Police officer Chen Shu

Chapter 477: Anatomy

Chapter 477: Anatomy
Forensic autopsy room.

Having already tasted the ultimate "disgusting meat" in the steakhouse dismemberment case, Jiang Hai looked at the corpse on the bed without any particular discomfort. He seemed to have become accustomed to it, and his thoughts were racing along with Julie's words.

She even reached out and tapped the corpse, and then carefully touched it a few times before asking, "Sister Julie, why is the corpse so stiff? How are we going to dissect it to determine the cause of death?"

"Because it was burned, all the moisture in the body was burned away, and then the muscles contracted, which is why the body became very hard. It's not a big problem, it just takes some effort."

Julie walked around the dissection table twice, then casually picked up a pair of latex gloves from the table next to her and put them on. Her movements were light and graceful, clearly showing that she didn't consider herself an outsider.

He then casually tossed another one to Jiang Hai, before bending down to support the charred corpse's back and easily lifting it up.

After 70% of the body's water evaporates, the remaining weight is only about 20 kilograms.

For Julie, it was an extremely easy thing.

Has the deceased been identified?

"Confirmed."

"Oh? Then we need the family's consent to perform an autopsy." Julie frowned slightly, somewhat disappointed.

"Hehe. It's alright, we're not that particular. As long as the case is solved, that's all that matters. Just don't make the corpse look too exaggerated."

Julie nodded slightly, agreeing with Tursunjan's opinion, and gestured "seven" to him.

The intern forensic doctor, Tursunjan, was also experienced. He quickly bent down and pulled out a large black box from under the bed. He then picked out a knife handle and a new, plastic-sealed blade from the box. He quickly tore open the packaging and carefully slipped the blade diagonally into the head of the handle with clips.

Finally, the assembled scalpel was carefully placed in Julie's hand.

As soon as Julie shook hands, her demeanor changed dramatically, and her eyes became bright and piercing.

First, a knife was used to cut into several joints of the corpse, loosening the highly taut skin and muscles, and then the corpse was turned upright.

Then, she placed the knife tip firmly against the corpse's throat and made a straight cut. If we disregard the corpse beneath the knife, Julie's movements alone were indeed a sight to behold.

Looking back, after graduating from medical school, she passed the exam to become a forensic pathologist. When she participated in her first autopsy with the police, she showed extraordinary composure, which won the favor of the veteran forensic pathologists on site. Everyone thought that this petite girl was a good candidate for becoming a forensic pathologist.

Calm, rational, and fearless.

In her later work, Julie encountered many murder cases involving mangled remains and even highly decomposed bodies. She was used to things like giants, dismemberment after death, and paper plates, and even her sense of smell remained rock solid.

Her identity as a forensic pathologist is her strongest armor; even the most horrific crime scene is just a picture that hides clues to solving the case.

In Julie's mind, figuring out the connection between the body and the case was what she cared about most.

What do the others matter?

“Judging from the inside of the trachea, there is no soot or carbon dust attached, and there are no signs of burns in the respiratory tract, so it should be cremation after death. If you are not sure, we can cut open the stomach and check inside later. Look at the heart area, the direct cause of death should be here.” Julie held the scalpel and explained from top to bottom along the more obvious marks on the body.

Tursunjan nodded while taking notes diligently. With the first question resolved, Jiang Hai stared at the corpse's throat for a moment, then followed Julie's explanation, looking down the body from top to bottom.

He stopped abruptly at his hips, his body jerked.

Everyone followed Jiang Hai's gaze and were equally shocked.

What kind of psychopath would use so much force repeatedly on this part of the body? Even Chen Shu, Wang Hao, and others who were standing by and had no idea what anatomy was could see how deep the murderer's anger was toward that organ.

After his initial surprise, Chen Shu recalled the documents he had reviewed at the police academy and, upon further reflection, began to form a deduction in his mind.

Almost everyone present was Chen Shu's friend; none of them were local criminal police officers in charge of the case, so he had no reservations and, stroking his chin, offered his deduction:
"Julie, if the direct cause of death is the heart, then these, and these are all acts of venting by the murderer for some psychological reason."

Chen Shu pointed to a sensitive area under the corpse and said confidently, "The murderer definitely had sexual problems and was most likely sexually assaulted, which led to an extreme hatred of that organ."

Tursunjan closed his notebook and raised his hand, indicating, "Officer Chen, based on your analysis, the murderer must be a woman?"

Chen Shu pondered for a moment, then pointed to a row of irregular wounds running from the heart to the groin and shook his head: "No ordinary woman would have the strength to stab like that. It's also impossible that the murderer would stab a few times, rest for a while, and then stab a few more times after the murder. So, judging from the strength and patience, the murderer should be male."

"How could a man be violated?" Tursunjan had barely uttered the words when he seemed to remember something and immediately shut his mouth.

Chen Shu smiled slightly and casually said, "Last year in our district detention center, a man was raped by his cellmate."

"Is that so?" Jiang Hai reluctantly raised his head, somewhat curious.

"Well, the man was sentenced to life imprisonment for drug trafficking, so he was pretty reckless. The one who was raped was a first-time offender, convicted of property crimes, and had never been in jail before. He was young and easily manipulated, so he ended up getting taken down. By the way, the police officer in charge at the time was also sentenced later, apparently for dereliction of duty."

Jiang Hai said, "Oh, it's a little different from what I imagined. Brother Shu, I've seen in the news and movies that criminals who commit rape are looked down upon and beaten in prison, and in serious cases, they may even be raped by others. Is that true?"

Chen Shu shook his head, patiently explaining to Jiang Hai as Zeng Hong had taught him when he first graduated: "I've only heard of this, so I can't comment on it. However, it can be used as a reference in this case to determine the identity of the suspect."

"Of course, the key point to investigate is whether the deceased had violated other men before his death, to see if it could be an act of revenge."

"Officer Chen!" Tursunjan suddenly became excited, reopening his notebook and picking up paper and pen. "You mean the murderer was abused in prison during his childhood or adulthood? That narrows the possibilities considerably."

Chen Shu looked around again to make sure no police officers were present, then shrugged and said casually, "I'm just a local police officer, this is all just my guess, it's not accurate. If you want more details, you'll have to go find your own criminal investigators."

Tursunjan scribbled furiously, then lunged forward again, pleading, "Tell me more! Tell me more!"

Chen Shu stared blankly at Zhu Li, wondering if she had picked the wrong person.

Julie crossed her arms, her eyes full of admiration. She knew that Chen Shu had solved several murder cases in Dongzhou, so his skills were naturally quite good.

boom.

A middle-aged man pushed open the door and threw a thick folder on the table, saying, "After a day of peripheral investigation, we have some information about the case from early morning."
