Police officer Chen Shu

Chapter 411 The Real Police

Chapter 411 The Real Police

The security room is on the second floor.

After crying for a while, Pu Shu calmed down a bit, got up, gave Chen Shu a police salute, and went downstairs.

Chen Chuan couldn't help but pull Pu Shu back. He kept nagging, and at this moment he did resemble a political instructor.

Pu Shu nodded for a while, but still resolutely went downstairs to the dormitory, ready to change his clothes and pack his bags, just waiting for the 8:30 start time to go to the instructor Xie Chi to apply for leaving the team.

Chen Chuan stood by the second-floor window, watching Pu Shu slowly walk back to the dormitory, and said regretfully, "What a great young man, why did he quit?"

Chen Shu lit a cigarette: "I reckon it's because of family reasons."

“Isn’t that obvious? He just got scolded by his mother, and when he came back he told us he was quitting. It’s obvious his family doesn’t want him to continue.” Chen Chuan watched Pu Shu enter the dormitory building before turning back to sit down next to Chen Shu.

He continued to ponder: "I think this kid's situation is similar to mine. Maybe his family feels that he can't achieve anything in our special police force, so they're pressuring him to go back. I think you should also assign him some tasks or give him a performance review to show off and earn some awards. Maybe his parents will be happy and let him come back to continue working."

Chen Shu was both amused and exasperated, tossing the other man a cigarette: "Do you think this is child's play? Judging from their behavior at the door just now, the resignation wasn't something that just came up recently; they've had disagreements for a long time. Pu Shu's mother probably had no choice but to come to the workplace to put pressure on them."

"Hey, anyway, I just don't think it's right. We're all adults, why are we being so petty?" Chen Chuan took the cigarette, casually hung it behind his ear, and got up to walk towards the stairs.

"I'll go check on the book first. Keep your phone on!"

After saying that, he ran downstairs.

Chen Shu took a deep drag on his cigarette, feeling both happy that Chen Chuan, who was originally a carefree guy, could have such a sense of belonging to the commando team and the camaraderie among the members, and somewhat worried about Pu Shu's future.

Because Pu Shu is an auxiliary police officer without a formal position, and his family has businesses waiting for him to inherit, forcing him to stay in the team might not be a good thing.

Bedroom.

"Pu Shu," Chen Chuan said softly as he opened the door.

Pu Shu, who had just changed into his casual clothes, stood by the bed, tidying the bedding as he said, "Brother Chuan, don't try to persuade me anymore. Really, I've thought it through."

Chen Chuan plopped down on Pu Shu's bed, pressed down on the other's hand as he folded the blankets, and advised, "We've come through so many tough times, and the big competition is at the end of the month. We should at least leave something for ourselves to remember. At least when we're old, we can brag to our grandchildren, 'Ahem, back in the day, your grandpa was number one in the special police!'"

Chen Chuan's imitation was quite convincing, but Pu Shu wasn't amused. He just gave a soft "hmm" and whispered, "Brother Chuan, I've thought it through. It's okay, really okay."

As she spoke, her voice grew softer and softer.

At that moment, Yan Song, also a member of the assault team, finished his breakfast and walked in, humming a song.

"Brother Chuan, what brings you here?" Yan Song greeted Chen Chuan as he entered the house, but seeing the other's serious expression, he didn't say anything more.

Turning around and seeing Pu Shu's bloodshot eyes, he immediately realized that something must have happened.

He leaned closer to Pu Shu and asked cautiously, "Brother Shu, what's wrong?"

Yan Song is introverted and was also a police auxiliary officer recruited in the same batch as Pu Shu. Because the two are close in age and both like to play PUBG together, they often hang out together.

Yan Song joined the commando team this time only at Pu Shu's strong request, accompanying Pu Shu to sign up.

Pu Shu felt ashamed when his friend caught him crying. He turned to look out the window without saying a word.

Chen Chuan said, "Pu Shu wants to resign."

"Resign?!" Yan Song was shocked, then looked at Pu Shu, grabbed the other's forearm with both hands, and asked repeatedly, "Brother Shu, why are you resigning? Didn't you say you were going to teach those regular employees a lesson in the competition next month?"

Pu Shu pursed his lips, still turning his head away to look outside without saying a word.

Yan Song continued, "Brother Shu, didn't you say that becoming a policeman has always been your dream? Didn't you always tell me that we should work and study at the same time, and strive to become real policemen as soon as possible? Why did you run away first?"

Pu Shu turned around, trembling, and said, "Dreams always end."

Chen Chuan stood up and placed his hands on Pu Shu's shoulders: "But now we are a team. Do you understand what a team is? Do you still remember our honor? Are you willing to leave us, leave the commando team, the place where your dreams lie?"

Pu Shu raised his hand and gently pushed away Chen Chuan's hands that were on his shoulders, closed his eyes and shook his head: "I'm sorry."

"Sigh!" Chen Chuan sighed, strode to the door and opened it. He had just poked his head out when he suddenly stopped and widened his eyes.

"List"

Standing opposite him, Chen Shu put a finger to his lips, signaling Chen Chuan to be quiet.

"You have the final say!"

Suddenly, Yan Song's loud shouts came from inside the house.

Yan Song is introverted and works quietly. He usually follows Pu Shu silently, a stark contrast to the lively and talkative Pu Shu. However, in private, the two are very good friends.

Chen Shu leaned against the wall outside the door, looking up at the ceiling, somewhat curious about what profound life lessons this honest young man would say.

Because he didn't know how to persuade them.

"I don't care, you can't be a deserter! Because desertion is the most shameful thing!"

"I am not a deserter."

“If you leave, you’ll be a deserter, a deserter for life! When you have a son, I’ll tell him that his father was a deserter! And when you have a grandson, I’ll come and tell him that his grandfather was a deserter!”

"I really can't stay in the SWAT team. I've tried my best, but I can't get over this."

"Deserter! Deserter! Pu Shu is a deserter!"

After Yan Song's hysterical outburst, the room remained quiet for a long while.

Chen Shu nudged Chen Chuan, who was standing at the door.

Chen Chuan understood, turned around and went into the house, stood in front of Pu Shu, and asked, "What difficulties are you facing? Just tell us. You haven't resigned yet, you're still a member of our commando team, we're a collective, so you have to tell us."

Pu Shu put down his burden and said frankly, "My family wants me to go back."

Being a police officer is so tough.

Working overtime and on duty every day, day and night, with no family – this is a stark reality facing everyone.

Chen Chuan swallowed hard. As a veteran police officer with nearly ten years of experience, he couldn't refute Pu Shu's reasoning.

"Coward, you're nothing but a deserter!" Yan Song sneered, his usual taciturn demeanor replaced by sarcasm.

Provoked by this, Pu Shu reflexively said, "Anyone can call me a coward, but not you, Yan Song."

"No, why can't I? Just look at you now, deserter-like!" Yan Song said coldly, arms crossed.

Pu Shu pointed at Yan Song and said, word by word, "Who was it that cried and couldn't finish the five kilometers? And who was it that took off their clothes and shouted that they wanted to resign after being scolded a few times?"

Yan Song let out a long breath and moved half his body aside: "Pu Shu, if you want to leave, then leave. Don't keep nagging here. Anyway, in my heart, you're just a deserter and a coward."

Pu Shu's mood plummeted: "Why?"

"Just because I'm still in the commando unit, just because I'm still wearing a SWAT uniform!"

Pu Shu glanced at the SWAT training uniform that he had neatly folded and stacked on the table.

Chen Chuan stepped forward: "Pu Shu, you need to understand that we are a team, and we can't function without any one of us. Yan Song said that you guys are actively reviewing and preparing for the exam, right? I think that's great. It's not that being a police officer is easy, really. You can pass the exam with just a little effort, and then you'll be a real police officer."

"Real police officers"

"Are they real police officers?"

Pu Shu murmured to himself, and a light slowly appeared in his eyes.

I've been getting blocked a lot lately, and I'm starting to feel numb. Honestly, I really don't understand it.
On a side note, recruiting police officers through social recruitment is much easier than getting into a police academy through the national college entrance examination. According to us police academy students, the optimal solution is to spend four years at a regular university, then join the police force through social recruitment upon graduation.
