Chapter 736 Reinforcements for Lulong Fortress

"They're here!" Ymir said in a deep voice, straightening his body and raising his greatsword.

"Retreat!" The goblin knight readily retreated, showing no intention of staying to fight the orcs hand-to-hand, appearing completely at ease.

With a rustling sound, only Ymir remained on the ground, along with the messy pig hoof prints. This half-giant from the North stood silently in the jungle, carrying a three-meter-long greatsword, motionless like a statue.

"Awooo!" Suddenly the bushes parted, and a group of orcs clad in iron armor charged madly toward Ymir. They waved their weapons haphazardly, making Ymir frown. Although he didn't know what was going on, he vaguely felt that these orcs were not the elite orcs the kingdom had described.

Fortunately, it wasn't Caslo who fought the orcs, otherwise he would definitely have noticed something. After all, as the captain of the Imperial Firefighting Team, he had fought against regular troops and guerrillas, battling Balrogs and Ringwraiths. He was incredibly experienced, and if he had really observed these orcs, he would have noticed something was amiss.

"Roar!" Ymir roared, raising the greatsword slung over his shoulder with one hand and slicing the first orc charging at him off along with his armor!

"Pfft!" The orc, still convulsing, died with his eyes wide open, the hand attached to his neck twitching as if electrocuted.

"Die!" Ymir thrust her greatsword forward, the powerful force sending the charging orc flying as if it had hit a dump truck.

"Swoosh!" The sword light, as sharp as a bolt of lightning, stung the eyes. The orc who was sent flying felt a chill on his waist, and then watched as his lower body and upper body began to fall in a split-body freefall.

"Awooo!" The half-orc, who wasn't quite dead, struggled to crawl away from this hellish place, but Ymir ignored him and let him drag his gushing internal organs as he crawled on the ground. However, he only crawled a few meters before he died from blood loss.

"Let me see if the bones of you bastards are harder than your filthy souls!" Ymir said, casually swatting away an orc who was trying to sneak up on him, and then cleaving another orc in two with a single stroke of his sword!

Faced with the orcs' overwhelming onslaught, Ymir's face, hidden beneath her helmet, revealed a disdainful smile, a hint of ferocity flashing in her eyes...

"Clang!" Faced with the orcs' frenzied attacks, Ymir chose to abandon defense, relying solely on the terrifying defensive power of the Blood Mist Village to withstand the orcs' blunt force attacks. The orcs' attacks, aside from making a sound under Ymir's heavy armor, were essentially ineffective. However, every attack Ymir unleashed was devastating to the orcs. Her sharp greatsword cleaved the charging orc in two, the skulls shattering under her iron feet, the sounds of bones breaking, screams, and roars creating a symphony that echoed through the dark jungle. The bloody mist spread, forming a terrifying and chilling scene! And Ymir, standing in the swamp of flesh, carrying her greatsword, became the protagonist of this spectacle…

"Hmph hmph hmph!" Suddenly, a series of urgent groans came from behind the orcs. Before the orcs could react, spears flashed with a cold light and pierced their bodies. The orcs, who had been knocked away by the boars, flew through the air like tattered sacks before falling to the ground in a flailing manner.

With the goblin knights flanking and intercepting them, these hundreds of "elite" orcs completely lost their hope of escape and were soon annihilated under the suppression of the goblin knights and Ymir.

"Are the orcs in Mordor really this pathetic?" The goblin knights asked weakly after pondering for a long time, staring at the mess of orc corpses on the ground.

"Heavens know! By the Dragon God! These guys are utterly rotten! They're like they've never had any training, charging in like a complete mess! I really don't understand how trashy the southern human kingdoms must be to get so easily beaten by these scum!" Ymir complained about the pathetic fighting strength of these so-called elite orcs while marveling at the pitiful combat power of the southern human kingdoms. "General Ymir, what do we do now that we're down here?" The goblin knights spread their hands, indicating they couldn't answer that question, but that didn't stop them from focusing on their target and mission.

“Let’s find other orc groups! We can’t let them get to Windhelm Town like this! We have to hold them off until the Kingdom’s army arrives to help!” Ymir thought for a moment.

“Then let’s go first… Wait! General, you should look at the sky!” The goblin knights looked up in surprise and saw a red column of smoke rising straight up into the sky through the dense canopy.

"That's the evacuation signal! The kingdom's reinforcements have arrived! Fellow countrymen, our mission is complete!" Ymir beamed with joy. When he saw the signal he had agreed upon with Ismir, he knew that Windhelm had found its greatest backer!

……

"Greetings, General Reno! I welcome you in the name of Lord Ismir, Lord of Windhelm. Thank goodness the Kingdom still remembers our pioneering territory!" Ismir said happily, shaking Reno's hand.

"Greetings, Your Excellency Lord Ismir! I have come on behalf of His Majesty the King to offer you support!" With that, Renault stepped aside, revealing rows of soldiers behind him.

“Three hundred Dovenian heavy swordsmen and two hundred Battanian archers! No orc can cross that line!” Renault said confidently, his eyes filled with trust in the kingdom’s soldiers.

"Thank you so much! To be honest, I really had no idea what to do if you hadn't come!" Ismir sighed.

"It can't be that bad... Hmm? Your soldiers?" Renault then realized that Ismir's forces were reduced to a ragtag bunch; the once-remarkable half-giant and the goblin knights were nowhere to be seen. A chill ran down Renault's spine. What the hell? Before the war even officially began, a lord had already wiped out most of his forces?

“I sent them to slow down the orcs’ march, and I’ve already signaled them to withdraw!” Ismir explained.

"Oh, I see!" Renault drawled out his words. After all, if Ismir really gave up all of these troops, Renault would definitely not give Ismir any command in this battle!

"By the way, let's hurry into the city! Let the soldiers rest first!" Ismir invited Reno, if Windhelm could even be considered a city...

In the past, Roland would have definitely tried every means to increase the population of Ismir and build it into a town. However, since Roland's system update, the main quest has also changed. The original main quest was directly canceled, so Roland's need for a town is not so urgent now. As for the new main quest, it is to rebuild Lagrange City! This is also why Roland is so eager to turn his attention to the East.

"Alright! Battanian archers, go into the city and set up defenses! You all help reinforce the city's defenses! Dovenian swordsmen, dig trenches outside the city!" Renault ignored Ismir's words and turned to give the order.

“We need to focus on defense and cover; we’re not the ones in this fight!” Renault shook his head at Ismir, clearly intending to turn this place into a makeshift fortress, mainly for the purpose of playing the role of a tortoise.
