Special Forces: I Can See the Experience Bar

Chapter 311 Suspicious Behavior

Chapter 311 Suspicious Behavior
Caused trouble? All I did was beat up a black guy with racist tendencies, how did that cause trouble?

Does this person have some kind of background?
Can't you?
Chang Ning couldn't believe that he was so unlucky, having offended someone he shouldn't have as soon as he arrived in America.

Seeing Chang Ning's puzzled expression, the kind old man, considering that they were all of Chinese descent, explained to Chang Ning the identity of the black man lying on the ground who had fallen into a coma.

"Young man, did you see the tattoo on this Black man's right arm?"

Upon hearing the old man's words, Chang Ning realized that the black man he had beaten up must have a gang background.

American gang culture is prevalent, and members of different gangs have distinctive tattoos or markings.

So the black driver he beat up turned out to be a gangster, and apparently a key member of the gang.

The low-level henchmen on the periphery are not allowed to have gang symbols tattooed on their bodies.

Seeing that Chang Ning understood what he meant, the old man advised him to run away before the black man woke up.

Even if Black Ghost's gang is very powerful, finding Chang Ning in New York won't be easy if he wants to run away.

Moreover, the search for people involves entering the territory of other gangs, and how can it be done without paying a price?

It depends on the size of the gang the black driver belongs to and his status within that gang.

Chang Ning speculated that Black Ghost's status was probably not very high.

If he had a certain status, would he be able to come out and drive a taxi as a part-time job?

Of course, the possibility that the gang was poorly managed and had a weak economy cannot be ruled out.

Regardless, Chang Ning plans to follow the advice of the kind-hearted old man and prepare to flee.

After all, he still has a mission to complete, and he wants to avoid any influencing factors if possible.

Seeing that there was no more excitement to be had, the crowd dispersed in twos and threes.

Chang Ning and the unconscious Black driver were left on the side of the road, while the kind old man disappeared into the crowd.

Chang Ning was already more than grateful that the strangers in this foreign land had kindly reminded him of his kindness. He couldn't shamelessly ask a stranger to offend the New York mob with him.

Since she had already offended them, Chang Ning felt she might as well go all the way.

When the time comes, we'll meet force with force and water with earth. Who's afraid of whom!
So what if we cause a huge disturbance in New York?
With this in mind, Chang Ning squatted down next to the black driver without any guilt and began to feel around.

Don't misunderstand, he doesn't have any special fetishes, nor is he psychologically abnormal.

Instead, they were cleaning up the battlefield, taking everything useful with them, including the knife the black man had just used to try and kill him.

Things are different now than in China; we have limited funds and have to save wherever possible.

After searching, Chang Ning found the car keys, wallet, cell phone, and a dagger on the black driver.

To express her gratitude for the unconscious Black driver's generosity, Chang Ning kindly called for an ambulance on his behalf.

I've heard that the cost of an emergency call in the United States is quite high, but these costs are insignificant compared to the cost of a life.

Chang Ning figured that the black man lying on the ground asleep probably wouldn't care about that "small amount of money," especially since their gang would pay for his medical expenses.

Well, probably.

After searching behind him, Chang Ning felt the thickness of his wallet and found it was alright. The last bit of displeasure in his heart disappeared.

The Black driver was simply abandoned on the roadside by Chang Ning. The more arrogant the discrimination was before, the more miserable he is now.

Passersby seemed to completely ignore the bruised and battered Black man.

Chang Ning didn't want to waste her time thinking about what would happen to the Black man; she didn't care whether he lived or died!
He had already called for emergency help; whether or not the person suffered brain death or a concussion depended on the perpetrator's luck. Putting the Black driver incident out of his mind, Chang Ning fiddled with the Black driver's car keys and walked into the small convenience store.

Stepping inside, the convenience store's layout was quite ordinary, unlike the hidden gems depicted in movies.

Although Chang Ning was puzzled, he did not show it on his face.

That intelligence officer wouldn't lie to him about something like this, so there must be some other conditions or clues.

It certainly wouldn't be a code word, because if a code word was needed, the intelligence personnel wouldn't refuse to give it to him.

Chang Ning strolled around the convenience store, and it had to be said that the store sold a wide variety of items, much like a small supermarket in China.

The convenience store clerk was a white guy who looked to be about seventeen or eighteen years old, with short brown hair and a few light freckles on his face.

An Asian man walked into the store, whom he assumed was either an ordinary customer or a ruthless person going to the black market.

What puzzled him was that after the Asian man entered the store, he neither bought anything nor went through the special passage to the black market; he just wandered around the store aimlessly.

Could he be a thief?

The convenience store clerk looked at the suspicious person with a mixture of suspicion and wariness.

He would stop this person immediately if they tried to take something without paying.

It's because his salary is low; if goods are stolen or damaged while he's minding the shop, the boss will deduct his wages.

Chang Ning felt extremely uncomfortable being stared at by the shop assistant as if he were a thief for a long time, but he still pretended to look at a bag of candy covered in English despite the pressure.

Anyone who didn't know better would think he was going to buy the candy in his hand.

The shop assistant's eyes narrowed when he saw Chang Ning's movements; this person was about to make a move!

In the eyes of the shop assistant, Chang Ning's action of picking up the bag of candy was a feint, paving the way for the subsequent theft.

He must stop this thief from damaging the convenience store's property!

Just as the shop assistant was about to yell at the "thief" to stop him, the "thief's" next action forced him to swallow his shout back down.

Chang Ning dropped the bag of candy in her hand and followed a burly man with a thick beard, dressed in workwear and wearing a cowboy hat pulled very low, into the convenience store.

He realized they were customers going to the black market; he thought they were thieves.

The shop assistant thought to herself: This person must have some kind of problem, otherwise why would he be wandering around the store aimlessly, trying to amuse me?
Although he was tricked, the shop assistant wasn't too angry overall, because his wages wouldn't be deducted by the boss.

Moreover, he felt pity for the man who appeared to be a thief.

Most people who come to the black market operate on the dark side of society, and the items sold there are not exactly from clean sources.

Therefore, the shop assistant believed that Chang Ning's previous suspicious behavior must have been due to some kind of trauma that caused her to act somewhat abnormally.

Chang Ning saw the bearded man walk into the private room without even glancing at the shop assistant, indicating that the outer perimeter of this black market didn't seem to be heavily guarded, at least not in terms of passwords or membership systems.

Following the burly man with a thick beard into the cubicle, an elevator came into Changning's view.

There are only three buttons in the elevator: the usual close and open buttons, and a "-1" button.

The black market is obviously located beneath the convenience store.

Is this your first time here?

The bearded man spoke gruffly to Chang Ning.
