The Most Powerful Brain in the Interstellar Space
Chapter 178 Sudden Turn
Chapter 178 Sudden Turn
"By the way, I'd like to know what kind of talent or superpower this is. It seems like so many people have it." I'm definitely the only one who doesn't... Jiang Hui was puzzled as she received the voice transmitted through mental energy once again.
The other person seemed somewhat surprised upon hearing this: 'Jiang, did you encounter a different commander?'
Commander, the commander from the command department? Could this be something exclusive to the commander? Please forgive Jiang Hui's limited knowledge; even in the original owner's meager memories from her youth, there was no such knowledge, so she really didn't know anything about it.
Of course, this is also the norm for most ordinary people in interstellar space; they often have a somewhat one-sided understanding of areas far removed from their own lives and unfamiliar to them. They are grateful for and admire the military commanders who protect their star systems, but their understanding of them is not so clear.
Perhaps they know that the military has mech soldiers, combined armored soldiers, mech divisions, commanders, starship officers, and many more... but they are not very clear about these professions and functions. Even the original owner, whose parents were both in the military, didn't know much about this, whether it was because he lacked this memory during the fusion or because he really didn't know.
But Zhou Xiuwen… Commander… that guy seems to have mentioned he was in the logistics department. That major seems so far removed from command; it doesn't seem like they'd be connected at all.
Unable to figure out the details, and with the other party acting as if it were perfectly reasonable, Jiang Hui's doubts were somewhat resolved, but her unease remained. However, now was not the time to discuss this, so she suppressed them again.
The two briefly discussed what they had gained from wandering around for so long. There wasn't much to discuss, really; if they had gained anything, they wouldn't have stopped to discuss it in this unsafe place where accidents could happen at any moment. They simply had no other choice.
This place is like a maze, how are they supposed to find their way? Even if it really is a maze, there has to be an exit; they can't just wander around in circles. So, did they get the direction wrong, or did they miss some detail...?
After robbing several unfriendly passersby, the two had to stop and look for clues, otherwise they might never get out of this dead end by wandering around like headless flies.
Whoever came here to explore the maze has never forgotten that they came in to resupply and recharge. Now that they haven't accomplished anything, how can they be satisfied?
They'd searched for ages, feeling every inch of ground, but still couldn't find a breakthrough. What could they do? Could they possibly look to the heavens...? Well, they hadn't actually looked up there. Jiang Hui couldn't help but look up into the pitch blackness.
"Someone!"
Suddenly, someone next to her yanked her and pulled her to a corner against the wall.
The next moment, Jiang Hui also felt the sound of light footsteps coming from the northeast. A strong aura faintly touched the edge of her mental energy field. She didn't have time to ask what was going on and subconsciously adjusted her angle and concealed herself with Huan Xian.
"Damn it, what kind of supply point is this? There's nothing here, and we can't replenish our energy. We've been walking around like we're in a maze for ages. Are they messing with us or what?" came the angry voice. The angry person's voice was also very distinctive.
"Stop complaining. Time is running out, and the organizers won't let us linger at the supply point for too long. If we can't find the actual location of the supplies soon, we might not get them at all." This person was noticeably calmer, but their tone was still somewhat unpleasant, clearly troubled by the current stalemate.
"You make it sound so easy. We'll have to find it first, and we've been looking all along. But look around, we've practically blasted through the walls to see what we've done."
“I haven’t tried this before, but it might actually be possible. Why don’t we give it a try?” The obviously irritable young man suddenly became interested and said with great enthusiasm.
"Then you try it out on me, using these laser guns, marking guns, and game props. If you can really blast through this wall, I don't think you need to compete anymore. Since you're already this good, the school might as well just hire you to design the competition." The other person sneered, clearly disdainful of his far-fetched idea.
"Am I kidding? So you see, we can't dig through the ground or level the walls, and we can't get out of this passage right now. Where are we supposed to find a way out? As for supplies... I think it would be faster if we all just fought over each other. If you ask me, this might be the supply method the school came up with."
"Alright, alright, stop shouting. Are you trying to attract everyone around here?" Another voice rang out, with a soothing tone, and the two immediately fell silent. —This was a group of at least three people.
Judging from their words, they were also looking for a way out, but clearly hadn't found one.
Jiang Hui and the others could only see so much from their angle, and the sounds were muffled and intermittent.
The two exchanged a glance, and Huan Xian made a "three" gesture to Jiang Hui. The two understood and decided to move aside.
Although they couldn't see the people, they could tell from the sound of their footsteps that the people were walking with measured steps and a stable stance, clearly indicating that they had some skill and were more experienced than the girls.
And although they spoke loudly, as if afraid that others wouldn't hear them, the range of their mental energy was not small, and their vigilance was at its highest, clearly indicating that they were not to be trifled with.
There are only two of them, and their skills aren't exactly top-notch, so it's best not to risk going up to them. We can always find more resources later.
Both of them were very self-aware and made a quick decision, but things didn't go as planned in the end.
Just as they were carefully concealing themselves along the wall and about to turn around and escape, the group suddenly changed course.
"Let's take that path instead. It feels like we've been here before."
Jiang Hui immediately realized something was wrong, but it was too late to change lanes.
Although she and Huan Xian instinctively withdrew their outward-expanding spiritual power, both of them were awakened individuals with high-level spiritual power, and their awareness of the surrounding environment was extremely acute. How could they simply withdraw or release it at will?
The other party immediately noticed the unusual situation at the corner ahead.
They were discovered.
"Someone is hiding there."
Well, if we don't run now, when will we? Or are we just going to stay here and give away resources?
As if they had made a pact, Jiang Hui and Heng Xian didn't care about anything else and just took off running.
"They're over there, hurry and chase them!" "I see them, there are only two of them." "They can't have gone far..."
Yes, they didn't get very far.
