Chapter 976 Two Dragons Traverse
Chapter 976 Two Dragons Soaring Through the Sky
"Good! Then kill! The vast, sprawling frontier forges the empire's pride! The frontier will be breached, but it will never surrender!" Ismir's expression was utterly ferocious, his eyes bloodshot with exhaustion. Faced with the orcs' relentless onslaught, he was utterly worn down. His meticulously constructed defenses seemed so powerless against the onslaught of the giant ogres! Houses were toppled, and resisting soldiers were buried in the rubble…
"Roar!" The roar of the orcs came from the stone steps. Ymir didn't hold back either. He stabbed the snake-shaped sword in the dark and pulled it back with several twitching corpses hanging from it.
“These scum!” Ymir shook his head and tossed the corpses aside. These orcs were headless flies that had rushed into the castle and managed to get to them. Most of the orcs were still wandering around the castle aimlessly.
"Thump! Thump! Thump!" A dull thud echoed from the roadblock in the distance, but the noise only made everyone laugh.
"What's that noise? Are they clearing the roadblocks?" Ismir asked, frowning.
"Are they crazy? The entire staircase is blocked by debris and rocks. Even if we all die, they still won't be able to dig it open!" Ymir shook his head and complained.
"Fools! Ignore them!" Ismir laughed in exasperation. Those skinny orcs digging through those obstacles? Where giant trolls can't get in, Ymir is the god of war! He crushes all humanoid species in both strength and size!
"They've found this place!" A militiaman with keen hearing quickly noticed the movement and, without saying a word, raised his crossbow and began firing into the darkness. The dense arrows pierced the darkness, followed by screams of agony.
"Crack!" Upon hearing the noise, the Nature Guardian immediately put down its shield and smashed it on the ground to piece together a somewhat flimsy shield wall.
"Release!" Ismir said coldly, his hand on the shield-bearing soldier's shoulder as he stared into the darkness.
"Throw some fire down to warm them up!" The screams from the darkness made everyone's hearts sink. The unknown fear carried through the darkness. The third floor was not well-lit; a few rays of light shone through the wooden planks, illuminating everyone's pale faces. By the dim candlelight, they stared at the deep darkness before them...
"Boom!" A torch was casually lit and thrown down, its light illuminating the evil in the darkness and the ferocious face of the orc.
"Awooo!" The orc who had miraculously survived was splattered with grease from the torch and frantically tried to ignite the flames. However, the orc's filthy, grease-covered fur coat became the perfect fuel for the fire, and instantly a fireball rose up. A group of burning figures darted around like headless flies, causing even greater panic. After a while, these orcs who had lit the fire four times were finally killed by the orcs behind them, and the castle fell into an eerie silence once more.
"Sniff sniff sniff~" A group of nature guardians, suppressing their nausea, sniffed the air as they smelled the aroma of roasted meat.
"I smell smoke! Whether those idiots ignited flammable materials or set the city on fire, we need to open the rooftop! Sir!" The group said with somber expressions. Clearly, if they didn't retreat to the rooftop, they'd be roasted alive; if they did, they'd become targets for giant troll throwers...
……
"Is the situation that bad?" Dos Anthony looked at the orcs swarming around, speechless. The bunkers were littered with mangled corpses. Although orcs were the majority, Dos Anthony had also seen his share of well-equipped garrison troops. After searching several half-collapsed houses, Dos Anthony was certain of at least two things: first, there were no civilians in the city; second, the only surviving garrison likely lay in the castle. The brutality of the battlefield exceeded Dos Anthony's expectations. He had assumed the young pioneering soldiers would be easily defeated, but examining the corpses revealed that these martyrs, who also carried the blood of imperial pride, were perhaps more loyal and fanatical than anyone had imagined! It was no exaggeration to say that these soldiers' fatal wounds all came from direct combat, or their bodies were covered in wounds…
"Hopefully we make it, Kurt! Air suppression! Drive away those troublesome giant ogres!" Dos Anthony ordered. "Drive away" was really an understatement; those slow-moving giant ogres, without equal support, were the most conspicuous targets on the battlefield! Dos Anthony tossed aside a stone they'd thrown, speechless. Those small catapults were far more lethal on the battlefield than heavy ones! "Roar! Roar!" Turning a corner, Dos Anthony found himself surrounded by ogres on all sides! These tall creatures wielding maces, while not as awe-inspiring as the giant ogres, were still considerably larger than humans. But Dos Anthony, in a hurry, didn't waste time talking to them. With a flick of his longsword, he sliced off a club powerful enough to crush an adult militiaman with a single blow, the blade still cutting off half its face. It collapsed, convulsing, beyond saving!
"Get out of my way! Flower!" Dos Anthony, holding a blue flower, suddenly crushed it! A burst of blue light exploded, and a thunderous sound covered an area of a hundred meters! Following the electric current, Dos Anthony left the paralyzed and stiffened orcs behind him with terrifying speed, and charged towards the castle with his sword.
"Kill!" With both hands gripping the sword hilt, he suddenly slashed horizontally. How could those trashy orc weapons of the Dragon Slayer Sword, capable of cleaving through dragon scales, possibly withstand such a powerful weapon? Any orc who stood in Dos Anthony's way was doomed to be cleaved in two!
"Get out of the way!" Dos Antony kicked aside the half-corpse blocking his path, ignoring the orcs beside him banging their weapons against his armor. He swung his sword impatiently, a flash of lightning illuminating the terrified faces and freezing their terror in time.
"Heh heh heh! Maggots in the darkness!" Looking at the pitch-black castle, Dos Anthony helplessly raised his hand and snapped his fingers. Then, he pulled his index finger and thumb apart, and a thick bolt of electricity appeared between his fingers. The dazzling light illuminated the darkness before him. Dos Anthony raised his left hand and slowly walked into the castle…
Because of Ymir, Ismir built his castle to be very large. The most basic three-story castle was almost as tall as a shabby five-story castle. After Dos Antony entered, he killed no fewer than dozens of orcs along the way. Soon the orcs knew that a tough opponent had appeared, and they spontaneously formed a group and began to approach from the darkness...
"Tsk tsk tsk! Who gave you the misconception that dragon knights are weak in foot combat? The premise that dragon knights rule the sky and paladins dominate the earth is that dragon knights are not on the ground right now... Fools!" Dos Anthony shook his head with pity, and the surging dragon power gathered together, forming a semi-transparent armor barrier on his body.
"Come! Let me see your worth!" Dos Antony, leaning on his sword in the lord's hall, smiled calmly, then extinguished the electricity in his hand, plunging the first floor of the castle into darkness once more...
……
"Are there any brothers left on the first floor?" Ismir suddenly grabbed the group and asked anxiously.
“I don’t know. We should be all the survivors. The castle didn’t extinguish the campfires and candles. Anyone who survived would have come up with us!” Ymir shook her head.
"Wait a minute! There's something else on the first floor..." Suddenly, a goblin knight looked at everyone and gave an awkward smile.
"There are more brothers on the first floor?" Ismir's head went blank after hearing this, and he grabbed his staff, ready to rush down, but before he could take a step, Ymir grabbed his arm.
"Calm down! Going down there is pointless!" Ymir said coldly. Everyone was going to die anyway, so it didn't matter whether they died sooner or later. They could take a few more people down with them while they were up there! Going down into the melee would only make them die faster!
"No... sir, you've misunderstood me... next to the fireplace on the first floor... is a dragon's nest!"
……
"What the hell is this?!" Dos Anthony's terrified roar echoed through the empty hall...
I've been sick for a week, almost got hospitalized, and my throat still isn't better. It's probably norovirus... Guys, please vote and give me a reward!
