Chapter 240 Open and Frank Talk

Wu Sansheng was perfectly aware of the compliments from Mop; these people's ulterior motives were all too easy to guess.

He was simply preoccupied with what lay below and testing the waters regarding his relationship with Zhang Wuxun.

Wu Sansheng smiled calmly and changed the subject in a few words.

The mop couldn't find what it wanted and had to leave disappointed.

Just then, the subordinate guarding the gap suddenly exclaimed, "Boss, boss, come quick! The rope's moving!"

Everyone swarmed around, as if they were admiring some priceless treasure, their eyes wide open, staring intently into the crack.

Two minutes later, Hei Xiazi's head popped out from the gap, shone a string of lights upwards, and shouted, "Third Master, come down, there's a way down here."

Suddenly, there was a commotion upstairs.

The mop-wielding group was overjoyed, their mouths twitching from ear to ear.

"Third Master, please go first," the mop said with a fawning smile.

Wu Sansheng nodded and waved for them to lower the rope.

Wu Xiaoxie helped the fat man up, gave him some water, and asked, "What should we do with the fat man? We can't just leave him here alone."

Wu Sansheng thought for a moment and said, "Let's bring him along too. We can't be separated at a time like this."

After saying that, he lowered himself down the rope with both hands to the crevice, and Black Bear helped him up.

Wu Sansheng saw Zhang Wuxun leisurely nestled inside, paused for a moment, turned around and patted Hei Xiazi on the shoulder, "You stay here to pick up the people, I'll go check out the front."

As he spoke, he turned and walked inside, grabbing Zhang Wuxun as he passed by and saying in a low voice, "Come on, Comrade Xiaoyu, let's have a good chat."

Zhang Wuxun's height and physique after shrinking his bones were a major disadvantage, and Wu Sansheng's attitude was also very firm and did not allow for refusal. Moreover, Zhang Wuxun did want to have a talk with Master Wu.

After the Snake Swamp Ghost City, Wu Sansheng gradually withdrew from public life. If we don't talk about it now, we won't even be able to find him later.

Wu Sansheng walked very fast, and Zhang Wuxun was basically being pushed forward by him.

Wu Sansheng only stopped when he found the mark below the crack, and asked bluntly, "What exactly is your purpose in approaching my nephew?"

Having been immersed in the treacherous world of martial arts for many years, Wu Sansheng could see through his opponents at a glance, knowing who they were and what their motives were.

Zhang Wuxun, however, seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. Not only was his identity a mystery, but his deliberate approach to Wu Xiaoxie was also suspicious.

Wu Sansheng had a feeling that this young man seemed to know a lot of things, and while seemingly protecting his nephew, he was also using his own methods to guide his naive nephew in a certain direction, and this direction coincided with their original plan. This was definitely not a coincidence.

Zhang Wuxun paused for a moment, then smiled and passed the buck back, "What do you think my purpose is?"

Wu Sansheng sneered, "You've hidden yourself too well. To be honest, all I've found out over this long period of time is some trivial information, so my suspicions are perfectly valid." Zhang Wuxun nodded. Indeed, he had been transported here immediately after his death, and the identity assigned by the system would seem flawless to a normal person.

But coincidentally, as soon as Wu Sansheng's plan to train Wu Xiaoxie began, Zhang Wuxun appeared like a cat smelling fish. It would be strange if there wasn't something fishy going on.

What frustrated Wu Sansheng was that even though he knew Zhang Wuxun had a problem, he couldn't find any suspicious points, which was the real suspicious point.

Very few people knew about the plan, but this young man in front of him seemed to have the ability to see through people's hearts. Especially after this meeting, he always had the illusion that he was being seen through by those mocking and indifferent eyes.

A hint of murderous intent flickered in Wu Sansheng's eyes. Such an uncontrollable variable had to be nipped in the bud if he didn't want things to get complicated.

Zhang Wuxun sensed Wu Sansheng's hostility towards him and waved his hand to signal him to calm down. "I'd like to show you something."

As he spoke, he reached behind his back, pulled out a camera from his storage space, opened the photos inside, and handed them to Wu Sansheng.

Wu Sansheng, suspicious, reached out and took the photos. His expression changed drastically after just one glance; he gasped, flipped through a few more, then abruptly looked up, staring intently at Zhang Wuxun, and asked urgently, "How did you get these photos? What else do you know?"

Zhang Wuxun then recounted how he had chased down the Wang family and killed them. "I'm not sure how many of the people you brought are 'Its' people. Their hiding skills are superb. If they don't give themselves away, I doubt anyone but Chen Wenjin would have been able to find out."

"Wen Jin?!" Upon hearing this name, Wu Sansheng could hardly control his emotions.

Glancing behind him, he saw that the others hadn't caught up yet. Taking a few deep breaths to compose himself, Wu Sansheng continued, "Have you seen her? Where is she?"

Zhang Wuxun shook his head. "We only exchanged a glance. They're probably still in this area now. The young man has caught up with them."

“Okay.” Wu Sansheng nodded, his expression visibly softening. “One last question, what else do you know about 'it'?”

Zhang Wuxun gave a wry smile. "To tell you the truth, I only pieced these things together after reading Wen Jin's notes that Tianzhen found at the Golmud Sanatorium. Before, I only vaguely knew that such a group of people existed. My ultimate goal is the same as yours, and... In short, I will not do anything to hurt Tianzhen. I can swear on my life for that."

Zhang Wuxun paused for a moment, not saying the name aloud, but he knew Wu Sansheng must have recognized it.

“Good, not bad.” A strange light flashed in Wu Sansheng’s eyes, and a smile appeared on his lips. “I will leave you enough information. As for whether you can see it, that depends on whether you are tough enough.”

No sooner had he finished speaking than the commotion behind them grew louder. Wu Sansheng handed the camera back to Zhang Wuxun and then asked him what he and Hei Xiazi had discovered down below.

Zhang Wuxun cursed inwardly. This old fox had said so much to barely gain a tiny bit of trust to be used as an experiment. He was sure that this old fox had an even better plan, and he was just a dispensable little link in his plan.

Whether it succeeds or fails won't make much difference. If it succeeds, his plan might go more smoothly. If it fails, at most Zhang Wuxun will be outmatched and end up losing his life at the hands of the Wang family.

But it doesn't matter, Zhang Wuxun has achieved his goal, hasn't he?

Even a little bit of trust is still trust.

Zhang Wuxun silently shed a tear of bitterness for himself.

Wu Xiaoxie, who caught up later, was covered in dust and dirt, and even he couldn't stand the smell on him. He wrinkled his nose and asked, "Muyu, what did you find down there?"
