Chapter 452 The Wrath of the Dragon!
"Doss? You're hungry again! Holy crap! You're an oviparous animal, not a mammal! Ah! Let go!" Roland screamed, his shrill voice making even Verway turn his head.
"What's going on?" Caslo rushed over.
Omsk didn't speak, but instead drew half of his knight's sword.
Roland had no time to care about anyone else. He quickly lifted his plate armor and threw it aside haphazardly. Only then did everyone realize that Doss was hanging from Roland's chest, and Roland was grimacing in pain.
"Oh! Dragon God above!" Roland grabbed Doss and threw him out despite the excruciating pain. Doss gracefully rolled in the air and then spread his wide wings and flew above Roland's head.
"Aww!" came Dos's shrill voice.
"..." Everyone's eyes twitched, and they all turned their heads away.
"Holy crap! Doss, are you crazy?" Roland gasped as he tossed the jerky to Doss.
"You're really good at naming things!" Caslo listened helplessly as Roland kept calling him Doss, a wild grin spreading across his face.
"What's wrong?" Roland rubbed his chest as he picked up the scattered armor. He realized that he could remove the armor so quickly! Before, with Nyx's help, it would take him a long time to remove the heavy armor. Just now, he removed the armor by himself in no time. Sure enough, pressure can ignite motivation.
“Ajax has been nagging me for a long time, saying that you pronounced the dragon’s name exactly the same as her brother’s…” Caslo shook his head with a wry smile, after all, Ajax Anthony’s brother was named Dos Anthony.
"Pfft!" Roland had just grabbed the water pouch when he spat it out.
“Your Highness…” Caslo looked helplessly at Roland, who was spitting water from his nostrils.
"It's nothing!" Roland waved his hand. He didn't know why he had just associated the man with sunglasses with Ajax. Damn, he was trying to break out of Middle-earth!
"My goddess! You're an adult now, don't act like a child!" Vervier frowned, trying to figure out if coming out with Roland was a mistake. This guy couldn't even take care of himself and the dragon, it was hard to believe him.
"Sorry! That was an accident!" Roland shook his head, his eyes watering from choking on water.
"Be careful, we've already left the territory of the Lagrang Kingdom! We could be attacked at any moment," Omsk shouted a warning to the group.
……
"Your knights are very elite!" Verway exclaimed sincerely.
“Of course, they always have been!” Roland puffed out his chest proudly.
"What a pity we had such an unreliable king!" Verwy shook his head with a look of regret.
“You know how to talk!” Roland shrugged. Although Verway’s words were harsh, he was indeed a half-baked commander.
“Your courage is commendable! At least as a king, you are willing to use your sword to pave the way for your people! In this respect, you are a qualified king!” Verway said solemnly. “There are no cowards in Lagrange!” Roland, just like the young man who had just arrived in Middle-earth, straightened his chest and spoke the maxim of the Lagrange knights.
"Put away your arrogance and live on... Darkness is approaching, and the Alliance... is no longer the same Alliance!" Verway sighed, only able to remind Roland not to trust this corrupt and riddled-with-holes Alliance.
“In fact, I know the situation better than you do. I know that darkness has been infiltrating Gondor and Rohan, but what does that have to do with the North? The North is already stained with the blood of the Northmen! Whether they are elves, dwarves or men!” Roland murmured.
“I am powerless, after all, the steppe elves… heh!” Verway rode on his horse with a self-deprecating smile on his lips. The steppe elves had long since died out, and only small tribes like his own wandered the world of Middle-earth.
"I will continue to fight, whether for the survival of my people or to protect her smile!" The image of the blonde beauty appeared in Roland's eyes. In the howling north wind, Roland's jet-black hair frosted over.
"Alas... the frequent attacks by the Dongyi people are sending a signal that we may be facing a three-pronged attack!" Verway sighed melancholically.
“Don’t be so pessimistic. The tentacles of darkness aren’t that rampant yet. They still have their concerns! Sauron will at least stay in his lair for several more decades!” Roland’s eyes flashed with a cold light.
"Shh! Quiet down, don't mention that taboo name, he'll sense it!" Verway quickly stopped them.
"..." Roland glanced at the timid Verway. He was just a demigod who hadn't recovered yet. It would be decades before he was able to take action.
"Let's deal with this first. We can't just sit by and watch the Swan Knights' organization be destroyed!" Verway changed the subject. He clearly knew that the knightly order needed at least a minimum organizational structure to exert its terrifying power. Obviously, if this group of knights was stuck here, the entire allied army would lose a knightly order. Verway didn't believe that the Swan Knights could still muster 20 reserve knights!
"What do you think I'm doing?" Roland rolled his eyes. Even at the end of the Third Era, the fighting power of a Square Banner Knights Order (a hundred-man knight order) was a strategic force. In the Battle of Pelennor Plains, these knights were the true backbone of the allied forces!
"We need to hurry, it's snowing heavily, they can't hold out much longer!" Roland suddenly looked up at the heavy snow falling from the sky, his face somewhat gloomy.
“It seems so… those poor people are sad!” Omske sighed.
“Don’t worry, those chariot warriors will feel the wrath of the dragon! The wrath of the Lagrange Dragon!” Caslo narrowed his eyes.
……
"Boss, I'm starving..." A swan knight leaned weakly against a tree stump.
"Just bear with it, we can eat in a little while! If you really can't, drink some hot water first!" Holfa sighed helplessly.
"How could this be!" Holfa stared at the snow-capped mountains in bewilderment.
They were surrounded, but worse than being surrounded, they ran in panic and ended up in a dead-end valley. There were cliffs on both sides and a winding valley in front of them. They were blocked by chariots and civilians using heavy crossbows. The heavy crossbows, originally used for siege warfare and anti-aircraft defense, were surprisingly effective at firing at infantry in open field battles! Even knights dared not face them directly!
Fortunately, the valley was winding and deep inside, otherwise the chariot people's heavy crossbows would have already been covering them.
"We don't have much hay left for our warhorses; this is all we can gather." A few bundles of hay collected in the valley were pulled out; this meager amount of hay was needed to supply all their horses.
"Maybe we have to fight them!" Holfa muttered to himself.
