Chapter 132 Why

Seeing that no one believed him, Stark asked the principal for a projector and connected it to the interceptor through the control unit in the principal's office. He probably entered something like an operation code, and the projector actually showed a strange page.

The area above was completely dark and empty, but upon closer inspection, one could see countless tiny points of light, arranged neatly in rows and columns.

Stark did something, and the screen gradually changed. The originally neatly arranged dots of light lit up unevenly, some forming lines, others undulating and rotating. Then, right before everyone's eyes, they gradually formed a three-dimensional image, changing from colorless to colored, and then revealing a bit of luster.

Despite the pitch-black environment, they could still see the two people fighting fiercely in the darkness through this special instrument.

Intermittent sounds came from the screen, the girl's voice gradually becoming louder: "You coward, do you dare to fight me head-on? You enjoyed ambushing me, didn't you? I'll make you enjoy it, I'm going to—"

Whether it was Stark adjusting the volume or her own voice being loud, Jiang Hui's voice seemed to instantly fill the entire room.

Hiss... that sounds pretty brutal.

Did she actually say that? She couldn't quite recall. Jiang Hui thought about it carefully; she seemed to be in a rather chaotic and anxious state at the time, and it was inevitable that she would lose control of her emotions. Because those words really didn't sound like her usual style.

Jiang Hui felt everyone's gaze sweep over her, even Stark, who was adjusting the interceptor above, glanced at her casually, and she immediately felt a little ashamed. Although she didn't know what was so shameful about it.

But this has already revealed half the truth. There's no need to even distinguish who is right and who is wrong.

Ignoring the unusually tense atmosphere, Stark continued to rewind, trying to reconstruct the whole incident.

This is not an ordinary item; it has a specific purpose and cannot be used like a surveillance camera or video recorder, where the start and end times can be adjusted at will. In fact, it only senses and analyzes the environment, and it won't generate that portion of the projected data unless manually reconstructed.

This thing has never been used once in the past seven years, nor has it generated any data. I never expected it to come in handy under these circumstances.

The whole thing wasn't complicated, and it happened in a very short time, but if we go back about twenty minutes, it had already unfolded before everyone's eyes.

It's obvious that Jiang Hui was the victim from beginning to end.

As she ran her lap and picked up her hat, Karl, who had been lying in wait for over ten minutes, ambushed the unsuspecting Jiang Hui. He underestimated Jiang Hui's aggression and was instead severely injured by her, whose mental energy had spiraled out of control.

With the evidence right before their eyes, the Karl father and son were speechless; no amount of further words would change anything.

"You unfilial son! What are you doing? You actually beat up your classmate..." Mr. Carl gritted his teeth and slammed his head down hard. The blow was merciless, making the boy's head, which was already dazed from the injury, almost fall over.

“How have I always taught you to get along with your classmates? You promised me. If your mother were still alive, how heartbroken she would be to see you like this.” After saying this, Mr. Carl said emotionally, “Teachers and Principal, I am truly sorry. My child lost his mother at a young age, and his mental state has been unstable because his mother’s death greatly traumatized him. Since then, he has become disobedient, easily agitated, and often does things he cannot control.”

"But he really didn't mean any harm. It's my fault for not teaching him well. Please forgive me..."

"It's your fault for not teaching him properly. I don't think you've grasped the essence of this matter yet—"

"Regardless of whether your child suffered trauma in childhood or is emotionally agitated, this is absolutely not the reason for him to attack an innocent classmate. And do you really feel sorry for us? I believe the victim has more right to accept this apology." Stark shut down the interceptor, handed it back to Jiang Hui, and said coldly.

The other person blushed slightly at what was said and immediately began to roughly pull on their child, trying to apologize to Jiang Hui.

Watching the man she had beaten, his face bruised and swollen, being forced to bow deeply by his father, Jiang Hui felt no emotion whatsoever. She was merely exhausted, her body aching, but filled with even more confusion—

"So now I can ask, right?" Jiang Hui couldn't help but say, "Hey classmate, what did I do to offend you? You don't study properly, you don't train properly in military training, and you just randomly pick on me and beat me up. I don't even know you."

“Jiang Hui is certainly a busy person. She’s been enrolled for so long and hasn’t even recognized her classmates,” Karl said, almost through gritted teeth.

From this move, Jiang Hui realized that this student named Karl was her classmate. She remembered that there was someone in her class named Brancal, but she wasn't very familiar with him and hadn't spoken to him much. This made her even more confused.

As if sensing Jiang Hui's doubts, and something had struck a nerve, Karl became even angrier, abruptly pulling his father's hand away: "Of course, children of the powerful like you look down on commoners like me. You enjoy the best resources every day, can choose any school and major you want, and even your teachers give you special treatment. How could you possibly understand the struggles of ordinary people like us who have to climb so hard to obtain even a little bit of resources?"

"You were wondering why I hit you, weren't you? There's no reason, I just don't like you. You're a complete nepotism case, with lenient training standards and extra tutoring. You even tried to cover up your mental strength test, probably because you know your abilities aren't up to par. Does someone like that deserve to be in the same major and class as me? Look around, who in this class likes you?"

Jiang Hui: ...Aside from military dependents, which of the others does she qualify for? She has trained diligently, and besides, no one has yet met Stark's standards. Everyone gets dizzy while running. She may be bad, but she's definitely not one of the worst.

After unleashing a torrent of abuse on Jiang Hui, the other person, seemingly no longer afraid of Stark's approaching homeroom teacher, roared with a ferocious expression, "You dare call yourself our homeroom teacher? All you do is pamper these privileged kids, while you're ruthless with us ordinary folks. Your so-called strictness seems to apply only to people. Just because they were born into a privileged family with good parents? Why should they?"

Stark, who was being verbally abused by the student, didn't even flinch. He stared expressionlessly at the boy, whose face was now so contorted that he was unrecognizable, and suddenly sneered: "Why... I don't know why others are right. But Jiang Hui is right because she has good parents."

For decades, her parents tirelessly worked for the safety of the Empire's borders, even sacrificing their lives in the end. For her parents single-handedly held back tens of thousands of Star Beasts at the HD1 defense line... For her father saving Stark's life.

PS: This young Carl is just jealous, like someone who resents the rich. He's just feeling unbalanced because Stark treats Jiang Hui slightly differently, and he thinks she's receiving special treatment. Actually, aside from the military martyrs' family quota for enrollment, Jiang Hui didn't slack off during training, and Stark certainly didn't go easy on her either, even training her more rigorously… hahaha, so it's true he gave Jiang Hui extra lessons. However, I think given their relationship, extra lessons are forgivable; after all, teachers have students they favor. And Stark teaches all students just as diligently; it's just that young Carl is a little crazy.
