Chapter 58 Evacuation
Mr. Carlo wasn't annoyed as he watched the child's head slowly grow, his focused gaze fixed on the miniature mecha model. He didn't spare any attention for the child.

There are quite a few promising young talents.

He had just finished his rounds and observed that most people could still hear some things, though only vaguely, and very few could actually piece things together independently. But it was still quite good for those with a basic understanding.

Mr. Caro felt that his recent distress had lessened somewhat.

Hmm? This one does look somewhat similar. He walked over without realizing it.

As I got closer, I was even more surprised to find that he was actually assembling the main body shell. Beginners usually find it difficult to start and tend to assemble the limbs or head first, because the parts there are more distinctive in shape and easier to work with, unlike the main body which requires more dexterity and finesse.

Moreover, she had already finished the installation, only needing to put the two sections together.

Carlo glanced at it briefly. The main body was very well completed, almost identical to the data of the miniature model he had disassembled. The parts fit together perfectly... very good. He looked at the other person with some surprise. Although he was one of the older participants, mecha pilots were judged by their talent, not their age.

The opponent's technique was clearly clumsy, but their feel for the game was quite good, and many of their movements were driven by instinct. They were obviously a novice.

He unconsciously watched from behind for a while, and when he saw that she wanted to install those two small parts first, he subconsciously tried to correct her, but unexpectedly caused her to install them crookedly.

Actually... the angle the other person used might have worked. Beginners who get used to such shortcuts are prone to going astray, and it's easy for them to develop bad habits later on.

He pointed out a few more points, and the other person was able to get the hang of them quite quickly. Now he was genuinely interested and couldn't help but want to ask something, but just then, someone who looked like a staff member walked over in a hurry and made some gestures to him, as if they were in a real rush.

Mr. Carlo was initially confused, but when he saw the other person's gaze, his expression changed instantly, and he hurriedly left without looking at anything else.

Jiang Hui was unaffected. She glanced at Carlo's hurried departure, then looked down at the half-finished mecha model, lost in thought.

She was thinking that if... she hadn't been interrupted, maybe she could have synthesized it too?
She looked at it again and again, but in the end, she didn't take it apart. "Oh well, I'll do it after I'm done," she thought.

Just as Jiang Hui had expected, once the main torso was assembled, assembling the remaining limbs and head became much easier.

Just like assembling a Gundam model, Jiang Hui felt that he had gained some inspiration while assembling the torso, and by analogy, he quickly installed the two legs.

Just as she was about to continue pretending to have the other two hands, someone suddenly banged open the door with a dull thud.

Everyone in the conference room looked toward the source of the sound.

"Tap tap tap—"

The sound of her footsteps was particularly noticeable in the quiet conference hall.

The crowd initially looked on with curiosity, but upon seeing the newcomer, they all seemed startled, and a murmur of discussion immediately filled the large space.

A small squad of uniformed soldiers burst into the conference hall, causing panic among the socialites in the front row who were engrossed in socializing.

The military usually only deals with military matters; their presence couldn't possibly be for some minor security incident. What happened?!

Perhaps sensing the underlying disorder among these celebrities, the leading sergeant, clearly experienced, slammed something onto the podium with a "thud."

Upon seeing what the other party had smashed, those who wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to escape were instantly frozen in place, falling into complete silence.

The children below were still a bit confused. They were curious about this group of "uninvited guests" who had suddenly barged in and seemed out of place with their surroundings.

"Everyone, I'm sorry, your activities may have to be temporarily suspended. Please pack your belongings, be accompanied by your guardians, and leave this place as soon as possible." Although the other party used the word "may," their tone left no room for negotiation and brooked no argument.

Something really happened!
The previously orderly meeting room suddenly became somewhat chaotic.

These fat, idiotic fools are fine as long as they don't do any productive work, since they're born into wealth. But at times like this, they only cause trouble, they're worse than children, it's truly distressing to watch.

"Click—" This sound represents the release of a weapon's safety latch.

Some of them were terrified. They realized that the real danger lay in the squad of soldiers in control of the situation, rather than in the potential unknown risks.

"The older ones, lead the way, don't let the children get lost, and don't linger in this building." The leading sergeant ignored the group behind him and waved for another sergeant to "supervise" their retreat. He wanted to prevent these incompetent fellows from endangering any minors in their panic.

They have now located the rebels and have dispatched troops to surround and block them in the opposite area.

However, large crowds remained in other areas. The army learned that several social events were being held in the eastern part of the group, attracting hundreds of thousands of people who were not yet fully awakened. Therefore, elite teams were dispatched to evacuate the crowds, lest the rebels become desperate and do anything inappropriate.

As for the rest, they should be evacuated in small teams, and the evacuation must be completed within two weeks.

Although most of the participants were still young, they were all interstellar people after all, and they naturally understood what was going on when these soldiers suddenly broke in and then evacuated.

At the elders' urgent calls, the people in the meeting hall quickly sprang into action. Some hurriedly called to their younger companions, some quickly packed their things and found the main group, and some, still not quite understanding the situation, followed the others step by step.

Jiang Hui was naturally among them; she had never seen such a scene before. But she wasn't blind; the soldiers who came in were all carrying high-polymer firearms, with solemn demeanors, and they immediately warned everyone to leave, so it must be something serious.

She suppressed her slight panic, carefully put everything on the table, including the things she had worked hard on all day, into her small backpack, then tossed it all into her spatial storage, and ran towards the door as the crowd dispersed.

If the chaos wasn't apparent in the conference hall, it became clear when she left and found the corridor completely in disarray.

Outside the conference hall, a large number of soldiers were stationed in the corridor. As far as the eye could see, there were large swathes of dark military uniforms, their faces cold and solemn, holding various types of high-tech military equipment. Their silence spoke louder than any words.

This was Jiang Hui's first encounter with the legendary Imperial soldiers, and even though they weren't facing each other directly, she could still feel the tangible pressure emanating from them.
