The Lord of the Rings: Lords of Middle-earth.

Chapter 280 Dragon Knight General Ajax

"Congratulations, host, on successfully completing the mission: Recapture Moria! Reward: 1 Dragon Knight with random attributes. Note: The Dragon Knight will come to your side at an appropriate time."

Roland, rubbing his sleepy eyes after waking up, suddenly woke up from this message and was wide awake... Hehehe! Speaking of Dragon Knights, our Roland is wide awake now! He's instantly full of energy!

"The rewards have been distributed? This damn system is finally a little more reliable! But from another perspective, the remaining enemies of Moria have been wiped out... I just wonder what the dragon riders will be like this time, after all, there are female dragon riders in the empire..." Roland thought to himself.

……

"My God! By the Dragon God! Why are we the ones out hunting?" A group of Lagrange City Guards, carrying crossbows, groped their way through the valley with displeasure. The reason was this: Omske and Caslo decided to improve everyone's meals and drew lots to decide who would go and get the ingredients. As a result, this group of unlucky Lagrange City Guards tragically drew the "best lot"!

"Damn it! Those Lordaeron rangers are damned! I can almost see their smirking faces now!" the city guards complained, but their vigilance did not lessen at all. After all, they were unfamiliar with the area, and besides, it was close to the Misty Mountains. Who knew if there were any scattered orc soldiers around?

"Pfft!" The sound of a bowstring vibrating rang out, and soon a city guard came out carrying a wild rabbit.

"Wow! So fat? Rabbits are really plump in the summer! How fat will they be in the fall?" The city guard grabbed the rabbit's ears and shook it a few times, finding that the thing weighed at least seven or eight pounds!

"Stop chatting! Keep hunting! If you really have no prey, go catch a few fish from the river!" The city guard captains all spoke up. If they were allowed to continue chatting, who knows what kind of conversation would turn out like? They probably wouldn't even have enough prey by tomorrow.

"Huh? It's getting dark?" a soldier asked, looking at the shadows on the ground. Just a moment ago the sun was shining brightly, how come it's suddenly dark?
"Hide! Dragon! It's a dragon!" someone suddenly roared, a shout that made everyone's hearts tighten! Everyone's gaze followed the sound as it rose higher...

"Shit! A dragon! It's a dragon! Scatter and hide! Quickly evacuate this area! Is this dragon territory?" Although the city guards were panicked, they didn't lose their composure. They retreated into the woods in an orderly fashion, trying to minimize their presence...

"Damn it! It's coming for us! Oh! Dragon God above! Damn it! Put down your flag! Are you trying to kill everyone?" Suddenly, a squad leader turned around and saw a red flag with a golden dragon fluttering in the wind... This thing appearing on dragon territory was no less arrogant than slapping a dragon in the face and spitting on him! After all, dragons have a strong sense of territory! Normally, dragons would ignore city guards passing through their territory like ants, since humans wouldn't bother with ants. But carrying a flag into dragon territory was tantamount to declaring war and seizing land. Dragons would be furious and kill any ant that dared to desecrate their territory and authority! As the saying goes, "I destroy you, what does it have to do with you?"

"Run! Split up and run! Every last one alive counts!"

"All officers of squad leader rank and above, step forward! We will engage the unknown dragons on the spot! Draw their attention!" the city guard captains shouted, their eyes filled with fighting spirit! They feared no death, only betrayal and oblivion...

"Fire!" A sparse barrage of arrows shot out, but to no avail... their pitiful height didn't even reach the dragon's exhaust.

"Kill!" Several squad leaders drew their longswords and charged forward!

"Boom!" The dragon's heavy body crashed to the ground, and soon it folded its wings and quietly watched the "ants" below.

“Aha! Renoir, have we arrived? Where is the Imperial flag? You just saw it? Now it’s gone?” A clear female voice rang out from the dragon’s back.

"Oh? Some soldiers down there? They attacked you? Oh! Please don't be angry, we must have scared them! You are a noble Blazing Winged Fire Dragon!" The soft, sweet female voice was incredibly soothing, like a gentle breeze. "Hello, I'm from Lagrang..." The girl who had just jumped off the dragon's back was stunned. She even rubbed her eyes in disbelief. What was this? Thin tin cans, the exclusive soldiers of the Imperial capital? But this type of soldier should have disappeared after the fall of the capital, right? How did they get here?

Unbeknownst to the girl, the captain of the Lagrange City Guard, who had initially resolved to die, was utterly stunned upon seeing the familiar dragon saddle on the giant dragon opposite him and the genuine dragon armor worn by the girl leaping from its back! What the hell?! The kingdom's second dragon knight? How is that possible! Two dragon knights are enough for the Lagrange Kingdom to forcibly restore its imperial title! After all, two dragon knights suppress the nation's destiny!
"Halt! Who are you?" The cautious city guards lowered their spears and aimed them at the dragon, ready to fight to the death at any moment!

"Huh? You city guards are so bold! Even if you don't treat me with courtesy, you should at least salute me, right? What's the meaning of pointing a gun at me?" The girl helplessly spread her hands, indicating that she meant no harm.

"We only have one Dragon Knight General! Tell me who you are and where you come from?" The city guards surrounded the girl with their spears, as if they would rip holes in her if they didn't get a satisfactory answer.

"Huh? A Dragon Rider General? The Empire now has a Dragon Rider General besides me?" The girl immediately became excited.

“Renoir! You’ll soon be able to meet your own kind! And I’ll be able to meet my comrades-in-arms!” the girl exclaimed happily.

……

"Huh? A dragon rider general? A fiery dragon? A female knight!" Roland slapped his forehead upon hearing his subordinate's report. Here she comes! No one except Roland expected a dragon rider general to arrive! As a result, a communication problem almost led to a fight...

“Your Highness! Dragon Knight General Ajax! At your service!” Ajax immediately identified the true leader among the approaching crowd.

“Ajax? What a lovely name! Is this your Blazing Winged Fire Dragon? It’s been raised very well! What’s its name?” Roland asked curiously.

“Him? His name is Renoir!” Ajax immediately introduced.

"Hello! Blazing Winged Fire Dragon Rider General Ajax."

"Hello! Storm Dragon Rider Caslo."

After introducing themselves, both sides experienced a significant shift in mindset! They realized they weren't alone! Their legacy hadn't died out!

"By the way! Ajax, how did you find me?" Roland asked curiously.

"Someone in the north said they'd seen the Imperial flag, so I thought I'd come and try my luck! I never thought I'd actually find it!" Ajax exclaimed excitedly.

"There's no more empire! Now it's a kingdom! Our size can't handle an empire!" Roland gave a wry smile. He knew his own limitations! A few dishes and he'd gotten this drunk? Had he lost his mind? An empire wasn't just a fancy title! It meant bearing responsibility! At least the main battlefield of the Lord of the Rings War was right here at the Swiftstream Fortress!
