Chapter 237 An Immortal Touches My Head
Chapter 237 An Immortal Touches My Head
"Fine, whatever! If they don't bother us, fine. But if they dare to cause trouble again, I'll wipe them out!" Roland sneered, his eyes full of disdain.
Without looking at the goblin corpse that was gradually losing its body temperature and becoming stiff, Roland decisively turned around and left the place.
"The monsters in the Misty Mountains are far more terrifying than goblins. There are rumors that a fully grown black dragon once lived here... but who knows?" Balin explained to Roland as he swung his axe, chopping down the bushes blocking the way.
"It's best not to provoke the magical beasts that live in groups here, because getting entangled with them can be very troublesome!" Balin continued.
"I'm more impressed by the ogres here than the monsters..." Roland grinned, after all, those huge ogres had left an extremely deep impression on him.
“Indeed, those ogres with their innate stone skin are very difficult to deal with!” Balin agreed wholeheartedly, since there are few creatures whose skin cannot be cut by dwarven iron tools, and ogres are among them.
"Legend has it that a portion of the northern humans still live in the Misty Mountains, where they live a carefree life in seclusion!" Balin suddenly told Roland, as if remembering something.
“I understand. After all, the orcs can’t extend their tentacles to every corner of such a large mountain range.” Roland smiled.
The commotion ahead then caught the attention of Roland and Bahrain.
"What happened?" Roland turned to ask the guard beside him.
"We just encountered a group of goblins. They're using a rocky hill to ambush our team. Lord Omske wants to play around with them. We should take some men and surround them now!" The royal guard beside him twitched his lips and helplessly spread his hands. After all, what could he do against a hero who was in such a playful mood?
"Good heavens... let's go check it out! Caslo! Follow me!" Roland glanced at Caslo, who was constantly dozing off on horseback, quietly walked to his side, and then shouted at him.
"Holy crap!" The dazed Caslo was instantly startled and leaped off his horse, instinctively drawing his sword with his left hand and slashing fiercely in the direction of the sound.
With a crisp clang, Caslo fully regained consciousness. Roland was seen gripping the hilt of the Dragon Slayer Sword with both hands, parrying Caslo's riding sword.
"That scared me to death! Luckily I learned the parry skill!" Roland wiped the cold sweat from his brow, startled by Caslo's reaction. If he had reacted any slower and hadn't learned the parry skill... the whole of Swiftstream City could be hosting a feast now.
"Your Highness! Are you alright!" Caslo dropped his sword, dismounted, and rushed towards Roland.
"Get out of my way! Omske is playing house with the goblins up ahead. Come with me and see!" Roland grabbed Caslo, who was lunging at him, and pulled him away.
……
"Shields! Block them! Haven't you eaten?! Such small rolling stones can break through your shield wall? My eighty-year-old grandmother can walk more steadily than you with a shield!"
"Yes, yes, yes, yes! That's how you suppress them! It doesn't matter if your javelins don't hit their targets! Just make sure the density and frequency are right! These wooden javelins aren't worth much, don't worry about them, just throw as many as you can. Once you've used them all up, you can cut down the trees next to them and make dozens more!"
"Hey, hey, hey! Rangers, stop! Stop shooting! If you keep shooting, the goblins will be gone! I finally found you some practice targets, and you don't want them all to die before you've even had a chance to play for long!"
From a distance, Roland and Caslo saw Omske standing with his hands on his hips, full of vigor and confidence, seemingly unleashing his artistic talent for war. Watching him deploy his troops and trap the goblins on a small hill, pulling them out in batches for practice, Roland suddenly felt that even his Tibetan mastiffs weren't as pure as Omske's.
"Do you know how much harm your actions are causing to these poor goblins? They're just pitiful goblins!" Roland said, lifting a goblin that had collapsed and charged down with a spear, his face full of compassion. "Look at them, aren't they easy to communicate with? Not cruel at all? They don't shout loudly either. How could you bear to cruelly torture such quiet and lovely goblins?" Roland held the slightly twitching goblin up to Omske's face. The poor goblin wasn't completely cold yet; its limbs were still twitching unconsciously, and blood was trickling from the corner of its mouth onto the ground.
"I prefer to win people over with virtue. Isn't fighting and killing better? Middle-earth isn't just about fighting and killing; there's also human relationships and customs! Don't you agree, little one? I'll let you go home now. Don't worry, I swear in the name of King Lagrange that I won't blame you for offending me. Go, little one! Go home early. Oh, and be sure to spread the word about my benevolence to your friends!" Roland tossed him away while loudly instructing him.
"Thud!" The poor goblin slammed its head into the ground, its brains splattering everywhere...
"……"Bahrain.
“…” Omsk.
“…” Caslo.
"Oh, I'm so kind! Look at this goblin, he's prostrating himself in gratitude!" Roland exclaimed in amazement.
Omske swallowed hard; his king was known for his benevolence.
"They've escaped! These goblins have gone mad! Catch them!" Suddenly, the goblins on the mound seemed unable to bear the endless torment from humans any longer and launched a desperate breakout in all directions. You have to admit, the way these hundred or so short, pale-skinned goblins scattered and fled really did look like a group of white rats running for their lives.
After being relentlessly pursued and intercepted by the soldiers, most of the goblins were cut down, with only a few managing to escape.
"Hey ho ho! There's another lucky one here?" Roland looked at the goblin rushing towards him in surprise.
"Damn it!" Caslo stepped forward to block Roland's path, cursing the soldiers inwardly for their incompetence in allowing such a thing to attack the royal palace!
"Wait! Don't make a move! This goblin is destined to be with me!" Roland stopped Caslo's good intentions, took off running, and headed straight for the goblin!
"Bang!" Seeing the goblin's ferocious expression and the crude stone axe in its hand, Roland raised his foot and kicked it. The goblin flew through a beautiful parabola like a cannonball, flying more than ten meters away.
"Dragon God! Look at how badly he's injured! I'm guilty!" Roland came to the goblin and carefully examined his injuries. His chest had caved in, and he was on the verge of death.
"Holy Light!" Roland waved his hand, unleashing his skill to heal him.
Everyone looked like they'd seen a ghost. When did this living devil become so kind? He even healed goblins and other alien races?
"Look at that hairless little head! So pitiful!" Roland said with pity.
“Little one, you remind me of a poem from my hometown…” Roland said with emotion.
"Poetry?" Balin leaned closer, wanting to see what this living devil had to say.
"A sage touched my head, an iron hand shattered the heavens!" Roland bent down and, with lightning speed, stretched out his large hand, clad in an iron gauntlet, and crushed the goblin's head with a single blow, instantly splattering white and black matter all over Balin's face (after all, he was a dwarf...).
"Turin! I can't believe your lies! You heartless scoundrel!" Balin gagged in exasperation. He finally understood why this guy had pulled down his visor! He should have known better than to get involved!
“What a disgrace…” Omsk shuddered. His king really could kill others with a smile.
