Chapter 528 The Zhangs
Meeting the laser-like, resentful gazes of Fatty and Xie, Zhang Wuxun felt a rare, long-lost sense of guilt.

He quickly coughed twice to change the subject, "Look what I found! There's a factory for the King of Hell hidden here."

"The King of Hell's Factory? That thing even does wholesale?" The fat man shone the beam of light on the bottom of the pool and was immediately startled. "Holy crap, there really is one... and more than one."

Around the kiln, piles of those blackened stone head blanks, resembling the image of the King of Hell, lay scattered about, their dark color emanating from the corners, giving off an extremely ominous feeling.

The fat man suddenly felt a cold wind blowing behind him. He immediately shone his flashlight around and said warily, "Those things down there look like heads. There are so many. Could there really be more than one fully formed Yama riding a corpse?"

"Where did they hide? Have we stumbled into the lair of the King of Hell?"

The fat man glanced around, finally fixing his gaze on Zhang Wuxun and the statue he was sitting on. His eyes widened and he even held his breath.

Wu Xie stared intently at the statue, his voice strained, "Wooden fish... the one you're sitting on..."

Zhang Wuxun chuckled and patted the statue's head. "It's fake. This is made entirely of stone. Even if you wanted it to move, it wouldn't."

Wu Xie and his companion breathed a sigh of relief. "What's going on down there? Did you activate any mechanisms when there was that sudden rumbling sound?"

Zhang Wuxun had already jumped off Yama's body, walked to the stone blanks, squatted down, and touched the stone head with his hand. "These should all be unfinished products discarded during the creation of the fighting corpse. In the end, there was probably only one that was successful."

After saying that, he briefly described what had just happened, "The walls around this stone chamber are full of mechanisms. I don't know what the trigger mechanism for the white sand backflow is. Let's hurry up."

"Oh right," Zhang Wuxun suddenly remembered something, "Where's Zhang Haixing? Did you leave her outside?"

Wu Xie shook his head and looked back at the passageway they had come from.

Zhang Wuxun's heart skipped a beat, and a strong thought surfaced in his mind—the Zhang family has arrived!

A face that was all too familiar peeked out from the darkness, smiling gently at the group, "Long time no see."

Then he looked at Zhang Wuxun with a somewhat intriguing expression, seemingly aloof, yet hiding a deeper probing in his eyes.

“You should have arrived by now.” Zhang Wuxun noticed his doubts but didn’t offer any explanation.

Firstly, the occasion was inappropriate; secondly, the timing was unfortunate; and thirdly, he himself only had a superficial understanding of those things.

If some things were to be understood as clearly as solving a problem, certain factors would become obstacles.

"It seems your part of the plan went quite well," Zhang Wuxun said.

Zhang Haike's face regained that confident smile, and he nodded. "It's all taken care of. After the Khampa people arrived, we all withdrew. We'll leave the cleanup to them."

He paused for a moment, then continued, "However, after seeing her, we recalculated the success rate of the branch of the plan you proposed."

Zhang Wuxun raised an eyebrow. "How much?"

Zhang Haike pointed to a number.

Zhang Wuxun frowned slightly. "That's all?"

Zhang Haike looked at him speechlessly, "It's already quite high, okay? That branch was completely outside our plan. In short, the main storyline definitely won't be there, and we won't take any risks rashly."

Zhang Wuxun sneered, "Your plan? How long will your plan take? Ten years? Twenty years? I don't have that much time to waste waiting." Zhang Haike stared at him, speechless for a moment, before frowning thoughtfully and saying, "So you plan to bring the plan forward? Why? This goes against our long-standing plan. You must give me your reasons for this decision."

"What if part of it has already come out?"

Zhang Wuxun's words caused Zhang Haike's expression to change drastically.

"This is impossible!"

Zhang Haike vehemently denied it, saying urgently, "That's impossible. The gatekeeper entered the snow mountain a year ago. Unless something happens to him, we have at least ten years to prepare."

“What’s impossible?” Zhang Wuxun said expressionlessly. “Why do you think the Wang family’s spies have been so active in recent years, sometimes even risking exposing themselves?”

“And even if it takes ten years, the Khampa people can’t wait that long, and I don’t want to wait either.” Zhang Wuxun’s face was somewhat gloomy.

Wu Xie and Fatty looked at each other, not understanding how the two of them had started arguing. But when the words "gatekeeper" entered their ears, they both froze.

The gatekeeper? Isn't that the young man?

The fat man frowned and lowered his voice, saying, "What exactly are they planning to do? I don't understand their plans at all. Didn't they say it was just about getting a big bell? Why does it seem like it has something to do with the young man?"

Fatty also knew that Wu Xie had chased after Xiao Ge to Changbai Mountain, and he always felt that there was a huge secret hidden in the conversation between the two.

There's no time left.

That incantation seemed to echo in my ears once again.

Zhang Haike remained silent for a long time, gazing at the dark, imposing statue of Yama. "So, it was within your expectations that Zhang Haixing's identity would be exposed at a crucial moment. In fact, it could be said that you orchestrated it yourself. You had already anticipated all her reactions."

"What if the Wang family doesn't send her brother to ambush you? Wouldn't the woman you prepared who looks exactly like her be useless?"

Zhang Haike needs to know more details in order to more accurately judge the feasibility of the branch plan.

Zhang Wuxun glanced at him and smiled, "If there's no opportunity, then create one. Everyone has a weakness, right?"

“Now I understand what you meant when you gave me the urn.” Zhang Haike clapped his hands in a mock manner. “Bone can bloom into flowers, indeed. If you can create one, you can create a second, and after summarizing the experience, you can make her look even more perfect.”

"But what I find incredible is that you hadn't met Zhang Haixing before the second one was created, had you?" Zhang Haike inquired about the reason.

Zhang Wuxun's smile faded slightly. "No comment."

Zhang Haike's eyes flickered, and he clicked his tongue inwardly. To some extent, avoidance is more certain of something than denial.

A member of the Zhang family, a member of the Zhang family who had not left any trace of their existence in the world for more than twenty years, appeared out of thin air.

So, who exactly is he?
If he is Zhang Haisi, then what caused him to disappear for so many years, and what makes it seem like his memories have been replaced?

Is it "it"?
