Chapter 322: Spreading falsehoods
"What? Human cavalry?" The instinctive reaction of most tribal chiefs upon learning of the return of humans to the North was to prepare for migration to avoid the human cavalry.
"Huh? Five hundred human cavalry? Tell your chieftain we'll send troops!" Upon hearing that there were only five hundred men, the chieftain's face instantly stopped blushing, and he calmed down.
……
"Five hundred fully armed humans?"
"Damn it! Do these southern scum think this is the south? Five hundred men and they dare to cause trouble!" A half-orc lord laughed in anger.
"Our tribe is sending five hundred warriors! We need to teach them a lesson! These humans are simply lawless!"
……
"Five hundred human infantrymen? Good heavens! That's the funniest joke I've ever heard! Do they think our tribe's warriors are carrying tree branches?"
"Our tribe will send one hundred warriors! We will assemble at the end of the Pan-Asian Creek within the specified time!"
……
"Five hundred human light infantry? They're asking for death! How dare they! If it were the northern cavalry of humans, I would have led my people north without hesitation. Now even human light infantry dare to provoke us orcs?"
……
"Five hundred armed civilians? Are you serious? Did they send us equipment because they see how hard we're living?" The chieftain of a small tribe burst into laughter.
Regardless, the orc tribes in the southern part of the northern wasteland all knew that a human force had entered the area. And through word of mouth among the orc tribes, Omske's force, which had been a fully armed cavalry regiment of five hundred men, was reduced to a mere hundred armed civilians. (That's ridiculous...)
While Omske was still leading his soldiers in search of the orc tribes, the orc tribes throughout the southern part of the North sent their warriors to meet at Pan-Asian Creek, at the foot of the northern mountains.
……
"By the Dragon God! You've come a long way..." Ajax sighed and dismounted from the dragon, looking at the travel-worn group. As for the Horin Knights, they were still rushing dozens of miles away...
"General Ajax? What instructions did His Highness bring?" Omske removed his heavy helmet, sweat from the long march streaming down his temples.
It took Ajax a lot of effort to find Omsk and his group. If it weren't for the dragons' superb eyesight and the fact that Omsk and his group made quite a commotion, Ajax would never have been able to find this cavalry unit.
“His Highness said you should go all out. Here are the supplies you need!” Ajax handed over the ring Roland had given her.
"Does Your Highness have any other requests?" Omske asked.
“His Highness didn’t say, but it seems like you could turn the sky upside down in the North without any problem!” Ajax tilted her head and thought about it in a cute way.
"Thank you very much. Please be careful on your way back..." Omske nodded knowingly. Since His Highness had no other requests and supported his actions, he had a plan for his next move. At the very least, this battle would deter those orcs from venturing south for thirty years!
"Go back? Why go back? His Highness has ordered you to obey His Majesty, and you now have a dragon rider under your command!" Ajax blinked playfully.
"Thank you so much, Your Highness! Now I'm much more confident in my actions!" Omske was momentarily stunned, then exclaimed excitedly. After all, the Northern Orcs, these worthless creatures, shouldn't have anything as prestigious as Sky Knights, but even if they did, it wouldn't matter. One Dragon Knight would be enough to completely dominate the skies of the entire Northern Territory! After all, Dragon Knights ruling the skies and Paladins dominating the land was no joke.
"By the way! Your Majesty, when I came here, I noticed that many orc tribes in the west were marching towards one place... Has your whereabouts been exposed?" Ajax asked worriedly. She hadn't paid attention to these orc troops because she was in a hurry to find Omske and the others, but now she regretted it. After all, there were so many targets... If Roland knew, he would definitely sigh with regret. She didn't even get to seize the opportunity of the flying dog catching fries. Those were all battle merits and experience!
"Marching? The orcs are assembling an army?" Omske was taken aback, but then he figured it out. Perhaps the survivors of the breached tribes had brought the news to other tribes, and the orcs in the entire North decided to assemble a coalition to wipe out the humans because they felt the danger of losing one another.
Although it was just Omske's own conjecture, it was very close to the truth. However, the orcs did not want to eliminate this human force because of any sense of impending doom. It was simply because of misinformation that the orcs mistakenly believed that this human force was a group of armed farmers who had just put down their hoes.
"What should we do? Should we attack them while they're still established?" Ajax suggested.
“Although doing this would greatly kill the orcs, it’s not what I want…” Omsk smiled as he looked at Ajax.
Ajax, Lavian, and Baldr were all stunned for a moment, then stared at Omske with disbelief. It seemed that this hero had a bigger appetite than anyone had imagined!
"You're going to eat them?" Ravian was so shocked he forgot to use honorifics.
"Isn't this a bit too radical?" Ajax frowned.
“The risk is too great, Your Majesty!” Even Bader, who had always supported Omske’s brutal policies, advised against it.
“I have no intention of confronting them head-on! Don’t forget we have a Dragon Knight!” Omske pointed at Ajax and smiled coldly.
“Hmm?” Ajax raised an eyebrow and immediately understood Omske’s idea.
"A forbidden spell!" Ravian's eyes lit up.
Fire-based wide-range forbidden spells were like fish in water on this vast northern wasteland! Coupled with the grasslands gradually drying out after autumn... even Baldr, who wished he could slaughter the orcs with a 360-degree Thomas Spin, felt it was cruel. With this forbidden spell, it was uncertain whether the Lagrang soldiers could defeat these orcs, and even how many orcs in densely packed positions would survive...
"The problem is how do we lure them together?" Ajax asked. After all, even the largest fire-type forbidden spell can only cover tens of thousands of square meters at most, but thousands of orcs wouldn't be stupid enough to gather together and wait for the dragon rider to cast a forbidden spell on them.
“This is our mission!” Omske smiled mysteriously.
“A feigned defeat!” Ravian had a vague idea of what was going on. As the commander with the highest military skills in the Principality of Nyx, his judgment was quite accurate.
“We need another big victory! We’ll have to fight the orcs so they can only band together for warmth!” Omsk added with a cold laugh.
"In the end, I'll use a forbidden spell to send them to meet the Dragon God?" Ajax asked.
"Stop it, they don't deserve it!" Omske spat.
Only Baldr quietly moved a few steps away from the three men. These three freaks had decided the future fate of these orcs with just a few words, and Baldr saw no hope of defeat whatsoever, given the orcs' intelligence...
