Chapter 140 First Day of Training
Jiang Hui had already noticed her unusual behavior.

Since the last training exercise... no, it should be said that since she arrived in the interstellar world, she felt that some indescribable changes had occurred in her.

Of course, it wasn't the kind of change that involved switching bodies, because switching bodies also meant switching senses. Or perhaps, after a long period of interstellar wandering, she had already lost her previous senses. She adapted quite well to this body and didn't feel any discomfort whatsoever.

But she felt that something had changed about her inner essence.

My eyesight is better, my hearing is better, and even my sense of smell and taste have improved... This can be understood as an upgrade along with the interstellar humans. But what about that kind of intuition that's so accurate it's almost eerie?

Once or twice, Jiang Hui would think it was just her imagination or a coincidence, but after it happened many times, or in unexpected places, she even began to doubt whether something strange had happened to her that she was unaware of.

Sometimes, her eyesight is sharper than a ruler, and her positioning is more accurate than a sight. A series of cold data inexplicably float into her mind. These data do not even need to be interpreted. They seem to fall into her heart and be imprinted on her soul and mind. Only she can understand them. Only she can read them.

But is this really an ability that humans can possess? Even though Jiang Hui doesn't know much about the current interstellar world, and doesn't know the extent of the genetic mutations of interstellar people, she knows that this is definitely not an ability that a human being with flesh and blood could develop, at least not through natural evolution.

As for where it came from, there's no need to think about it anymore; only the mental space that suddenly appeared deep in her mind can explain it.

But deep down, Jiang Hui didn't like this ability at first, because it wasn't a characteristic that living people had, and it even made her feel that the core of her human body might no longer be human.

But why does she feel that way?

How can she not be human? She can laugh, she has emotions and desires, she can think, she is as emotional and vulnerable as all humans, the world in her eyes is colorful, everything is blurry but has a unique clarity.

How could someone like her not be human? He often found himself unable to suppress his suspicions and pondered the question repeatedly.

As time went on, she grew tired of this meaningless affair and suppressed the matter, beginning to live her life seriously. Even though such doubts and strange feelings constantly accompanied her, occasionally surfacing to brush against her heart, leaving her no way to avoid them.

As time went on, Jiang Hui gradually figured out the pattern of these sudden intuitions. She even had a vague feeling that she could actually control and even use them, but she just hadn't thought of using them actively.

Today, when she first picked up the laser gun and pointed it forward, an extremely strong desire suddenly arose in her heart.

Then everything happened in an instant. Before Jiang Hui could even react, his hand had already pulled the trigger, and the bullet shot out.

A moment of silence enveloped her, and Jiang Hui felt the world was unusually quiet. Her mind was blank, devoid of any thought.

"Hmm?" Nierqi, who was watching from the side as usual, let out a soft question and turned to look at the other side.

Jiang Hui was sitting on the left, second to last, staring blankly at the laser gun she had just operated, as if she couldn't believe what she had just done.

Nie Erqi approached the net for the first time, bending slightly to examine one of the nodes. It was covered in some kind of red dye, spreading outwards from the center of the node, forming a small stain that stood out starkly against the specially made, silvery net. The other person seemed somewhat satisfied, glancing subtly at someone still in a daze, and said, "Very good, finally someone presentable. Go down, next row, keep up the good work."

Then Jiang Hui and her row were quickly pushed out of the row behind them and moved to the back.

After she awkwardly came to her senses, she heard her classmate next to her exclaim in a low voice, "Jiang, you hit it on your first try! How did you do something so difficult?"

Jiang Hui still couldn't believe that she had made that sound. Faced with the excited and somewhat longing looks from her classmates, she didn't know how to answer, and could only explain quietly that she was just lucky.

Fortunately, everyone knew they were in training and didn't dare to chat freely, otherwise she would probably be surrounded by a group of people by now.

Okay, she's really not that good; she just hit a node. The truly cool thing is being able to take down a star beast with a single shot from a real gun.

Thinking this, Jiang Hui unconsciously twirled the laser gun slung over his shoulder, seemingly already fantasizing about what a real firearm would feel like. He probably never imagined that his earlier stubborn statement that he wouldn't consider individual combat training would undergo such a fundamental change in just one month.

However, the person involved did not notice this change and continued to sink deeper and deeper into this state of entrapment.

What followed was a rather tedious wait, since this was a rotation training session and their turn in the row was naturally limited.

After Jiang Hui hit the target, three or four more people followed suit and hit the knot. However, Instructor Nie Erqi didn't seem to praise everyone. Some he would just glance at, while others would offer a rare compliment, like he had for Jiang Hui's hit.

The shooting training began in this uneventful setting. For the entire afternoon, everyone was locked in a grueling struggle with the positioning net, which wasn't small, but also not particularly large.

Unfortunately, the results seemed less than satisfactory. With so many people and so many rounds of shooting at such a small net, they spent an entire afternoon and barely hit the target. Forget about filling the entire net with pigment; by the end of the training, they hadn't even covered a tenth of the expanded area.

However, very few people are able to hit the node.

Aside from two initial, miraculously successful shots, Jiang Hui failed several times before finally finding his rhythm and beginning to hit the target intermittently again.

Although he was much better than many of the students in the class who never passed even once, he seemed somewhat dim and unremarkable compared to some true geniuses.

Clarence was probably the only one among them. Although he missed the first two rounds, he seemed to find his rhythm afterward and hit the target almost every time, with a failure rate of about one in ten, which was much better than Jiang Hui's performance.

Therefore, this already extremely popular student once again ascended to the "god-like position" in everyone's hearts.
