Chapter 485 The King's Scream
Chapter 485 The King's Scream
"Ouch!" Roland screamed as he jumped up to dodge Adilena's waving wooden sword.
Roland didn't even need to look to know that his waist, hips, and back must be covered in bruises. The worst part was that Roland couldn't block them at all. It was the kind of situation where you clearly know that someone is going to attack you, your eyes see it, your brain reacts, but your body just can't move.
"You're too ruthless!" Roland cried out as he jumped to dodge, the heavy lead weights and protective gear making his already clumsy movements even more awkward.
"Damn it!" Roland, enraged by the blow, swung his sword back and slammed the heavy blade into Adile's head.
"Clang!" Adile steadily blocked Roland's attack. Roland, who had failed to achieve anything, felt a sinking feeling in his heart and immediately flew back to guard against Adile's next counterattack.
"Well done! You're getting the hang of it!" This time, Adile didn't rush in, but instead leaned on his sword and praised him.
"You've been beaten for days, you should have learned your lesson by now." Roland's face turned green.
"Hahaha! Don't say that, Your Highness, your progress is still very fast!" Adile laughed.
"..." Roland's hands clenched. "Can't you even speak properly?! What do you mean by 'improving quickly'? Do you think I'll beat you up if you don't react fast enough?"
“Then we can proceed to the next training session.” Adile smiled mysteriously.
"?" Roland felt a chill run down his spine.
“Then let’s train the spikes next!” Adile said seriously.
"Stab?" Roland brandished his wooden sword, making a gesture.
"You have to learn this?!" Roland was so shocked that he almost thought he had found a fake teacher.
“Of course! To be honest, the tutor who taught you the basics should be hanged! I have never seen anyone with such poor basics as you!” Adile sighed.
“Thrusting, though simple and unadorned, is indeed the most lethal attack method! Compared to slashing, the trajectory of a thrust is more agile and unpredictable, making it impossible to defend against! The most crucial thing is to be steady. When thrusting, you must be steady, thrusting wherever you want, and changing direction at any time to achieve the purpose of attacking the enemy's vital points.” Adile shook his head.
“Come on, practice dodging thrusts first! This training will help you survive a straight attack!” Adile said calmly, raising his sword.
……
"what!"
"what!"
"Ow!"
“Ah, it hurts!”
"Gan!"
"My leg! Ah! My head! No! My crotch..."
Roland, kneeling on the ground, was almost in tears. That old bastard Adile, he not only lost his own but also wanted to cripple others. That was a fatal blow! If Roland hadn't dodged quickly, Kunkun would have been in grave danger by now.
“Stand up, you’re a man! Are you going to go to the battlefield and tell the orcs, ‘Hey buddy, don’t hit me in the groin!’” Adile mocked, mimicking a woman’s voice.
"Damn it!" Roland scrambled to his feet and launched an attack on Adile. "You're a man! Come on! Attack me! Come on! Show your manly spirit!" Adile stabbed Roland, knocking him to the ground.
"Huff huff~" Roland, panting heavily, got up, gripped his sword with both hands, and charged towards Adile using the "Pig Charge" technique.
"A foolish decision. Only those with no other choice on the battlefield would make such a desperate gamble!" Adile frowned, then slightly turned his body. Roland, whose momentum was too great, floated past Adile, and even turned to look at him. How to put it? Three parts helplessness, two parts speechlessness, and five parts indifference?
"Splat!" Adile had only stretched out one leg when Roland was already ten meters away.
"Heh heh heh~" This time Roland didn't get up, but rolled over and lay on his back on the grass, enjoying the sunshine.
"What was I thinking, coming to training?" Roland almost cried. These past few nights, Nyx had been tenderly applying ointment and massaging Roland's body, her eyes filled with worry and resentment as she looked at the bruises all over Roland's body.
To earn the title that both Li Lao Er and Zhu Lao Si possessed—Emperor on Horseback—Roland went to great lengths (his entire body was covered in bruises), tirelessly seeking out torture every day.
Adile tapped his pipe, happily finishing a bowl. He knew that although Roland was all talk and no action, he would still come. Despite being thoroughly beaten by him these past few days, Roland's desire to become stronger remained unchanged, and he would come to be tortured again the next day, dragging his battered body.
……
Two flowers bloom, one branch each.
Roland was getting relentlessly beaten by Adile, and Apophis Breo's side wasn't faring much better. Although they hadn't suffered any casualties yet (a miracle, to say the least), over a dozen members of their team had already fallen. The Shadow Spiders were just the appetizer; the Jumping Claw Poison Spiders that appeared later were what truly gave Apophis Breo a headache. Although small in size and with potent venom, the powerful paralyzing ability of their venom was enough to make Apophis Breo curse them and their ancestors for generations. After losing over a dozen men, Apophis Breo was truly enraged.
When the King's Knights' battle flames illuminated the road ahead, Apophis Breo had already decided to abandon all martial ethics.
"Boom!" A battle aura blade was swung out, accompanied by the sound of battle aura exploding, and the flying fire-type battle aura flames quickly ignited the surrounding spider webs.
"Whoosh!" A poisonous spider that had just leaped up to attack the Knight of the Empire was shriveled up by the fire-type battle aura protecting its body.
"Whoosh!" Something suddenly appeared and struck the King's Knight with a sword, regardless of whether it was a monster or a beast. If one strike didn't kill, he would strike again.
Driven by the spirits of his ancestors, Apophis Breo charged westward headlong, oblivious to everything around him. His bloodthirsty horde, including Apophis Breo, were now ready to pounce on any dragon that stood in their way and devour it...
Caslo had barely landed when he was met with a "warm welcome." When a dozen knightly swords and lances came slashing at him, Caslo even thought that Apophis Breo had led a rebellion. But after their lances were deflected by the membranes on the wings of the Storm Dragon Kaldor, the bloodthirsty army finally stopped.
"By the Dragon God! What's wrong with you? You charge at the dragon without even looking at it?" Caslo asked the knight, who had been thrown back by the wind along with his horse, in shock.
The knight struggled to his feet, then quickly helped his horse up. He stared blankly at Caslo, the vacant look in his eyes breaking Caslo's heart.
"Kill! Kill! Kill!" Apophis Breo charged forward relentlessly, sword in hand.
"I'll kill your mother!" Caslo cursed as he kicked Apophis Breo to the ground.
"Hey! Are you awake now?" Caslo helped up Apophis Breo, whose eyes were red, and shook him hard.
"Hoo-hoo—" And this guy actually fell asleep!
"Thump!" Before Caslo could say anything, a whole bunch of people sprawled out, their deafening snores making Caslo question his existence.
