Mage towers provide a massive amount of magic power to the mages stationed within, and each mage tower with a sage residing there is a true human artillery platform! While forbidden spells can't be thrown around like firecrackers, endless refills of war magic are still possible! Most importantly, mage towers can be collected and moved by their owners! That's why Roland often saw those great sages in the Lord of the Rings games who would throw out mage towers at the drop of a hat and transform into artillery platforms, running all over the world.
