Chapter 500 The Source of Long Lake
"Your Highness, if I'm not mistaken, it should be at Long Lake," Renault said briefly.
"Long Lake? How is that possible?" Roland's first reaction was disbelief, after all, Long Lake was quite far from here.
“I also thought it was impossible, but it turns out to be the most likely possibility. Otherwise, there’s no way to explain the range of influence that’s comparable to a forbidden spell. Only the Long Lake can radiate to all the surrounding kingdoms… and more importantly, it spreads through water…” Renault said solemnly.
"Hiss!" Roland gasped. Having made a contribution to global warming, he had to admit that Renault was right. Spreading plagues through water was entirely possible, and coincidentally, Lake Long connected several kingdoms...
"Damn it, does that mean my people are drinking poison every day?" Roland's eyes almost popped out of their sockets.
“In a sense, that’s true.” Renault shrugged.
"No, we have to find the source and purify it quickly. I don't know if other kingdoms will be affected if this continues, but Lagrang is definitely doomed." Roland anxiously pulled Doss out from under the table and prepared to rush out.
"Wait! Your Highness, calm down!" Renault, Omsk Caslo, and the others persuaded Roland to calm down.
“A wise man avoids dangerous situations; let’s go this time!” Caslo whispered.
“I am the king, I have an obligation and I should go.” Roland shook his head.
“The kingdom has no heir yet!” Omsk walked over and shook King Roland’s shoulder hard to calm him down.
“You can’t get hurt. Without you… what good would it do if we successfully defeated the plague?” Renault said solemnly.
"Don't worry, the few of us will go together, there won't be any problems. Even the Ringwraiths will have to avoid us." Omske gave a mysterious smile.
"Well... alright." Roland thought for a moment and finally compromised. After all, he could no longer be as willful as before after becoming king. Now he represented the interests of a group, and even if he remained indifferent, others would push him forward.
After leaving, Omske acted swiftly, issuing a military order to summon Yunfeng to join him. He also had Caslo gather all the knights (the knightly order was brought along to protect spellcaster units in case of encounters with orcs or other dark forces) and priests. Ajax was left behind to guard the home, while Reno marched north with them. Feeling uneasy, Omske directly targeted Adile and Radil. Thus, a massive army of pure professional warriors assembled in the North. Perhaps their numbers weren't quite awe-inspiring, but their quality was definitely sufficient. How terrifying was a knightly order led by two heroes and a fourth-tier paladin commander? Not to mention that Caslo had also summoned all the sky knights to assist them. With this kind of force, one might believe they were going to destroy a nation.
……
“Girl, what do you mean by them…” Roland looked at Nyx, hesitating to speak.
"Don't worry, they'll be fine. Even if something unexpected happens... I'm afraid they'll cause a disaster for the other side." Nyx looked at Roland, somewhat amused and exasperated. Was this the legendary case of being too concerned to think straight? My dear Roland, do you want to hear what you're saying? One dragon rider general, three level six warriors, a hundred-man knight order, several air knights, plus a small group of healers... Even Sauron would shake his head at this lineup. Okay, he should be worried about the other side getting psychologically traumatized.
“That makes sense, but I’m still a little worried. After all, the one who can release such a plague is no small fry. Should we send the Royal Guards out to help them?” Roland pondered, rubbing his chin.
“…” Nyx’s eye twitched. “Why don’t we raise an army and take down the Gambada Fortress? It would be a shame if we didn’t do something with all these troops we’ve sent.”
……
"Renault, are you sure? What if this thing isn't in Long Lake?" Yun Feng frowned. "Fine, then I choose to wait to die." Renault rolled his eyes in annoyance. After all, everyone had practically turned the entire city of Jiliu upside down and hadn't found anything unusual. If it wasn't in Long Lake... Renault shuddered. That would truly be a helpless situation with no choice but to tough it out.
"Don't jinx it." Omske patted Yunfeng on the shoulder and shook his head.
"Sigh, I'm getting old and useless!" Adile coughed a few times and couldn't help but sigh.
“Lake Chang is so big…” Old man Radil stroked his long beard and fell into deep thought.
“Even if it’s really in Long Lake, it’ll be hard for us to find!” Radil sighed.
“We need help,” Caslow said knowingly.
“But Swiftstream City can’t give us anything anymore, Dragon God! You don’t want those iron cans (Royal Guards) to come, do you? Forgive my bluntness, but they can’t do anything except sink to the bottom.” Radil waved his hand at Caslo. If there were any aid available, they would have brought them over long ago. Everyone who could help was here.
"No! There are also elves!" Caslo exclaimed excitedly, his eyes narrowing.
"Yeah, those wood elves are still lying there waiting to die. Anyway, the plague can't kill them; they'll just treat it like a cold." Yunfeng shrugged.
"Who said there's only one group of elves!" Caslo shook his head with a chuckle. It seems that a certain group of elves spends all their time burrowing underground and playing invisible, staying indoors and ignoring the world, which has led everyone to subconsciously overlook them.
"Go to Delwin to find Prince Verway?" Omske was taken aback for a moment, then realized what was going on.
"Pfft!" Renault almost choked on his own saliva. Just like the grassland elves... how many legions does the grassland elf king have?
"It must be the Star Elves of Singrey!" Yun Feng guessed. After all, besides Thranduil's Woodland Kingdom, there were only two other elven groups: the Valwy and the Eovia. Obviously, the grassland elves' pitiful strength... Although there was a lucky sixth-tier Valwy holding things together, he obviously couldn't help much.
“Don’t forget, Iovia is a sixth-tier hunter, and Peter Gro is a Star Dragon Knight! These two can be of help; at least they both have formidable mental strength.” Caslo also realized this, since spatial attribute and dragon knight mental strength are stronger than fire attribute Valway’s, so they are perfectly capable of being external aids.
“The problem is, how do we find them?” Omske spread his hands.
"..." All eyes turned to Omsk, and then to Caslo.
“Sorry.” Omske shrugged apologetically.
"You understand nonsense literature." Renault patted the guy's shoulder armor earnestly, realizing for the first time how unique this guy's thinking was.
"Then I'll go find them now. It'll take a while to fly there. See you at the shore of Long Lake!" Caslo waved his hand, summoned his dragon, and flew south, while the others continued north.
