Chapter 170 Return to the Rift
Zhang Wuxun braved the wind and snow for a long time, following the smell of sulfur, and finally found a hot spring. However, he discovered that this hot spring was the same one they had found after entering the snow mountain, the one behind the Panlong Sealing Stone.

Zhang Wu was dumbfounded when he searched for someone.

How can the illusion overlap with reality?
He didn't have time to think about it right now; if he delayed any longer, he would get chills from the cold.

They quickly crawled into the crack, where a warm breath rushed towards them.

After climbing through the narrowest part, Zhang Wuxun suddenly heard voices ahead. He listened carefully and found that it was Wu Xiaoxie and Fatty's voices.

He got a little excited and crawled two more steps forward. When the crack reached the end, he saw Wu Xiaoxie sitting by the fire with his back to him. Fatty and Panzi were next to him. Strangely, A Ning and her group were not there for some reason.

Could it be that Aning has already led the team away from here ahead of time?
The smell of sulfur was so strong that it made Zhang Wuxun feel dizzy and disoriented. He suddenly couldn't tell if it was a hallucination or reality.

"Naive, Fatty!"

Zhang Wuxun shouted towards Wu Xiaoxie, his voice so loud that it echoed throughout the empty volcanic cave.

Strangely, Wu Xiaoxie and his companions did not react to Zhang Wuxun's appearance.

Zhang Wuxun was momentarily stunned, then his peripheral vision caught sight of something. He turned to look at Wu Xiaoxie and the others, where a very familiar figure suddenly appeared.

"We're one short for a three-player game. There are four of us: Tianzhen, Fatty, and Brother Pan. Let's play together!"

Just as Zhang Wuxun looked over, the figure suddenly spoke.

Zhang Wuxun was taken aback. That voice, that voice was clearly his own!
What exactly is going on?

Zhang Wuxun's mind was in complete turmoil. He hurriedly jumped from the crack to the ground and rushed toward the figure.

All he wants to know now is what the person with the same voice looks like.

He had only taken two steps when suddenly his footing gave way to nothingness, and the world spun around him. Zhang Wuxun's vision went black, and before he lost consciousness, he saw the figure turn towards him.

It was a face exactly like his, stiff as a puppet, but after seeing Zhang Wuxun's astonished expression, a very standard smile appeared on its lips.

"Fuck——"

Zhang Wuxun screamed as his falling body abruptly stopped. The next moment, he opened his eyes and stared blankly at the rocks above him, still reeling from the terrifying scene he had just witnessed.

The tingling pain in his shoulder brought him back to his senses as quickly as possible.

Taking a deep breath, Zhang Wuxun opened his sleeping bag, sat up, and looked around. The first thing he saw was the double-layered mural that he had once peeled off himself.

Wu Xiaoxie and Fatty were leaning against each other in their sleeping bags, fast asleep.

Several tents were set up around the area, and people were resting inside. The two foreigners on night watch were also huddled together, dozing off. The comfortable environment near the hot springs was just perfect for relaxing one's mind and body.

Zhang Wuxun got up without alerting anyone. Silently, like a ghost, he left Wu Xiaoxie and the others with a backpack full of food, and then disappeared into the rock crevice sealed off by the stone.

He had to retrieve the Skull Blade; it was a Dragon Spine Blade that was almost comparable to the Black Gold Ancient Blade of the young man, and it would be a great pity to lose it.

There were also a dozen or so sacks of gold in the treasure room that needed to be retrieved from the spatial storage. Wu Xiaoxie was about to cause a ruckus at the New Moon Hotel, and they needed money. Leaving aside the hardships and losses they'd endured to get here, at least their team was covered in blood and no one had died. But the fact that they'd been severely injured was enough to annoy Zhang Wuxun. He hadn't suffered this level of injury in a long time; the underwater tomb incident didn't count, that was the system's fault.

In short, Zhang Wuxun was determined to get those treasures. He couldn't possibly work so hard only to have the dung beetle run into diarrhea and leave with nothing. That would be too much of a loss.

With his mind calculating how the story would unfold, Zhang Wuxun followed the trail left by Wu Xiaoxie and the others as they fled back to the three-way rift.

Even from a distance, Zhang Wuxun could hear the ghostly wails of the human-faced bird on the other side of the rift valley, so he decided to take a break for the time being.

There is also a small hot spring here, which can serve as a temporary base to rest and rejuvenate.

He planned to wait until the human-faced bird flew out to forage for food before sneaking in to make his move.

Zhang Wuxun had already had enough of the ugly and terrifying creature, the human-faced bird, after experiencing it once; he truly couldn't bear it anymore.

It wasn't that Zhang Wuxun couldn't beat it; it was absolutely because this creature, which defied the established rules, was so ugly that it irritated his eyes. That's exactly it.

On the first day, when Zhang Wuxun crossed the rift to investigate, the human-faced birds were all sitting on the bronze chains above the rift, not moving an inch.

Zhang Wuxun noticed that the corpses of the human-faced birds and monkeys in the mouths that he and Wu Xiaoxie had killed were gone, leaving only fresh bones and stray hairs on the ground. He guessed that they had been dismembered and eaten by these cold-blooded creatures.

Because the double-opening crack was directly below the flock of human-faced birds, Zhang Wuxun had no chance to obtain the skull knife and could only return disappointed.

There was still no movement the next day.

Zhang Wuxun decided to wait two days before making a decision, figuring those human-faced birds had probably just had a big meal and weren't hungry yet.

He understands the simple truth that "haste makes waste."

On the fifth day, there was still no movement from the rift valley, and Zhang Wuxun was getting anxious.

These dead birds are so damn good at staying home! It's been five days and they still haven't moved an inch. Did some kind of mushroom grow on their butts and stick to them or what?

He left Wu Xiaoxie and the others with enough food for seven days before he left.

Because he knew that given Wu Xiaoxie's personality, there was a high probability that after he entered the rift valley again, he would stay by the hot spring to wait for him to come out. Even if the hope was slim, Fatty would most likely wait with Wu Xiaoxie.

If this drags on any longer, what will happen if Wu Xiaogou and Fat Mama go hungry? The main problem is that if it takes too long, he won't be able to explain himself when the two of them ask him questions.

Hey!
Zhang Wuxun frowned in frustration, making up his mind: two more days, just two more days for those bastards. Once the time is up, he won't care whether they're looking for food or not. He'll just grab the detonators and bombard them all until they're all gone.

I'm a little worried that after he does this, the guy might not be able to find his way home after coming out of the bronze door.

The thought of the bewildered expression on the young man's indifferent face made Zhang Wuxun chuckle.

"Get serious," Zhang Wuxun slapped himself, his smile fading, and continued the tedious wait.
