Chapter 258 Throne of Hell
We walked deeper for four or five hundred meters until we reached the boundary between the meteorite and the stone pillar.

The scene here makes you wonder if you've walked into hell.

Countless stone pillars hang down from the cave ceiling, resembling a waterfall composed of a large expanse of strange rocks. Their shapes are ferocious, terrifying, and ugly, more like tentacles of monsters from hell, as if they could come to life at any moment, grab people, and tear them to pieces without mercy.

Directly below it, on a very wide, irregularly shaped stone slope formed by high-temperature melting, a long stone staircase has been built by human hands, covered with cracks and very crude.

On either side of the stone steps are rows of bronze lamp posts, the top of which has been built into a platform for worship. The platform is very high, almost touching the meteorite overhead.

The group carefully climbed the steps and discovered that in the very center of the altar stood a large, magnificent black throne that was integrated with the one below.

There was a large, dark figure vaguely visible on the throne. Before anyone could see it clearly, Zhang Wuxun, who was walking at the very back, suddenly felt the rope he was holding loosen, and then a cold glint flashed towards his neck.

Zhang Wuxun reacted quickly, dodging to the side and striking the wrist holding the dagger with his palm. The dagger fell to the ground with a clatter.

The attacker grunted, ducked, and with a knee strike, knocked the miner's lamp out of Zhang Wuxun's hand, plunging the small area into darkness.

Zhang Wuxun almost burst out laughing. He could only say that this guy had really thought he was being clever this time.

A gust of wind lashed towards his head. Zhang Wuxun took a half step back, bent his elbow to block, and at the same time punched the man in the chest. The man reacted quickly and immediately twisted his body to try to avoid it.

Unexpectedly, Zhang Wuxun only feinted with a punch. The next moment, he turned his fist into a palm and slashed diagonally upwards at the man's throat with lightning speed. At the same time, he raised his leg and swept it horizontally towards the man's kneecap, without holding back any force.

Thump—The dark figure in front of him collapsed to the ground, clutching his throat, breathing heavily.

All of this happened in the blink of an eye. Wu Xiaoxie and the others heard the commotion and ran back, only to find that Zhang Wuxun had already finished the battle.

"What's going on? What happened to him?" Wu Xiaoxie asked, shining a light on the face of the guy lying on the ground.

The man on the ground clutched his throat with both hands, his eyes bulging, his face contorted in agony, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. He was gasping for breath, and one leg was bent backward in an unnatural position, dangling limply to one side.

"He ambushed me, trying to kill me. I was a little angry, so I lightly retaliated. Who knew he was so weak?" Zhang Wuxun shrugged, looking innocent.

Black Bear grinned as he picked up the dagger that had fallen to the ground, then stood casually to the side with his hands behind his back, smiling but saying nothing.

Zhang Wuxun strongly suspected that this guy knew this guy was problematic and deliberately dumped him on him.

Chen Wenjin also walked over, glanced at the person on the ground, and said coldly, "I didn't expect him to be so impatient, but it's fine this way."

She didn't elaborate on what was good about it. Everyone else present knew the answer, but Wu Xiaoxie was still completely clueless.

The fat man sensed something from Zhang Wuxun and the others' nonchalant attitude. His gaze swept across their faces, and he clicked his tongue softly.

After glancing at the man on the ground who was almost dead, the fat man dragged Wu Xiaoxie up the steps. "Let's go, let's go. Anyway, he wasn't a good person. We've done a service to the people."

"Hey... wait, that person seems to still be alive, so we're just going to leave them like this?" Wu Xiaoxie was still turning his head to look this way even after walking a distance away.

Zhang Wuxun gave him a big smile, telling him not to worry about it. The young man was silent for two seconds, then suddenly reached out and pulled open the guy's clothes. Zhang Wuxun readily handed him a lighter, and then he and Hei Xiazi tacitly blocked Wu Xiaoxie's view.

Chen Wenjin also stepped in to help. After checking the front, he turned the man on the ground over, and finally found a palm-sized dark red tattoo in the middle of his lower back.

Zhang Wuxun put his hands behind his back, took out a camera from his spatial storage, and quickly snapped two photos while they were still fresh in his mind.

Black Bear leaned close to Zhang Wuxun's ear, lowered his voice, and asked with some curiosity, "Who is this person? Do you know him?"

Zhang Wuxun pushed his head away and whispered, "You'll know later. Curiosity now will only bring you trouble."

It seems that during the Sand Sea incident, Hei Xiazi was Wu Xiaoxie's master and was tricked into the plan. After all, under those circumstances, there were very few people Wu Xiaoxie could trust.

Black Bear clicked his tongue and didn't ask any more questions.

Looking at that familiar symbol, Chen Wenjin was silent for two seconds, then looked up at Zhang Wuxun and said softly, "Its target seems to be you."

Zhang Wuxun shrugged nonchalantly, "I'm just afraid it won't come."

Chen Wenjin frowned, seemingly disagreeing, and the young man also frowned as he looked at him.

"Don't worry," Zhang Wuxun smiled reassuringly. "Don't you know my abilities? I won't let myself suffer."

"You need to be careful about what's on you... You need to be careful too." Chen Wenjin's eyes were filled with worry.

Although she couldn't guess what exactly it was, its incredible ability gave off a feeling similar to something deep in Changbai Mountain, yet it seemed different. At least she didn't sense any danger for the time being.

Zhang Wuxun nodded, "I will."

The system, which had been dormant in my mind for a long time, popped up, sounding somewhat angry and a little aggrieved: "[This system is different from that guy; the system will never harm its host.]"

[I know, I know, we're in this together, we'll survive or perish together.] Zhang Wuxun quickly reassured the system, [By the way, now that we're here, have you sensed anything?]
The system was as easy to appease as ever. [No, that guy's consciousness might still be dormant. Should the host stop Zhang Qiling from entering the meteorite jade?]

[No.] Zhang Wuxun shook his head. [This part of the plot can't be changed. Little Brother must receive the divine mandate to go to the Bronze Gate and keep that guy occupied, buying time for the whole plan.]
The system secretly breathed a sigh of relief. It was really afraid that its host would go his own way and cause both it and Zhang Qiling to lose their memories, which would ruin all the plans.

The deliveryman put the lighter away and returned it to Zhang Wuxun.

Chen Wenjin dressed the man's body and dragged him aside.

From the top of the steps, Wu Xiaoxie and the other person were already calling to them, "Come up quickly."

The group walked up, and Wu Xiaoxie pointed to the gorgeously dressed mummified corpse on the throne, his tone filled with undisguised astonishment, "Look, the Queen Mother of the West is actually here."

The lamplight flickered, and the female corpse on the throne sat upright like a bell, wearing an extremely elaborate crown and a gorgeous gold-threaded robe, the hem of which was adorned with glittering jewels and jade pieces.
