Chapter 861 Iron Horse Glacier Comes to Dream
Chapter 861 Iron Horse Glacier Comes to Dream
"Hiss! How could a goblin mage with such poor skills make such a commotion?" Elrond picked up a clump of dirt from the ground, looking incredulous. Although goblins do have their own mages, the probability of their emergence is so low that even orc shamans would weep. How could they possibly raise a sage who can play forbidden spells? Or rather, assemble a group of forbidden spell mages?
"Aren't they the masters?" Lin De asked, puzzled.
"I can't say for sure who made the move..." Elrond shook his head with some regret. Under the influence of the forbidden elemental turbulence, even using prophecy or reshaping skills, he couldn't see what had happened in the past, so Elrond could only guess.
"What do you mean, that people hate us and humanity?" Following the principle that if he couldn't figure out who the murderer was, he should think about who the beneficiaries were, Elrond changed his approach.
"A half-orc?" Lind asked tentatively.
"Perhaps it's them!" Elrond said to Lind as if he were talking to himself. After searching around, the only ones capable of causing such a commotion were the orcs. The orcs, who possessed the vast northern lands, were not lacking in high-level spellcasters. As long as they searched diligently, they could always find various high-level professionals in the northern wasteland, which was like a breeding ground for poisonous insects!
“Then we’ll probably have to raise our alert level! The Lagranges’ erratic attacks across the Misty Mountains have probably enraged the Orcs… I’m afraid they might attack Rivendell!” Lind said with some concern.
"Just increase vigilance. If those beasts really dare to come to Rivendell... I'd be more than happy!" Elrond narrowed his eyes. The heavy casualties of his people caused the outwardly strong Elrond immense grief! Nearly a thousand elite elves! If you don't understand how painful that is, imagine Roland's expression after an entire knightly order was carried away by a forbidden spell...
……
"Rosgar Castle? The Beorn actually managed to build a castle fortress here?" Aragorn exclaimed in astonishment, staring at Rosgar Castle nestled against the forest. In his memory, the Beorn were northern nomads like the Dúnedan, with virtually no fixed cities. Yet his poor brethren had managed to build a castle fortress! Clearly, this greatly surprised Aragorn.
“Yes, after the King’s Landing family moved into the Old Pass area, the Beorn people here settled down. They began to develop villages and settlements, and renovated Rosgar Castle, where they established a permanent presence!” Legolas explained.
"The Lagranges have brought hope and vitality to this region, and the Beorn are no longer fighting alone!" Legolas exclaimed.
"I can't wait to see this powerful kingdom!" Aragorn's eyes were full of longing. Now, Aragorn was trying to learn how to become a king, and Roland was the best answer for him.
(Roland: Ha! What level are you to compare yourself to? I, Roland, owe everything I am today to talent and hard work! System! Recruit!)
"You won't be disappointed!" Legolas patted Aragorn on the shoulder.
“Let’s go! Let’s try some Beorn pastries; their skills are highly praised!” Legolas smiled.
……
"Welcome! Travelers from afar!" Inside the cozy and clean tavern, a cook named Beon wiped her hands and came over to greet them.
"What would you like, dear guests who have come from afar? Perhaps you'd like to brush off the dust? How about some roast meat to warm your hungry stomachs? Honey cakes can awaken your taste buds, and of course, some delicious ale can quench your thirst?" the cook greeted them warmly.
"A plate of roast meat, two honey cakes, a cream soup, and... two glasses of ale!" Legolas took off his hood, pulled out a purse from his pocket, and handed the cook a silver coin.
"Ah! Respected elven ranger, welcome to the Big Belly Tavern!" The cook looked at the handsome Legolas in surprise; the elf's beautiful face made her momentarily stunned.
"Thank you!" Legolas smiled warmly, which made the cook blush. She covered her face and quickly ran to the kitchen.
"Tsk tsk tsk!" Aragorn clicked his tongue in mockery.
"Alright, stop joking! Winter is almost here, let's have something hot to warm ourselves up!" Legolas said, gazing absently at the glowing red fireplace.
"It's very cold up north here, young man! It's going to snow heavily soon!" An old man eating nearby chuckled as he looked at the two people, who were wearing only thin leather armor and light clothing, and advised them.
“Yes! Thank you for reminding me!” Aragorn smiled kindly and raised his water glass in acknowledgment.
"Your meal! Enjoy!" Aragorn turned around and saw the cook gazing tenderly at Legolas, speaking softly. "Ahem!" Aragorn coughed lightly.
"Thank you! Come and eat!" Legolas smiled and politely declined the cook's advances, then smiled at Aragorn.
……
After the two had eaten and drunk their fill, they left the tavern and looked around with some curiosity at the bustling crowd of northerners on the street.
"Boom boom boom!" Aragorn shook the rattle in front of him with great interest.
"Huh? This is fun!" Legolas played with the wooden figure in front of him, whose limbs could move. Under his skillful hands, the wooden figure changed into various poses.
"It's getting late, we probably won't be able to continue our journey!" Legolas said softly, watching Aragorn having a great time.
“Shall we stay here tonight? I just saw that the tavern over there offers lodging!” Aragorn pointed in the direction of the tavern they came from behind.
“Alright! Then we’ll stay here!” Legolas nodded.
"It's more lively here than I imagined!" Aragorn exclaimed. It was unexpected that a city could be built on this land. After all, a city meant stability and security. The nomads of Beorn were originally unable to build a large, permanent city under the threat of the orcs.
"The iron cavalry of the Kingdom of Lagrange has crushed the spines of the orcs, and those powerful knights have conquered most of the North with their iron hooves. They protect the various tribes of the North!" Legolas said calmly, looking at Aragorn. Although he was an elf, he had to admit that the North was now dominated by humans. If the Knights of Lagrange were the foundation upon which they stood, then the powerful dragon knights were their magnificent superstructure, firmly suppressing anyone who dared to offend them!
……
"Crackling!" The fireplace flames rose slowly, and the once somewhat cold room gradually warmed up, which made the two of them relax.
"Gentlemen, please get some rest. The nights here are long!" The waiter added charcoal to the fireplace and respectfully withdrew.
"Okay, thank you!" The two nodded to the waiter and watched him close the door.
"Not bad, although it's not exquisite or luxurious, it's clean enough!" Legolas patted the bed and said.
"Go to sleep early, you have to go to work tomorrow!" Aragorn, who was a little tired, didn't care about these things. After all, he had never been a pampered young nobleman, and his conditions were already very good.
……
"Whoosh~" A gust of cold wind blew by.
"Kill!" A cavalry charge broke through the ice and snow from the white mist, brandishing their weapons and slashing at the orcs. Their black blood melted the ice on the riverbank.
“Father!” Aragorn’s pupils contracted as he looked at the leading knight.
"Hey! Aragorn, wake up!" Legolas's voice faintly drifted over.
"What's wrong? Did you have a dream?" Legolas asked with concern, looking at Aragorn, who was covered in sweat.
