The next day at noon, Lin Chen was getting his lunch at the factory canteen when Leng Ying called.

Lin Chen asked with a smile, "How is the old gentleman now?"

Leng Ying's voice was cheerful and relaxed: "The recovery is going very well. She only needs some rest before she can be discharged. Mr. Lin, do you have time tonight? I'd like to invite you and Mrs. Lin to a simple meal to express my gratitude."

Lin Chen replied with a smile, "Sure, there's meat to eat and wine to drink, I'll definitely have time."

Leng Ying asked, "Can you give me the address? I'll send someone to pick you up."

Lin Chen replied, "Linhai Pharmaceutical Factory No. 6, my wife and I both work here."

Leng Ying asked in surprise, "With medical skills like Mr. Lin's, how come you work in a pharmaceutical factory? Are you involved in drug research and development?"

Lin Chen chuckled and replied, "I don't have that skill; I work as a security guard here."

"security guard?"

Leng Ying was confused by Lin Chen's words. He really wanted to ask Lin Chen, "Are you serious?"

Lin Chen readily explained, "My wife is the president of Pingjiang Chuhe Group. Chuhe Group acquired Pharmaceutical Factory No. 6, which has serious corruption problems and collusion among its employees. So, I'll work as a security guard for a while. Firstly, it'll allow me to slack off openly, and secondly, it'll help me find out what's going on in the factory."

After lunch, Lin Chen returned to the guard booth to continue guarding the gate.

There are two people in the security booth. They just do some entry registration and collect exit slips. It's an easy job, and no one is watching them. They're very comfortable.

"Everyone, take your batons and head to the plaza outside the office building. There's a disturbance."

Lin Chen hung up the phone and, along with his colleague, grabbed their batons and rushed to the scene.

Turning the corner of the building, Lin Chen saw a large, dark crowd, and Chu Jiaxue standing at the front of the crowd. Standing next to Chu Jiaxue were factory manager Jia Delin and three middle-aged men and women, all of whom looked rather unwell.

"Xiao Jiancheng, what are you trying to do?"

Sales Manager Xiao Jiancheng sneered, "As soon as President Chu arrives, he's going to take away the jobs of so many of us. Naturally, we have to reason with President Chu."

Jadelin scoffed, "If we want to reason things out, why don't we discuss it in the office? You're inciting everyone to cause trouble; do you even want to keep your job?"

Xiao Jiancheng sneered, "If I want to do it, I'll have to do it myself. Jia Delin, don't talk like you're not the one suffering. You don't help us old brothers, fine, but instead you turn around and stab us in the back, sending us to hell, while you get away with it all. You've got a really good plan."

Liu Dahai, the head of the equipment department, also said sarcastically, "President Chu, you've only been here for two days, and you've already brought in professional auditors. How long are you planning to audit the accounts? You know, Chuhe Group hadn't even acquired the pharmaceutical factory before. Your audit is a bit too broad."

Logistics Department Manager Sun Chenglin chimed in, "You've come here and are already planning to fire us all? We're all long-serving employees of this company. A commotion arose from the crowd. Judging from the content and tone, the reason these people had banded together to cause trouble was to force Chu Jiaxue to back down and abandon her plan to dismiss them.

Lin Chen chuckled. These people were really bold, actually threatening their boss.

Chu Jiaxue saw Lin Chen walking through the crowd and was immediately filled with courage, no longer feeling the slightest fear. She said coldly, "You have done quite a few things to enrich yourselves and abuse your power for personal gain over the years. If you don't want me to investigate or check the accounts, that's fine too. I have a list here. As long as the people on the list leave on their own, I will not hold your past actions against you."

Xiao Jiancheng shouted, "We're all from the same place. If we have to leave, we'll leave together; if we have to stay, we'll stay together, right?"

"You are not allowed to fire us!"

"If you dare fire me, I'll make sure you can never produce normally again!"
