The Most Powerful Brain in the Interstellar Space
Chapter 55 Theory Lecture
Chapter 55 Theory Lecture (Part 2)
Of course, at this level, the distinction between mech pilots still depends on individual skill. Sometimes, even among advanced and intermediate mech pilots, the skill gap can be significant.
Because some people are able to pass the exam at this level, while others can only pass it at this level; these are different.
In addition, these officially registered mech pilots do not represent the entire mech pilot community in interstellar space, because there are many unregistered mech pilots.
Some didn't want to waste the time, while others weren't keen on participating in such official rankings. They were more interested in researching what interested them and creating the mechs of their dreams that would go down in history.
These masters don't even need mere examinations to prove their skill and level; countless people will come to them seeking custom-made and assembled mechs. The cost for these individuals to manufacture a single custom-made mech is often astronomical.
Why bother joining an organization and taking exams to prove yourself when you can have wealth and status on your own? Wouldn't that be a waste of time?
Of course, these were not within the scope of this lecture. Jiang Hui felt that being able to meet such an intermediate mecha pilot in her daily life and receive instruction from him was a truly wonderful experience, and that her participation in this event was definitely worthwhile.
This mecha pilot's teaching approach differs from the previous one, who focused more on the origins of mecha development. This one, however, recounts the several mechanical revolutions since the birth of mecha, and how each of these events led to breakthroughs in mecha development.
It turns out that the giant combined mechs that Dongbo Group excels at manufacturing are also a product of the latest mech revolution. Since their creation, they have resolved many crises on the interstellar battlefield and have also made breakthrough progress in assault operations.
Besides the giant combined mechs mentioned above, there are various other types of mechs, such as animal-type mechs, battlefield-specific mechs, heavy mechs, auxiliary light mechs, fully armed heavy mechs, conjoined mechs, typical standard mechs, and so on... There are too many to count if they are classified according to different standards.
These diverse classifications left Jiang Hui bewildered. It felt like he could spend a lifetime researching different types of mecha.
The intermediate mecha pilot's lecture was quite long and was the part that the participants in the venue were more interested in; in any case, it was much more engaging than listening to the person in front of them.
Finally, the highlight of this hands-on workshop came: a demonstration by a Level B Mecha Pilot from Wanhe Intermediate Academy. The auxiliary experimental equipment was a simple miniature standard mecha.
Upon arriving here, all the participants perked up and listened attentively to this crucial part of the presentation, as it was their primary purpose for coming.
The teacher meticulously disassembled the miniature mecha, a 1:1 scale replica, from large metal plates on the back to tiny structures at the finger joints. Each piece was carefully and quickly removed without damage, and then neatly stacked on the workbench.
Jiang Hui then understood why the organizers had arranged such a large workbench for everyone, because the workbench was so large that it could barely hold half of the disassembled materials.
The teacher had only disassembled half of the miniature mecha when the workbench was almost overflowing. The other party had to carefully move the previously disassembled materials upwards, reducing the distance between them to accommodate more materials. By moving them forward and sideways, repeatedly reducing the distance, the standard version of the miniature mecha, which seemed very complex to Jiang Hui, was quickly disassembled into these fragmented pieces.
I can hardly believe that the seemingly heavy and bulky miniature mecha, once disassembled, turned out to be such a huge pile of tiny parts. And each one is incredibly intricate, down to the micrometer level. Apparently, this entire simulated miniature mecha has a total of 3792 tiny parts… and this is the simplest, standard model the teacher mentioned. Wouldn't the more complex ones be hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of times more complex?
Although Jiang Hui was genuinely interested in this kind of thing and became more and more excited as she listened, she was also intimidated by the extremely complex craftsmanship and inexplicably felt a little hesitant.
But she's just going to get a feel for it. Anyway, she's heard that the school's combat individual soldier department will be taking mecha classes, and she might even have to operate a mecha herself. Getting a little understanding now shouldn't be a bad thing, right?
Jiang Hui tried hard to convince herself, and then continued to listen attentively, silently trying to remember every word the teacher said and those intricate parts.
Perhaps even Jiang Hui herself didn't realize at this moment that she held an incredibly high regard for mecha manufacturing, like a person thirsting for knowledge staring intently at every piece of knowledge that could help her grow, not wanting to miss a single one.
This lesson was quite long, but neither Jiang Hui nor the other participants felt it was. Everyone was earnestly and painstakingly trying to take notes of what the other was saying.
This is also a rare opportunity for them to get in touch with mechs, because even if it's just researching miniature mechs, it's something that ordinary people rarely have access to.
Even the most attentive students have time limits. With limited activity time, most of the remaining time should be devoted to the children's hands-on assembly of their own mechs; otherwise, wouldn't this activity be completely off-topic?
After the teacher finished his lecture, almost all the contestants present couldn't help but sigh in disappointment, wanting him to stay and talk a little longer. However, he politely declined, smiling and saying that everyone was welcome to study at Wanhe Intermediate Academy, and that perhaps they would meet him again by chance.
In the end, the other party was very considerate and did not remove the page showing the disassembled parts. Instead, they left it there so that everyone could refer to the assembly order of the parts when assembling the handmade mecha.
After experiencing the lessons from the three teachers, the participants were inevitably quite excited. After all, they were young people, and even the most obedient and sensible could not suppress their emotions all the time.
Many of the people in the neighborhood began discussing the knowledge the teachers had just imparted. Some complained that the teachers spoke too fast and they didn't understand anything, while others happily told their companions that they seemed to be able to keep up with what the teachers were saying, and still others shouted that they wanted to assemble their mechs right now. For a moment, the entire conference hall was buzzing with noise, with all sorts of things being said.
Not to mention them, even Jiang Hui felt a surge of excitement after such a highly beneficial lecture. This was the first time she had encountered something so professional since arriving in interstellar space, especially something about a revolutionary weapon like mechs.
Jiang Hui felt as if she were touching something distant and incredible, and at the same time, thoughts were flowing out from the depths of her soul, echoing each other.
She wanted to... give it a try.
