Tomb Raiding: My Family's Last Clan Chief is Little Brother

Chapter 159 The Ghost Seal of the Fallen King

Chapter 159 The Ghost Seal of the Fallen King
Last time, this woman ran away without a trace, and Zhang Wuxun didn't even have time to collect the debt. This time, however, he just happened to run into her again.

However, the timing is not right now. If we were to actually produce the IOU, I suspect that woman, Ah Ning, would become enraged, turn her back on us, and fire a burst of bullets at him.

That's really laughable.

Zhang Wuxun clicked his tongue; this was a bit dangerous.

"Forget it, I'll let it go this time." Zhang Wuxun thought to himself. Anyway, he would run into A Ning again on the upcoming desert trip, and he could collect the debt then.

A few minutes later, almost everyone woke up.

A Ning walked over and went directly to Wu Xiaoxie to discuss the cooperation.

A hint of surprise flashed in Wu Xiaoxie's eyes, but he said expressionlessly, "Cooperation? To be honest, as soon as you made this suggestion, I felt that you didn't have any good intentions. You should learn from your mistakes."

A Ning hadn't expected Wu Xiaoxie to bring up the past so directly, his words clearly expressing his dissatisfaction with her actions in the underwater tomb. A little embarrassed, she smiled and shook her head, saying, "Well, I didn't have time to say goodbye to you all on the island. Now, thank you for saving me. I had my reasons for being in the underwater tomb... I never intended to harm you..."

Before he could finish speaking, he was interrupted by a sneer.

Ah Ning frowned and looked over, somewhat displeased. "Mr. Zhang, is there a problem?"

Zhang Wuxun waved his hand, "No, but don't try to play the emotional card. You two are completely unrelated and don't know each other at all. Let's get straight to the point."

This woman is as beautiful as a rose, but unfortunately, she's not only thorny but also poisonous—the kind that can kill you if you're not careful. He has to keep a close eye on Xiao Tianzhen; he absolutely can't let this poisonous rose deceive him.

Wu Xiaoxie nodded in agreement, "That's right, we're not familiar with each other." He thought to himself, "Nobody would believe you."

The fat man chimed in, "If we really want to cooperate, we have to be open and honest. Let's not hide anything. It's easier to do things when everyone is open and honest."

Ah Ning's face was somewhat gloomy. She pursed her lips, seemingly worried about something. She beckoned over a foreigner and introduced him, "This is Kirk. He's a sinologist specializing in Eastern China. He knows the most about this whole thing. If you want to know anything, just ask him."

Wu Xiaoxie looked at Kirk, thought for a moment, and asked, "What did you get from the underwater tomb? And what was your boss's purpose in sending you to the Heavenly Palace on the Clouds?"

Ah Ning used the arrow formation to hold them off, and then disappeared for a long time. She must have obtained something or some information somewhere.

Kirk was slightly surprised. "You don't know what's in the underwater tomb?"

Wu Xiaoxie remained silent, thinking to himself, "How the hell am I supposed to know?"

Kirk shook his head. "I'm sorry, we can't tell you our boss's purpose."

He changed the subject and continued, "I'm just a team leader, a worker. The boss won't tell us what he's going to do. We just need to complete the tasks assigned by the boss. But I can tell you that we have two tasks in the underwater tomb: one is the legendary Ghost Seal that can summon the army of the underworld, and the other is the structural diagram of this underground palace."

"The Ghost Seal?" Wu Xiaoxie exclaimed in surprise. "You mean, King Lu Shang's Ghost Seal is in the underwater tomb!"

Kirk shook his head. "According to the records, it should be, but unfortunately we didn't find the Ghost Seal, and your third uncle got the structural diagram of the underground palace first."

Wu Xiaoxie suddenly realized why his third uncle said the "key" was in his hands; so that's how it was. He truly lived up to his reputation as an old fox. The fat man became interested upon hearing about the Ghost Seal. That time he collaborated with people from A-Ning's company to enter the Lu King's tomb, those people were quite secretive back then, but now it seemed their goal might be the Ghost Seal. However, he discovered something was amiss halfway through and tricked them; A-Ning still held a grudge.

No sooner had he moved closer than Ah Ning turned away with a look of disgust and stood on the other side of Kirk.

The fat man curled his lip, thinking to himself, "If you don't like me that much, I won't bother with you."

"So you didn't get anything from the underwater tomb? Who would believe that?" The fat man said sarcastically. "Given your track record, you probably copied all the patterns on the walls of the tomb."

Kirk opened his mouth to say something, but was stopped by Aning.

"I've told you pretty much everything I should and shouldn't have said. Since we're going to cooperate, we should share information. What about you guys?" A Ning looked at Wu Xiaoxie with a slightly oppressive look in her eyes.

This woman is truly cunning. Even though she's already cornered, she still tries to squeeze out information bit by bit, like squeezing tofu, and then take the opportunity to trick Wu Xiaoxie into revealing the structural diagram.

Unfortunately, her wishful thinking was destined to fail, because Wu Sansheng kept the matter a secret, and Wu Xiaoxie, who had been pushed around the whole time, knew absolutely nothing, hahaha.

Zhang Wuxun patted Wu Xiaoxie on the shoulder to calm him down, then pointed to A Ning's pocket, where a small corner of paper was visible. "Miss A Ning, although it's a bit dark in this tomb, we can't just lie through our teeth. Trying to fool us with a few meaningless words isn't the attitude of a cooperative partner."

Ah Ning's face turned ugly for a moment. She was very unwilling, but she could only grit her teeth and take out a stack of photos from her pocket and hand them to Wu Xiaoxie. "I went through so much trouble to get these things, and you guys are really getting them for free."

Wu Xiaoxie took the photo, winked at Zhang Wuxun, and then went to the side to study the contents of the photo with Kirk.

The fat man chuckled, walked over, bumped Zhang Wuxun's shoulder, and raised an eyebrow. "Perfect chemistry, huh?"

Zhang Wuxun gave a thumbs up, opened his backpack and organized his gear. "Fatty, come help us. We're leaving soon."

Upon hearing this, Ah Ning became somewhat anxious and was about to say something when Wu Xiaoxie suddenly exclaimed, "Oh dear!"

"Muyu, come and look at this!" Wu Xiaoxie waved to Zhang Wuxun, holding up a photo.

Zhang Wuxun zipped up his backpack, walked over, and asked, "What's wrong?"

“Look at this.” Wu Xiaoxie pointed to a large, long, black, soft-bodied creature with many legs in the photo. The mural depicted this creature slowly climbing up from the bottom of a cliff, surrounded by many faceless black imps, and people above the cliff were pouring something down.

The fat man exclaimed, "My goodness! Could this be the very thing that the people of Dongxia worship as the King of Ten Thousand Slaves?!"

Kirk said in surprise, "You guys even know this?"

Ah Ning hurriedly pressed, "What else do you know?"

Wu Xiaoxie was baffled. "What do we know?"

Aning became even more anxious, staring intently at him. "I've told you everything about me, but you haven't mentioned a word about your relationship with Wu Sansheng. You bunch of grown men, you can't be more petty than a woman like me, can you?"
