Police officer Chen Shu
Chapter 364 Emergencies
Chapter 364 Emergencies
Li Meng, who was guarding the corridor, watched helplessly as Chen Shu and the other members of the special police team slowly surrounded the place where Old A was sitting, according to the established plan.
He was unwilling to accept it.
He was the first to obtain the clues for this case, and he led the team to arrange and implement the initial investigation and handling work.
He was the first to arrive at the scene and the first to discover Old A eating, but why did he have to give up this opportunity when it came to the final arrest?
He somewhat regretted his initial caution. Even in the early stages of the investigation, once they identified Old A as a fugitive wanted for murder with a gun, they could have easily swarmed him. After all, their criminal investigation unit had over a dozen officers; one spit from each of them could have overwhelmed him.
Why did he foolishly report to his superiors and then receive support?
Why did the SWAT team that came to provide support steal his credit?
Aren't the special police always just doing the supporting work?
Why did you just pick the fruit this time?
Unable to contain her agitated heart, Li Meng jumped up and down, trying to calm her emotions a little, though her hands began to tremble slightly.
Staring blankly at Old A with bloodshot eyes.
"Damn it, those SWAT officers got off easy!"
Wen Zhao's complaining voice came from behind, and Li Meng's heart skipped a beat. He clenched his fists, his nails digging into his palms.
"This 'Chen Anquan,' he was the one who stirred up trouble in the last murder case, and now he's the one who jumped out to catch the murderer again. I really can't understand it, does he have some kind of grudge against our Criminal Investigation Division!" Wen Zhao, standing at the back, continued to grumble and bring up all the old grievances.
The reservoir murder case that occurred in Yangyi Street a year ago was a humiliating blow to the entire Criminal Investigation Division in front of the municipal bureau leaders. For some of the criminal police officers who were involved in the case, it is still a bitter pill to swallow.
It’s vivid in my mind.
Li Meng suddenly felt the blood rush from his feet to his head, and all he could see was Chen Shu's swaggering back.
The figure in the back seemed smug, as if showing off.
Their criminal investigation revealed their incompetence and powerlessness.
Li Meng couldn't hold back any longer and said through gritted teeth, "Wen Zhao, Old A is definitely trapped in the corner now. Let's rush over and pin him down!"
He couldn't see anything else, and seemed to have forgotten the original reason why their criminal investigation team asked the special police team for help: Old A had guns and had killed people.
Wen Zhao took a few steps closer and whispered, "Li Da, the SWAT officers have already gone over there. Wouldn't it be too much for us to go over too?"
"Who will write the 'Record of the Arrest'?" Li Meng asked without turning her head, her eyes fixed ahead.
After a criminal suspect is apprehended, the arresting officers will issue a "Record of Arrest" stamped with the bureau's seal. This document will be included in the case file and sent to the court until the case is closed and sealed. It serves as an important basis for future evaluation and awards for the case.
These officers were all veteran detectives with years of experience, so they were intimately familiar with these details. Furthermore, Li Meng was the youngest section-level officer in the branch office; with him in charge, what other thoughts could Wen Zhao and the other officers possibly have besides eagerness to try their luck?
Within seconds, the four detectives had reached a consensus. To catch up with the SWAT team, they followed behind Li Meng and sprinted towards Old A's direction.
It was peak dinner time, and the restaurant was packed with people, with no extra space between them.
As Li Meng and the others ran, the sounds of tables and chairs colliding and the cursing of the crowd immediately rang out.
Hearing the sudden commotion, Old A looked up sharply towards where Li Meng and the others were rushing towards.
Upon looking at him, he was startled to find that four or five burly men were rushing towards where he was sitting.
police!!
run! !
Old A had just gotten up and lifted his foot when he noticed that the young men who had been following the landlady earlier were now all staring at him.
Old A sensed something was wrong, knowing these people were also police officers. He immediately flipped the table to the right, blocking the path of the nearby officers. "The police are here to arrest people! Run!"
In a split second, without thinking, Old A first shouted "The police are here!" to cause chaos at the scene, and then took the opportunity to run to the toilet on the other side.
There was an escape route there that he had scouted out beforehand.
As soon as Old A shouted this, the group of people in the restaurant who were gambling on the spot immediately exploded like oil thrown into a hot pan.
They rushed out like madmen, then scattered and fled like birds and beasts.
The setup of the arrest team previously established inside the restaurant was completely disrupted in an instant as the crowd suddenly scattered and surged forward.
The whole situation suddenly spiraled out of control.
Li Meng and the others, who were in the middle of it, were also squeezed by the crowd and had no room to move. They could only watch helplessly as Old A slipped through the crowd and slid into the toilet next to the corner like an eel.
Chen Shu, who was covered in food and drinks, was caught off guard and had no time to issue orders. All the participants could only push aside the fleeing crowd and do everything they could to rush to the door or the toilet.
Outside the restaurant.
Special police captain Li Da and criminal police captain Ren Guoqing sat in a black sedan parked on the side of the road.
Ren Guoqing stared at the restaurant entrance, waiting for Chen Shu and the others to escort the murderer, Old A, out of the restaurant.
"Ren Da, this is my first time arresting a murderer. Everyone says these kinds of people are extremely vicious and kill without blinking an eye. What did you say earlier that the guy was carrying a gun?"
Li Da spoke evasively, but his tone was somewhat excited, presumably because he was confident that with their deputy captain Chen Shu leading the team, the criminal would be captured easily.
Ren Guoqing, who was over fifty, squinted his eyes. He had been waiting for so long without any movement from inside, and a sense of unease crept into his heart. He casually reprimanded Li Da for his questioning:
“Li Da, you’re over forty years old and a captain. Be more composed. He’s just a murderer. What are you so nervous about? You’re supposed to be a SWAT officer.”
Both were captains, but Ren Guoqing, the captain of the criminal investigation team, was much more powerful than Li Da.
In the Zhengming District Public Security Bureau, the head of the Criminal Investigation Division is a leader in the bureau's leadership team, holding the rank of deputy section chief. The head of the Special Police Division, however, is only a section chief. Forget about being in the leadership team; sometimes, even when the bureau organizes a meeting for all mid-level cadres, the Special Police are not notified to come.
Li Da scratched his head and chuckled awkwardly. He actually wanted to save face in front of Ren Guoqing, after all, Chen Shu was one of their special police officers. Little did he know that in Ren Guoqing's mind, Chen Shu already considered someone from their Criminal Investigation Division.
Therefore, if one person doesn't feel ashamed, the other naturally doesn't feel proud either.
Suddenly, screams came from outside the car.
"Run!"
"The police are here! The police are here!"
"The police are arresting people!"
"."
A large crowd surged out of the restaurant and ran wildly around the road like madmen. The police officers who were originally guarding outside were now craning their necks, but they couldn't find even a trace of Old A inside.
"No, something happened!"
Ren Guoqing and Li Da immediately rushed out of the car and stood on the road, watching the crowds running around helplessly.
