Tomb Raiding: My Family's Last Clan Chief is Little Brother
Chapter 24 Twin Phoenix Carved Coffin
Chapter 24 Twin Phoenix Carved Coffin
In the afternoon, Wu Xiaoxie woke up from a nap and came out to see Zhang Wuxun and the others packing their equipment.
Zhang Wu found him and tossed him a waterproof suit, pointing to a waterproof backpack beside him, saying, "The frogmen have confirmed the location of the sea tomb. We have to go down in ten minutes. Your equipment is all packed."
Wu Xiaoxie thanked him, changed into waterproof clothing and flippers, and was carrying an oxygen tank on his back when the fat man came swaying over, clutching his belly.
Zhang Wuxun laughed as soon as he saw it, "You need to lose weight, Fatty. You've made even the largest size waterproof suit look like a maternity dress."
The fat man patted his round belly, which was as big as a ball, dismissively, with a hint of smugness. "You don't know anything. This is my protective fat."
"Ah, yes, yes."
Zhang Wuxun waved his hand, too lazy to argue with him, tied his hair into a bun with a hair tie, and called to Wu Xiaoxie to get ready to go into the water.
After diving for a short while, the group spotted a cratered hole left by an explosion.
After examining the traces around the tomb robber's hole, the group decided to go inside and take a look.
After exchanging a few gestures at the cave entrance to confirm that everything was in order, Zhang Wuxun pointed to himself, indicating that he would take the lead.
The fat man glanced at the tunnel and expressed some disapproval.
Zhang Wuxun gestured around his waist and then pointed to his stomach, implying that he was too fat and that if his lower opening was too small, he might get stuck and become embarrassing.
The fat man's eyes widened as soon as he saw it, and he was about to punch Zhang Wuxun while blowing bubbles.
Zhang Wuxun dodged with a flick of his webbed feet, gave the fat man a little thumbs-up, and nimbly swam into the tomb.
It has to be said that the author of this book is truly amazing. If it weren't for the different time and space, Zhang Wuxun would really like to become his apprentice and learn a little bit of knowledge, which would be enough to make him rich.
While his mind wandered freely, Zhang Wuxun kept a close eye on his surroundings.
He gestured to the people behind him to indicate that it was safe for the time being, and then shone his searchlight on the tomb wall with a large hole in it.
To facilitate detailed communication, they brought a waterproof magnetic drawing board with them when they came down.
Zhang Wuxun had read the plot and knew that the cave was dug by the sea monkeys, so he wrote this sentence on the drawing board for them to see.
Wu Xiaoxie and Fatty agreed. Fatty then took the underwater rifle off his back, released the safety, and swam in headfirst.
After swimming for a while, Wu Xiaoxie grabbed the fat man in front of him, pointed to the statue on the wall, and wrote on the drawing board: "There might be something wrong with the statue. The eyes of those faces are gradually opening."
Zhang Wuxun approached the statue on the stone wall, examined it, then pulled out his dagger and poked its eye. After confirming there was nothing wrong, he turned to Wu Xiaoxie and gave him an OK sign.
Wu Xiaoxie nodded, and the group continued forward.
A stone slab appeared ahead, blocking the road.
Fatty peeked into the gap, and Wu Xiaoxie, curious, joined in the fun.
Zhang Wuxun, with his sharp eyes, noticed a few strands of black hair peeking out from the crack under the stone slab. He quickly stepped forward, pulled the two back, and after retreating a few meters, he wrote "Behind the stone slab is the Forbidden Woman" on the drawing board and showed it to the two bewildered people.
The two initially didn't take it seriously, but Zhang Wuxun shrugged, indicating that they could do as they pleased, and then kicked off with his flippers and swam back.
Anyway, he had already warned them that they wouldn't learn their lesson until they saw the coffin, so it would be good for them to remember.
After swimming a distance, the commotion behind them gradually increased. Turning around, they saw Wu Xiaoxie and Fatty desperately paddling to escape, their faces filled with terror.
Aning and the others were in a similar sorry state.
After waiting for them to come over, Zhang Wuxun suddenly kicked the wall.
Suddenly, the world spun around them, and before Wu Xiaoxie and the others could react, they were swept into the vortex.
Zhang Wuxun himself was also feeling unwell; his mind was completely blank, and the initial surge of energy gradually subsided.
Who the hell designed this stupid mechanism? It's like a fucking toilet.
Zhang Wuxun felt waves of nausea, and his vision blurred. He wanted to curse!
He struggled to swim to the surface, thankfully the searchlight hanging from his waist wasn't washed away.
Zhang Wuxun turned on his searchlight and shone it around to confirm that he was in a tomb chamber and that he was in a large pool. He used his hands to support himself on the edge and climbed up.
He turned around and pulled Wu Xiaoxie, who was floating upside down in the pool, out of the water. He pressed on Wu's stomach; Wu hadn't swallowed much water and his breathing was steady.
Zhang Wuxun then laid him flat and pressed on his chest a few times. Wu Xiaoxie coughed up water, and the first thing he said when he opened his eyes was to curse, "You damn wooden fish, you dog, why didn't you say so earlier if you knew the way!"
Zhang Wuxun stretched out his legs, took off his breathing mask, took out a candied hawthorn-flavored energy gel from his backpack and threw it into his arms, then took one for himself. "I was just guessing. I told you guys there was a forbidden woman, but you just wouldn't believe me. Since we can't go down there, I have to find a way up here."
He glanced at the fat man still spinning in circles in the pool out of the corner of his eye and chuckled, "Hey fat swan in the pool, stop spinning like that, you're so ugly."
The fat man climbed up, and before he could even catch his breath, he was about to kick Zhang Wuxun. His kick was weak and powerless, and Zhang Wuxun didn't bother to dodge.
The fat man lay on the ground, weakly reaching out his hand. Zhang Wuxun placed two energy gels in his palm.
The underwater tomb is different from the dry tomb. The pressure of seawater is already high, so he put the heavier items such as self-heating meals and canned food in his space. He didn't even take out the skull knife. His backpack was full of compressed biscuits and energy gels.
When he bought it, he specifically chose the sweet and sour flavored candied hawthorn energy gel, because sour is better than sweet and cloying.
Zhang the Bald and A Ning also climbed up.
After replenishing their energy, the group used flashlights to explore the tomb chamber.
Suddenly, Ah Ning pointed to a string of small footprints on the ground and said, "Look, what's this?"
Wu Xiaoxie crouched down for a closer look. "Children's footprints? Who would bring a child into a tomb? Wait a minute!" His expression changed. "This is adipocere!"
As he spoke, he scraped off a waxy little bit with his dagger and held it in front of Zhang Wuxun, saying, "Smell it."
Zhang Wuxun wrinkled his nose in disgust, "Take it away, take it away."
The fat man had already followed the footprints to a large blue-and-white porcelain jar with a dragon and cloud design in the corner. He shushed everyone, signaling them to be quiet.
Suddenly, the large porcelain jar moved a few times.
Everyone became wary.
The fat man whispered, "That little zongzi is probably hiding behind this big porcelain jar. Let's split up and surround it, and catch it."
With a bewildered look on his face, Bald Zhang asked curiously, "Zongzi? What zongzi? Jiaxing Wufangzhai zongzi?"
The fat man rolled his eyes in annoyance and muttered, "Idiot."
Zhang Wuxun knew that the bald-headed guy was saying that on purpose. It has to be said that the guy's acting skills were really good. Even the usually shrewd and meticulous Fatty misjudged him this time.
But does the young man actually like to eat zongzi from Jiaxing Wufangzhai? Zhang Wuxun silently made a mental note of it; he would have to prepare some for his next tomb raiding trip.
Zhang Wuxun had read the plot and knew that there was only an empty coffin at the end, so he wasn't interested.
Baldy Zhang eagerly approached, mimicking Fatty's actions, and tiptoed towards the large porcelain jar from either side.
Sure enough, there was nothing but an open double-phoenix carved baby coffin behind it.
Wu Xiaoxie said, "That's probably the coffin for that little rice dumpling."
The fat man kept shining a light into the coffin, smacking his lips as he did so.
Zhang Wuxun teased him, "What's wrong, craving meat? Look at the size of this little coffin, even that little rice dumpling probably won't be enough for you."
