with pigtails to tease Wang Ye was none other than the shameless and unruly monkey Zhou Sheng.
Since the mysterious person is Zhou Sheng, then the ability of the Great Luo Insight needs to be reconsidered.
The "observation" in Da Luo Dong Guan refers to the method of observation, which is self-explanatory.
In Taoism, the "dong" in Daluodongguan means "through" or "connected," symbolizing that practitioners connect with the profound Tao through specific methods.
In terms of cultivation, "cave" refers to a key acupoint in the human body, which is the place where Yin and Yang energies meet.
As for the term "Da Luo," it carries even greater weight in Taoism.
In Taoist tradition, there are thirty-six heavens, the first three of which are the Great Luo Heaven.
Therefore, in Taoism, the term "Great Luo Immortal" is often used to describe the power of immortals, referring to those who stand at the pinnacle of heaven.
Lü Dongxuan, one of the Five Northern Patriarchs of Taoism, once said: "It is like a pearl in the palm of your hand, and like the full moon in the sky. When your cultivation is complete, you will ascend directly to the Great Luo Heaven!"
It can be said that entering the Great Luo Heaven means becoming an immortal and ascending to heaven.
Previously, Zhang Zhiwei felt that the name "Da Luo" should have a more profound meaning.
But now... he feels that Da Luo Tian might just mean what it says in words.
Viewed from the side, it's a range of peaks; viewed from the front, it's a single peak. The view varies depending on distance, height, and angle. You can't see the true face of Mount Lu because you're in the mountain itself. Standing at the highest point in the sky, looking down, you naturally see the clearest view.
The Great Luo Cave Observation, where "cave" means "connection," is actually about using one's own acupoints to communicate with the Great Luo Heaven, and then entering the Great Luo Heaven to observe everything from above.
If that's the case... Zhang Zhiwei came to a conclusion.
In the story, Gu Jiting's disappearance may not have been due to teleportation, nor was it because he entered Hu Tu's mental world and drove him insane.
Gu Qiting may have ascended to heaven in broad daylight just like the Wudang sect leader, except that one ascended through his own connections, while the other entered using extraordinary techniques.
Of course, this Great Luo Heaven is not necessarily a place; it could also be a state or condition.
Is it possible to interfere with the world under such circumstances?
Zhang Zhiwei recalled the incarnation of the True Martial Emperor that appeared in Changbai Mountain.
If a person with normal connections wanted to interfere, they should be able to, but there should be limitations or rules to prevent it.
But it would be very difficult for Gu Qiting.
Because the Great Luo Cave Observation can only see the whole picture of the world, it cannot do anything else.
In the story, during a conversation between him and Zhou Sheng, Gu Qiting said he wanted to see the whole picture. Zhou Sheng laughed at him, saying, "What's the use of seeing it clearly? Everything in this world is inseparable from change, and he wants to control that change."
Change is time; to see the whole picture of the world, one must see time clearly.
Zhang Zhiwei's double pupils now allow him to see some of a person's changes, namely the future, based on the direction of their fate line, and he can also see some past scenes through the fate line.
But he couldn't erase others from the line of fate, past and future.
He can only eliminate it now, physically eliminating it with a big slap.
What about the Great Luo Cave Observation...?
If something can be seen, it can definitely be affected...
Zhang Zhiwei suddenly understood why Hu Tu in the story had gone mad.
His fate was seen through and influenced by others, which is why things turned out this way.
Of course, this effect is not strong.
At least Gu Qiting cannot directly sever Hu Tu's fate line through changes, that is, through time, and make Hu Tu die like those who enter the Qi formation.
In other words, this impact is actually quite limited and not terrible, at least for Zhang Zhiwei.
Because the greater one's own weight, the less it is affected.
Even the Feng Hou Qi Men, which is specifically designed to control changes, cannot suppress those with heavy destiny and strong life cultivation using the Luan Jin Tuo.
Not to mention the Great Luo Cave Observatory, which is only for viewing.
……
Thinking about this, Zhang Zhiwei suddenly had a deeper understanding.
The greater one's own weight, the less likely their fate line will be affected.
The greater one's own influence, the more one can affect the fate of others.
How can I increase the weight?
Zhang Zhiwei recalled the fleeting glimpse he had previously seen of the Buddhist Dharma body and the Taoist lineage.
The Buddha's Dharmakaya is also unique; it is all wisdom and all Buddhist principles.
It is not the only one, but the self-realized Dharmakaya.
The more self-nature Dharmakaya one possesses, the greater the weight and power of the Dharmakaya.
The way to curb this is to control the number of superhumans.
With fewer extraordinary individuals, there are fewer true spiritual bodies. (End of Chapter)
