Chapter 305, The Ninth Ringwraith

Chapter 305 The Ninth Ringwraith
"I will die!" The soul fire in Kehamur's empty eye sockets leaped wildly as the eight deadly magic arrows whistled towards him, and he was powerless to stop this deadly attack.

A deep sigh, like the final echo of a century, a king's solo, the final chapter of a kingdom, resounded.

A necromantic lord, clad in a black cloak, wearing a twisted crown of thorns, and wielding a blade of the dead, slowly appeared before the crowd, riding a nightmare. He seemed to have come from the void, appearing silently in a certain place.

"Tear~" He gently pulled open the scabbard of the Blade of the Dead in his hand. The once kingly sword had become obscure and evil under the erosion of time and darkness. Chaotic dark energy mixed with specks of silver light wrapped around the blade...

"Stop here!" he sighed softly.

A distorted and chaotic energy field appeared before the remaining Ringwraiths and the Black Knight, yet within the distorted chaos lay a power of supreme rules.

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom~" Eight powerful explosions rang out in succession, and eight straight and slender demon-piercing arrows were firmly nailed to the energy field, but they were blocked by an invisible aura and could not advance an inch.

Behind the energy field, Khammur's soul fire seemed to skip a beat and then came to a halt. He twisted his withered neck and looked with lingering fear at the eight Demon-Slaying Arrows that had fallen to the ground due to their depleted energy.

"Who goes there?" Ajax demanded, brandishing her gun.

"Watch out! They're up to no good!" Caslo stepped forward and shielded Ajax behind him.

"Alas... Ninth Ringwraith—Uvatha!" The Ringwraith, resembling a skeleton, stood silently, sword in hand. His cloak billowed behind him without wind, and the protective battle aura surrounding him flickered in and out of existence. He stood there ethereally, as if in another world.

"Another one!" The veins on Ajax's pretty face were already bulging.

“This is going to be tough… Uvathar, the Ninth Ring Spirit, represents the Ninth Ring—Nothingness! He was once a space-type hero and the king of the Northern Human Kingdom!” Caslo said as he began to consider his escape route.

“Don’t be afraid, two dragon riders…” Uvasa stood there, without opening his mouth, but his ethereal voice came from the void.

"You are not yet my match! Killing you will not even disturb your dragons. If you don't believe me, look around you... Grow up! I hope you can fight me as dragon rider commanders!" Uvasa's voice was full of pride.

"Hmm!" Ajax and Caslo turned their heads to look around and realized that the space around them had been torn apart inch by inch. The terrifying spatial rifts made their hearts tremble. If they were to explode, the two of them would surely die without a trace.

"Step back! You can't keep these people here!" Uvasa looked at the two dragon riders and the dragons behind them, casually used a burst of battle energy to drag the half-crippled Lydalias up and pulled all the black knights and Ringwraiths behind him.

"Aren't you afraid?" The threat in Caslo's tone was obvious to even a fool, but standing in front of the war fortress, he still had the right to say so.

"Hahaha! A war fortress? What can it do to me?" Uvasa laughed wildly. As a former space hero, he certainly had the courage and confidence to say such a thing! The powerful Lulong Fortress had no spatial barrier, its defense against spatial systems was zero, and it had no good way to counter spatial systems.

"Let's go, let's leave it at that this time!" Uvasa's soul fire flickered, and he reached out to pick up Lydalias's mangled body and straddled his nightmare.

As a portal slowly opened, the Black Knights retreated rhythmically into it, while the other Ringwraiths stood guard at the portal, weapons in hand.

……

"Why?" Ajax looked at Caslow in confusion. She didn't understand why Uvassa could have killed the two of them when they were off guard, but he didn't.

“Perhaps because…” Caslo was organizing his thoughts. “Because I am also a knight! Both then and now!” Uvasa looked up at the two of them as if sensing something, blue soul flames flickering in his empty pupils.

"Ok?"

“It is a knight’s virtue not to lay a hand on the weak! Unfortunately, I am now a Ringwraith!” Uvasar’s voice seemed to be full of self-mockery.

"Grow up! I hope that when we meet again in the future, you will have grown to the point where I have to take action! Hahaha!" Uvasa shrieked wildly, and his figure disappeared into the spatial vortex. Only his voice lingered in the place for a long time.

……

"The Ninth Ringwraith? Uvathar! That thing's still alive?" Renault rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on. After hearing the two dragon riders' stories, he no longer wanted to be the garrison commander of Lulong Fortress...

"This is terrible! A spatial Ringwraith is stationed in Dolgodor! Nobody's going to have a good time now?" Apophis Breo said with a headache.

"Let's keep a close watch on this place for the next few days! We'll discuss everything when His Highness returns!" Caslo suggested.

“Yes! And that Ringwraith doesn’t seem like a bad guy to me…” Ajax muttered.

“Whether he’s a bad person or not, we can’t place our hopes on others! After all, he has already joined Sauron! He is darkness! He is the Ringwraiths!” Reno shook his head.

"Apophis! Go and arrange for General Luke and General Merck, along with their soldiers, to clean up the battlefield! Bring back all the brothers' bodies!" Renault sighed and continued making the arrangements.

“Okay, no problem!” Before Apophis Breo could speak, Merck Leopold and Luke Leopold both agreed.

“We brought them here; they are all citizens of the Empire. We can’t just let them bury their bones in the wilderness!” Luke’s eyes reddened.

"There are too many corpses... we don't have time to properly collect them!" Caslo shook his head.

"Ajax, come help me dig some big pits outside the city!" Caslo shook his head. There was no time to carefully bury these fallen brothers, but giving them a proper burial was still no problem.

“Oh…” Ajax nodded understandingly, and she and Caslo rode the dragon and flew out of the city.

……

"Damn it! I'm back! What happened?" Roland kicked open the huge, heavy city gate a crack, then squeezed in, even making the guards who were preparing to open the gate widen their eyes. However, seeing Roland's furious expression, they decided to shut up.

“Darling…” Nyx, who had just come out, could no longer hold back when she saw the figure she had been longing for appear before her. Ignoring the blood, dirt and dust on Roland’s body, she ran up to him in a few steps.

"Waaah..." Nix, buried in Roland's arms, let out a pitiful sob and shed crystal tears.

I couldn't keep going yesterday, so I took a break. I'm resuming updates today.
